I had been hearing some great things about this restaurant and had the chance to visit this evening. When I walked in, it was 20 minutes to closing. Sophear (my server) told me that I could sit wherever I wanted. I chose a seat and she brought me an iced water with lemon and a menu. I scanned the menu for a good 5 minutes and Sophear was back asking if I had any questions. At that point, everything on the menu looked great so I asked her if she would have the chef prepare me whatever he liked. She asked me if I had any food allergies or food preferences and I explained that I was open to anything.
While I waited for my surprise dish, I asked Sophear if they had any beer. She told me that they did not yet have their license, but were working on it and told me to ask the lady sitting at the bar for further details. I headed for the bar and met Rattana, one of the owners. She said that they were working on getting their beer and wine license and would go for their spirit license after that. As we spoke for at least 10 minutes, I noticed my plate had been delivered to my table and a man (that looked like the chef) was pacing back and forth near Rattana and I looking like he wanted to say something to me, but not wanting to interrupt the conversation that we were having. I asked Rattana, "Is that the chef?" motioning toward the man pacing back and forth. She replied, "That is my husband, and yes, he is the chef".
Insert Lee (co-owner and head chef). I introduced myself and asked Lee what he decided to create for me and he told me it was a seafood dish and he hoped that I would enjoy it.
The dish had the right amount of spicy, sweet and a little sour as any authentic Thai food should and the ingredients were; shrimp, mussels, calamari, scallops, shrimp, catfish, green beans, spinach, bell pepper and fish sauce. There was also a side of rice that I happily mixed into each bite.
This was hands down, the best Thai food I have ever had and I have eaten a lot of Thai food in a lot of different cities. If you haven't been here yet, you need to go. If you have been here, please go back soon. I would like to see this place do well so we can continue to get some quality Thai food in the Central Valley.
Cheers!
I ordered Tom Yum Soup, Larb laos style, papaya salad, Seafood Radna, seafood delight, spicy noodles, BBQ meatballs, pad Thai & egg rolls and they are all delicious! Diffinitly going back to try more food on the menu👍
