Our first time there. Service was excellent! You can sample any beer before you commit to a glass. Food was fresh, hot, and came out quickly despite how busy they were. The desserts are amazing! If you like 4 layer chocolate cake or 4 layer carrot cake, you better share with a friend!
We enjoyed this place so much during our visit to Champaign that we went back the last day for brunch! Loved the 4oz pours so we could try different beers. Lovely small touches like local cream for the coffee -- cream so good I wanted to drink it straight.
Looks like they have revamped the menu since the last time I ate. Potato Croquettes are back!!! Highly recommend getting thag for appetizers. The bbq pimento burger and dijon chicken were great. Burger was cooked perfectly. The chicken was juicy and the sauce has amazing flavor. The only issue was the service.. it was kind of slow.
I had a Hefeweizen and there Stuffed Pasta. The beer was good, not great, but I am comparing it to those in Germany. With the pasta, at first I was thinking I made a mistake, but the flavor of it was exceptional. The service at the bar was exceptional.
2nd edit. Red Hefe and deadhead jam were both great. Fennel Sausage and pepperoni Pizza was quite possibly best I've ever had. Jumbalaya was legit. The heat was real. Beer was great. Favorite was the imperial wit. Mike was my server, super awesome. Everything came out super fast. No problems save for some homeless dude walking around soliciting sandwiches and a couple of geezers trying to steal my table while I was in the restroom (full beer still on the table). LOL. Anyway I'm definitely coming back! ;D
One of the best places for fine dining in downtown champaign. And they have an amazing microbrewery too which has a great variety of local beers!
The entrée and appetizers are unique and delicious.
Pasta is great.
Burgers are filling and tasty.
The chef really know their stuff.
Would definitely recommend if looking for a nice place to eat in downtown.
One of my favorite restaurant in downtown Champaign. However, make sure to reserve a table, otherwise, you will be in line for a while. I love all the fish dishes. My suggestion is
Cedar Plank Salmon
salmon filet, oven-roasted tomatoes, broccolini, white truffle oil, arugula, roasted garlic vinaigrette

Went there for the first time, despite being a long-time C-U native. Boy, have I been missing out. The food menu was only two pages, but it was still a task to decide. EVERYTHING on the menu is enticing. We started with a cup of the house soup (chicken, celery, and pineapple) and an order of crab Rangoon. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough. The goat cheese blends perfectly with the crab meat and green onion, and their sweet and sour sauce made with their "here goes nothing" sour beer was phenomenal. My girlfriend ended up going with the sirloin entree, and I had a bison burger with stout onions and mushroom mornay sauce. This was the best dinner we've had out in over a year, hands down. Our food was cooked perfectly to temperature, medium rare all the way through. We both got cocktails, which were made quickly and expertly. For dessert, we had the lemon berry cake. Not too moist, not too dry, with the perfect light citrus flavors to round out what ended up being a pretty heavy meal for both of us (although they had plenty of lighter options). My biggest issue is the price point, but I can't complain- it was hard-earned. Service, food, and atmosphere were all top-notch. If you're looking for adventurous yet familiar food that leaves you wanting more, check out Destihl (but have your wallet at the ready).
We came here today to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had a lovely server, his name was JT, who assisted us. Sometimes I family can be a little bit of a handful, but JT handled it with such grace and class. He really had an eagerness to help and serve us. He went above and beyond to make sure that my dad had a great birthday experience at their establishment. Now onto the food: For starters we had the beer battered bacon and cheese curds. My sister wasn't a fan of the bacon because it had breading on it. I would almost have to agree and think that maybe they should serve and unbreaded variety. I do realize that's what's supposed to make the dish, but sometimes people don't want the additional breading. The cheese curds were absolute perfection! Lightly breaded with all of the cheese you can imagine. The only thing I wish was that there were more LOL! With our main dishes my husband had the Dijon chicken, I had the chicken and biscuit, and my daughter had the French toast. The green beans were a little firm for my husband's taste, but the chicken was exceptional! With my chicken and biscuit meal everything was delicious, but I could have stood to have a little bit more gravy. My daughter enjoyed her French toast, but didn't like the marscapone. That's nothing too big because she's a little bit of a picky eater. She was also a little disappointed about the portion size, but what do you expect because it's a kids meal! The ambiance was amazing and I will definitely be back! The only thing I wish is that they had a little bit of a larger selection for brunch as far as offering additional brunch sides.
Very good food with a nice atmosphere and decor. The beer battered bacon was superb and the bbq burger was quite tasty. The bar was a tad slow with getting our drinks but that was overshadowed by the great flavor they had.
