This place is awesome!! The family and I were visiting Charleston the Saturday after my daughter graduated bootcamp (6/15/18) and my husband wanted some good South Carolina BBQ. He looked up places to eat and he chose Swig & Swine. We were not disappointed! The food was outstanding and the staff was great! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some great tasting BBQ
If you are searching for Carolina Barbecue, this is it! They did not disappoint. Pimento Cheese & Ritz Crackers as an appetizer could be a meal by itself. Wings and Pulled Pork was right on point. The sauces were unique and perfect. “The Alabama White”sauce is amazing. Brunswick stew is off the charts!
The staff made us feel like locals.
10+ on a scale of 1-5.

The best freaking food I've ever had! We've been traveling the south for quite a while now. We've eaten a lot of BBQ along the way... this restaurant by far is the best! So stinking good infact we returned 2 hours after leaving to get dessert!! Also AMAZING! We will definitely make this our first stop when back visiting Charleston!!! Do you ship!? Mmmm :)
Thanks for the beyond amazing food and the great service!!!
Outstanding! Friendly people and the best bbq in Charleston. The sausage and cheddar appetizer could be a meal on its own. Smoked turkey and pulled pork don’t even need any of the delicious sauces provided. Pecan pie and nutter butter pie were huge - either could’ve been shared and been more than enough.
Amazing service, servers were knowledgeable and helpful, food and drinks were exceptional! . I’d definitely recommend this place. We’ve been here a year now and I regret not trying it sooner.
Great smoked pork meats! Sausage was probably the best I’ve ever had! Great portions as well , just enough. And then a personal bourbon-chocolate-pecan pie to finish off. Too good!
One of the best briskets I've ever had. The smoked potato salad and corn pudding was to die for. Thanks so much!!

Excellent food! Friendly staff!! What more could you ask for?? The brisket melts in your mouth!
Fantastic place!!! We stopped in for a late night meal... we had just gotten into Charleston. Every staff member... waiter to the brisket counter girl was friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful. On top of the great service, the food was OUTSTANDING!!! We want to get a care package to take back to NY!
Me and my husband ate here this past weekend for our anniversary trip. The food was out of this world good and the service was fantastic! It was a little crowded and we ended up having to park in the grocery store parking lot a few buildings down since parking space was limited, but it was well worth the walk over. We will definitely be back!
The food was delicious and the server was awesome!!! Will definitely go back when we return to Charleston.
We had a great meal. I got the grilled cheese brisket sandwich which was delicious. They were having a little bit of a rough night and it was room temperature not hot but I loved it just the same. The pickled vegetables were awesome and it's the first time I've ever had hash that did not have organ meat in it. It was awesome. I highly recommend you trying it out.
Had the platter, pretty good flavors and decent portions all around. Ribs were a little dry for my taste but the chicken wings were great. Enjoyed the mac and cheese but the potato salad was amazing!! My only complaint, and it's a minor one, the parking is pretty non existent. Fun place, good food and nice waitstaff.
Great barbecue! Husband had The Big Nasty sandwich with delicious coleslaw. He loved it. I had a lean chopped brisket sandwich. It was very good. I personally liked the coleslaw better than the Mac and Cheese I ordered. Try this place, we have been going there for years and it is consistently wonderful.

I have wanted to come to this restaurant for a number of years now and finally got my chance. Let me tell you it did not disappoint in any way. The brisket and pork belly was smoked perfectly. The side were just as good as the mains and the meal was truly delicious. Our server was also made the experience better. She was super happy and friendly. If you’re looking to experience a wonderful barbecue restaurant look no further.
Charleston’s French Quarter has becoming less attractive. Newly built hotels block the panoramic bridge view and pretty much all restaurants became less approachable and more touristy.
Then I found this gem just before entering the French quarter region and this place checks all the marks. Pricing is very approachable, staffs are very friendly and all food items exceeded my expectations.
Amazing barbecue place, we bad brisket, chicken and sausage and all were great. The chicken was spiced up perfectly and the sausage was filled with spices( it tasted very much like sujuk) and it was perfectly hot and spicy. The brisket was cooked to perfection. Their peach cobbler was perfection with ice cream on the top. The server was nice and explained all the different sauces they had and was very friendly. A beautiful experience in general.
The food was amazing but the ribs were next level… whatever you want to call that. The sides were great but in all honesty we’re taking most of them back to the hotel because we simply couldn’t take a break from the meats long enough to make a dent on the sides. Kevin “the Magnificent” was patient, friendly, and helpful as we were quite confused as to what to pick, given all of the choices. Basically, if you drop by Charleston SC and you don’t stop here… you’re doing it wrong.
Had a perfectly enjoyable lunch here today. The atmosphere was fun and casual. We sat inside in a booth but have sat outside as well and both were comfortable. Ordered a fried chicken sandwich which was pretty good and an Alagash beer. The dry rub wings are good and overall the food was pretty good. The best part was the service with an extremely charming southern waitperson that made the experience enjoyable. Would come back again.

SWIG & SWINE... Love the pig sign on the side of the building! Wings, brisket, pork & sausage. Sides corn pudding & collards. A good brisket, a really good sausage- one of the best! Pork mild smoke but tender & juicy. Wings were highly unusual.... peanut butter and grape jelly smoked dry- rubbed... incredible!! Sides: OK collards and a good corn pudding. Someone said to make sure & get the pecan bourbon pie for dessert....& let me just say that pie... absolutely incredible! The pie & those wings make this a destination BBQ!!

Swig and Swine Charleston SC.
it's WING DAY!
1/2 OFF Wing special... it's why I made the drive from Charlotte, NC. Smoked dry rubbed & PB&J wings.... extra sauce on the side was the Thai chili dipping ...
Really incredible sauce! ❤️😊
First time at this restaurant, and it won't be my last! I had the 1/2 chicken bbq, corn pudding (or cream of corn?), and greens. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the corn was creamy and delicious, and the greens were good, too (although they were a bit sweet for my taste). I was too full to eat the banana pudding while at the restaurant, so I took it home and GORGED myself with it later. Delicious! Definitely will be returning.
Waiters are lovely and the food gets their fast! We ordered the 4 side dish and the per pound meat. The smoked turkey and brisket were to die for. The pulled pork was a little dry. Potato salad is hands down the best thing on earth. The coleslaw was pretty bland but not terrible. We would definitely come back here again.
Casual and delicious local BBQ restaurant. The chicken wings and brisket were delicious and we will be back for. Service was friendly and helpful. The peach cobbler was sweet, warm and comforting.
My wife and I first time. She’s from Texas and I’m a local and continue to tell her Texas isn’t the south, and Carolina BBQ is BETTER. Let’s just say it pained her on how GREAT Everything was! We did the $12 Monday special and 1/2lb brisket plate. We did that to maximize the value of multiple sides. We had the money meat(pork), Brunswick stew, Mac n cheese, corn pudding, hash and rice, and beans. The hash was slightly a bit salty, but still great! The beans and Brunswick stew was packed with brisket meat. The stew could be another meat dish. Lol. We also had peach cobbler and the pecan pie; both really tasty!! I love your shots at non meat eaters! Our waitress was phenomenal! I wish I had gotten her name but owners, the blonde who worked today around 2:30 pm. BRAVO ZULU to her! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
The service was great! They had a great happy hour! We started with wings dry rubbed. They were so good that we brought a pint of their rub.
It was our first time. My wife and I enjoyed our meal. The pulled pork and brisket were very good. The sides were also good. I would eat here again.
Incredibly good. Had the "pork puppies", pulled pork sandwich and mac n cheese. Good sauce assortment, good portion sizes, good waiter, good drink selection, good everything.
This is real BBQ! The brisket is always top notch and the pulled pork is to die for. The sides are plentiful and delicious. After eating your meal you won't have room for dessert, but please don't skip it. Get dessert to go. You won't be sorry.
Picked up Lunch here with Tailgate option number 1 for 10 grown men and 2 women! They all ate well & was good left over! Delicious! Everyone loved it and we’ll be doing again! Thanks Y’all! And the customer service was great! Will be back for lunch or dinner. Chicken wasn’t dry!!!
I hate this place. If only because this was our first experience of Carolina Cooking. The bar has been set. And what a height it is at.
I have tried BBQ all over, and this by far had been the best I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. The meat practically melted in my mouth.
I tried their pork belly, beef brisket, and beef ribs. Everything was seasoned to perfection. No sauce was used during the cooking process, so you can taste the meat in all its glory. They did have sauces available, but they were most definitely not needed.
The service was impeccable Ms. Christina was amazing and made us feel like we were regulars even though it was our first time. The place wasn't packed, but it was pretty busy, and the waitresses kept on top of everything.
I thoroughly recommend this place to anybody visiting the Charleston area, it's definitely worth it.
