Reviews Cerrito's Pupuseria

First time back here after a long hiatus. Cerritos is not much to look at from the outside...or the inside. It looks like a run down highway greasy spoon restaurant. Parking lot is unstructured gravel with potholes. The restaurant is extremely popular with local immigrants, and it was still crowded for lunch at 2pm on a Tuesday. The authentic Salvadoran food is amazing. I got the fajita mixta with mouthwatering chicken and steak. The steak was somewhat fatty, but that's not at all unusual for taqueria's. It came with grilled green pepper and onions, refried beans and rice, salad, a grilled chile pepper, and two corn tortillas. Seeing the food arrive was kind of breathtaking. The plate is beautifully arranged, and my first thought was, "How am i going to eat all that?" Im glad i forgot to order a pupusa. I ordered the fruit cocktail drink, a mixture of fresh tropical juices topped with pineapple, grapes, apples, peaches, mango, and melon. It was very refreshing. The service was fast, courteous, and attentive. Prices were good, but i got one of their most expensive dishes. I would have given it 4.5 stars if i could, but 4 was too low. If you dont mind shaky tables and cracked floors, you will enjoy the food. Im looking forward to coming back for breakfast one day.

Unassuming / no frills place off the side of the road. Tasted like a grandmother was in the back cooking up the food with lots love. The Papusas, fresh juices, and CHICKEN SOUP were amazing. Also tried tacos, hen, and Carne Asada. Definitely will be back.

So much delicious food for a great price! I wanted to try a little bit of everything (minus the White Claws) and all this food for about $60 which took almost 3 days to finish. Ordered in person so we could look at the menu (posted pictures of those separately)

Food is delicious and the staff is great. The smell and flies make it impossible to eat there, so it's always ordered to go. It didn't used to be like this and hope they fix whatever the issue is with the smell.

Five stars simply because the food was delicious and service was so quick. We ordered two chicken tamales (not pictured), beef soup, and edible flower & cheese pupusa 😋

I can't believe I've gone this long without trying this place. It's so good! The food is well seasoned, the portions are hefty & the prices are better than what most would consider reasonable. I'll take a small, authentic spot like this over any chain restaurant.

Amazing food, but always crowded and somewhat pricey. Other than how small and hard to park part, food is really tasty.

Great hen soup! With 'steaming' freshly made tortillas. Faster than fast and the place was busy...impressive to say the least. For a work day is a great stop for lunch if you're nearby

I dream of these pupusas and get them every time I visit my family in Virginia. It's always perfectly made and the service feels like you're family.

The food is great, but please fill in all of the potholes in the parking lot. That is an accident and car repair waiting to happen.
