This place exceeded all expectations! The staff was amazing and very knowledgeable. Coming from Nebraska and wanting some good fresh sushi and lobster this is by far the best option. Highly recommend and if I ever come back this will be a first stop.

Fantastic atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, delicious drinks (berry basil lemonade was the bomb and the detox - my husband recommends it) We went yesterday and had the dumpling din sum, sesame duck, and scallops. Holy sh*t! Everything was mind blowing and we'll definitely be back. Dessert selection could be bigger and better but I won't take a star off as the mochi ice cream was great. All in all recommend.

The food was SO fresh and the sushi rolls were very unique; not just your typical sushi. The service was great as well. We sat at the bar for a drink and we're immediately served, once we were brought to our table the great service continued and even the management came to our table to make sure our food and service were up to par. I woukd definitely recommend this place to my friends and will be back for more.

This past Saturday I took my girlfriend to O-Ku on King Street for her birthday. Our table was ready for us exactly at the time of our reservation. We ordered two sushi rolls and some cocktails. One of the rolls was not to our liking and we could not eat it. Honestly, it could have just been our taste. Either way, our server immediately comped the roll and brought us another roll that we throughly enjoyed. The other roll was phenomenal as always. Our server was very knowledgeable about the cocktails and made excellent recommendations. The O-ku staff provided us with a fantastic complementary birthday desert, complete with a candle and all. I wish I could remember our servers name but I cannot. She provided us with excellent service, above and beyond what is to be expected. Thank you O-ku for a wonderful birthday dinner!

Dinner for Mother's Day. We were a party of four and the service was awesome. I am kinda new to the Sushi world but, my 2 boys and wife are well-educated. Our server was very good. We never felt rushed and she was attentive. We had the spring rolls and dim sum for apps. Sooo good! We ordered 2 rolls each and I wish I could remember the names. Everything was fresh and so tasty. We will definitely be back.

The Sushi, as well as other menu items are consistently OUTSTANDING ! As far as the service goes, myself and everyone else I have brought with me has always been treated as a VIP by Robert , Jay and the rest of the staff since the first day I stepped in the restaurant. I have eaten sushi at other Charleston sushi restaurants but this is the only One I return to every week.

From the minute I walked in to the time I left everything was on point! King salmon Uzu and tempura fried oysters were amazing! Service was as good as I've had in all of Charleston. Bridgette and Cameron covered all the bases. Thanks guys for a great night!

We were walking around looking for somewhere to eat and we found O-Ku. It was the best sushi ever and the bartender from Jersey was the best. I love her. Seriously she's that good.

Fantastic & fun menu! Excellent service. They were busy, but seated us earlier than our reservation & the waitress was extremely helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. We went to the O-Ku in Atlanta and it was awful. This one is 180 degrees opposite. Hands down the best sushi and perhaps dining experience I've ever had.

The food was excellent, but the service was even better. We had a large group and our waitress as well as the manager made sure we never had empty glasses

The food was amazingly! However, George, our server, is what took the experience over the top!! He was helpful with recommendations and kept a watchful eye over our drinks.

Some of the best sushi I have had in many years. The Beef Tartar was very tender and was paired with sliced avocado and diced apple which made an awesome combo. All the sushi rolls we had were excellent but out of all of them I could whole heartily recommend the Surf n Turf roll. The steak on top was well seasoned and rare, and the crab in the middle was a nice pairing. As a side note, the bar is very capable. The Old Fashioneds I ordered were made brilliantly. Props to Tyler for being an excellent.

Found a sushi gem on King Street! This restaurant has a great atmosphere and is very clean. The sushi is phenomenal! Super fresh with wonderful flavor. There is okay sushi, good sushi and excellent sushi and this is definitely a top two all time best sushi we’ve had! Kyleigh was our server and she was excellent as well, thank you Kyleigh. Well done! We also had the pleasant surprise with Happy Hour having the rolls we had planned on trying. The Firecracker roll is amazing. All rolls we tried were great! A definite winner for sushi in Charleston.

Some the best sushi I have ever had. The presentation and the beauty of the sushi was spectacular. The atmosphere was like nothing I have ever experienced in Charleston, it like I was transported to the middle of the busy city of New York. Overall 10/10!

Great happy hour menu and gluten free options! They substitute real snow crab for the imitation crab to make the California rolls gluten free. I love the atmosphere too!

Excellent food and service. Bella was awesome. It was my first time eating here and I will be back. Ordered the 2 of Potato Rolls, Tokyo Wings, Rock Shrimp Salad, Honey-Ginger Chicken and Fried rice. Since it was our first time dining they gave us an appetizer on the house: Waygu Tataki. We also ordered cocktails as well - Dockside & Basil Berry Lemonade. Everything was delish! The vibe, decor and music was everything. I would recommend this spot for a cute date night — you won’t be disappointed.

Favorite place to eat sushi in Charleston! We love sitting at the sushi bar and watching the chef work their sushi magic. Favorite dish is the salmon lemon roll and the scallop crudo, although everything is absolutely delicious! Will return over and over again!

Met with friends at Oku for happy hour. It was a great time with tasty drinks and I got to experience their Chef’s Tasting menu as well. The selection from them is diverse and it was exciting to pair them with Sake drink flights. For an appetizer we ordered their Dim Sum, wings, and dumplings. The flavors they achieved were unreal! The sushi experience here is top-notch. Salmon nigiri is off the charts with how delicious it was. Our serve was sweet and she made sure we didn’t want for anything. The expert preparation and presentation shines through. The vibe inside feels upscale. This dining journey is phenomenal with quality ingredients that make for a wonderful experience

Arguably best sushi in Charleston and if you can go during happy hour, some of their rolls and starters are half off (M-W-F, 5-7). Surprisingly the wings were one of the best dishes we had. Great aesthetic and wonderful staff.

Considering O-ku is somewhat of a chain, the food is pretty good! I’ve had better sushi but this sushi is still super good! I go to the O-ku in raleigh, nc sometimes as well!

On a weekend getaway I booked a reservation here for Saturday night because I figured by that point we would be ready for something other than shrimp and grits. We definitely were, and this place didn’t disappoint! We were originally seated beside a very loud group. I asked the hostess to move us and she very kindly obliged (and didn’t make me feel ridiculous for asking). We had the spring rolls for an appetizer and WOW they are wild - not at all what you would expect. Differently delicious in an amazing way. Our sushi rolls were also great. Our server Laura was efficient yet friendly. This place is a bit loud and scene-y but I think that’s the point - and anyway the food is amazing! If you’re looking for a change from the usual Charleston fare, definitely give this place a visit.
