Review Papa Manzo's - Central City

Man, a great local pizzeria! It can ONLY be better with fresh FROM A FARMER vegetables in it. I do believe this place chops all their ingredients by hand (at least that is how i picture/ envision it)! Please stop AND SHOP LOCAL or we may just look up and gems like this will be gone! But don't just stop out of nostalgic preference, because this food is darn good!

Strictly speaking as an Italian I would like to say that this place is a complete and total waste of time. If I want my marinara sauce out of a can I'll go to Chef Boyardee I'm sure it will taste better. I cannot imagine a person with functioning taste buds eating at this place and actually enjoying it. The marinara sauce is a joke out of a can, the alfredo sauce is more embarrassing than that oh, the pasta was overcooked pasta the only thing they have going on is pizza and you can only really say that because there are no brick oven pizza places in this city. Other than that the service sucked

Ordered basic cheese thin crust Big mistake- should have ordered the largest pie they had!! I seek out old skool pizzerias & this one brought back some great memories!! Wish you delivered to lake Malone!?!

A must eat anytime I am remotely close. In regards to the other review: respectfully - I could care less about how swanky a place looks. It's about the food and it's fantastic.

Best pizza I've ever had!

Papa Manzo's has been serving classic Italian cuisine for over 30 years, and offers fresh Italian salads, creamy stuffed jalapeño peppers (full of cheddar cheese), and pizza pies composed of homemade crust and sweet sauce, all in a charming, comfortable and family-friendly atmosphere. My family recently visited Papa Manzo's, and its owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. My only complaints - (1) the cheese sticks tasted like they were of the frozen variety; and (2) the Italian beef sandwich (with sweet green bell peppers) was pretty disappointing (the beef was bland and the bread was soggy). In my opinion, stick to salads and pizzas when you visit, and this place will not disappoint!

Love it!. Best Pizza in the "Berg"! The owners are the 1st cousins of the "Everly Brothers".

From chicago I like the pizza best pizza ihad outside Chicago the beef n fries were good but the bread the beef was on mama didn't like she likes the French bread like Chicago beef other than that it was great atmosphere great service decent prices

I don't know why everyone likes this.. I have tried on several different occasions to eat here and have never found anything that was anything better than okay. The sauce is bland and tastes canned, the Italian beef is tasteless and soggy as opposed to moist. The appetizers are meh and the pasta salad is just wrong.

Cute spot. We drove by many times and finally we pulled in. What a nice suprise. It is very cute on the inside. A gentleman (I think he was the owner but not sure) reviewed the menu with us and answered a few menu questions for us. The food was decent except next time I will get tea because they serve an off-brand cola that was not good. I saw the other review mentioning smoking. When we ate there, there was only one other table of diners but luckily they weren't smokers. It is a small restaurant so smoking would be a deal breaker for me returning. I can't believe smoking is still allowed in restaurants. Again, the food is decent and I look forward to trying it again.

Food and service great, BUT diners beware! Small place and smoking is permitted. Sometimes it's really bad!

Great Food. I am from Chicago and Ky has nothing to offer in the way of good food. Me and my husband were pleased we found this place finally we can eat good food.
