We came for lunch and arrived just before they were opening. The hostess there wasn't very friendly and we waited on the sofas near the front of the restaurant. Once we were seated our server was nice but not very knowledgeable. From what I can see of the other reviews it looks like this place is perhaps better for dinner but our lunch items weren't as great as other nearby restaurants such as Cru Cafe. The burger was a little overcooked and pretty plain. The hush puppies seemed over-fried. The best dish was the stuffed crab but it wouldn't have been nicer with a more acidic sauce to cut the richness of the fried crab.

The dish has won numerous awards, including being named the best shrimp and grits in South Carolina by the Charleston City Paper. I also had the opportunity to try the Firefly Distillery signature drink, which is a delicious cocktail made with Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka, muddled blueberries, and lemon juice. Not only was the drink delicious, but it also came with a $25 discount to "The Spa of Charleston". I would highly recommend the Swamp Fox Restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Charleston. The food is amazing, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is perfect. A classy atmosphere but they had no problems seating my wife and I in shorts and tie dye. The asparagus and she crab soup were phenomenal. The fried green tomatoes and pimento burger were ok, but too sweet for my taste (they put jelly on both). The ankle breaker (drink) was really good! The second was even better. I had the good sense not to try a third 😁

Really enjoyed our lunch at Swamp Fox🥂we tried the shrimp n’grits which was so tasty and delish as well as the salmon dish! And our server Christina was a delight and attention to detail🤩She knew we were sharing so she brought out the dishes evenly divided🍽️😍👌🏽oh that’s right for dessert we ended up trying the butter cake w/ice cream🍰which was scrumptious!!
