I could not say enough about this restaurant. We have eaten there twice now and have decided it's definitely our go to spot in all of Charleston. Our first time there was the night we got engaged and the staff went above and beyond, complimentary champagne, desserts, appetizers, everything! Today we went back for our first Valentines Day as a married couple and once again they outdid themselves. The food could not be any better and the people could not be anymore friendly. This place is true Southern Hospitality at its finest! The Perloo may be the best food I've ever had anywhere and my wife loves the flounder and grits! I could not recommend a better restaurant in Charleston!

My girlfriends and I had the most lovely dinner last night. The setting is relaxed and intimate which is perfect for nearly any occasion. We were greeted quickly upon entering and they already had our table beautifully prepared. Our server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable, he offered suggestions when we couldn't decide between all of the incredible choices. We had the pimento cheese and deviled eggs as starters, both outstanding. However, as someone born and raised in South Carolin I can whole heartedly say the pimento cheese was some of the best I've ever had. (Sorry, Grandmama) My friends and I ordered the Seasonal Salad which was perfectly balanced, shrimp and grits and the Fried Chicken plate with baked Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. All were delicious but the fried chicken was the star of the show. We completed our meal with banana pudding and a pound cake with fresh strawberry jam. My only complaint is that I wish I'd been able to physically eat more because it was all so delicious. The manager and chef both came by our table to check on us and everyone we interacted with was warm, polite and professional.

Went there for our anniversary and started off with the sawmill poutine (fries covered with cheese curds and sausage gravy) followed by the fried chicken. I had the collar greens and mashed potatoes for my side and my wife had black eyed peas and mac and cheese. Everything was excellent along with the banana pudding for dessert. Highly recommend to my friends. Can't wait to go back.

Deviled egg best ever. Creamed corn was very young and tender and tasty. Chicken crispy if lacking a bit of spice but perfectly cooked. Hoppin John needed more flavor. Best key lime pie ever! Flounder and grits sensational.

We had fried pickeled okra, wonderfully crispy, ... Delicious Fried green tomatoes...Great flavor but a little thin for me. Note to chef. ...Cut them a little thicker please Shrimp and grits with tomatoe gravey. Delicious...Plump tender shrimp and loved the smoked sausage. A gracious serving not over seasoned.

Upon the recommendation of our concierge, I brought my family of six to Virginia's for an early morning breakfast. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was delicious with portions that were very generous. Our waitress was polite as well as attentive.

Our food was delicious, excellent atmosphere! Our wait person was so nice and I loved the fact that all staff were friendly and helped each other when needed. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary for lunch yesterday and what a treat our sweet girl ( waitress) gave us a slice of key lime pie! Oh my the pie was out of this world!! Since we live in the area we will be back ❤️.

The food here was just okay overall, however we had one standout dish which was the fried green tomatoes. I would go back just for that alone. They were fried perfectly in a deliciously seasoned batter and the dipping sauce was perfect. Yum. The sliders and fries we got were not nearly as good (the fries seemed stale). The crab cakes with grits and corn relish needed some other textures as it all just mushed together. Maybe a crunchy slaw on the side or something like that. The mac and cheese our daughter ordered was so greasy it turned her stomach. Thankfully the server took it back. Our server was exceptional the whole way through. I wish I remember his name but he was the epitome of Southern hospitality. The atmosphere is nice with some lovely artwork representative of the region and a historic feel. We weren't overly impressed with the food but I would give it another try and would definitely get the fried green tomatoes again.

The service was great! The atmosphere was surprisingly comfortable. We walked in and saw a partially packed bar. I thought this might get too loud to carry a conversation at our table, but it wasn't. The food was. . . I ordered the meatloaf, which was okay (a little dry), and it came with instant mashed potatoes. My date was fine with her shrimp and grits. The grits were not instant grits. I'll be back, but I'm ordering the fried chicken; we saw that plate come out of the kitchen multiple times. It looked great!

Food is great. I had the shrimp and grits. Wife had pancakes. My Dad had the omelette. Drinks were good as well. Service was just a little slow. We were there for brunch in a Sunday.

On our first trip to Charleston, we wanted to enjoy all the great food they have to offer. Looking for the perfect brunch - breakfast spot was challenging on an early Saturday morning. Reservations are required or suggested at most of the more popular locations. Last minute Saturday Brunch reservations are rather difficult to find. I should have planned better. So we just changed our dining time to an early breakfast and landed at Virginia’s on King! What an absolute jewel this place is!!! This quaint and nostalgic restaurant boasts all the southern charm we were looking for. The food, the atmosphere, and the service was everything and more! We were so glad we changed our brunch to breakfast, as it gave us more time to enjoy beautiful King Street. The Crab Eggs Benedict was to die for!!

More expensive than it should be in my opinion. Food wasn't as good as the hype about it. A good selection of food choices as far as brunch went and the service was excellent. I do recommend trying for brunch at least once but what you get for the price, it's a one time experience for me.

Nice spot for brunch. Good atmosphere, wait staff very nice and attentive. Had the flounder BLT was very tasty. Grits were very creamy, egg a little under seasoned. Daughter enjoyed her breakfast wrap. Expect a slightly pricey meal, but hey it’s Charleston. Will return for another visit to try the fried chicken!

Decided to visit Virginia's for Sunday brunch. It features an impressively varied menu of Southern favorites, many with a little bit of a twist. She crab soup was great.

Excellent southern staples and enormous desserts. Lacking a full bar, cocktails are limited, but the shrimp and grits, fish and grits, and peach cobbler are excellent. Banana pudding without vanilla wafers? No old fashioned? Bless your hearts. But what you do well, you do very well. I can still taste that cheesy grits that comes with the fish, and the peach cobbler.

Nearly perfect, this was a great lunch. We had the country fried steak and eggs, and chicken and waffles. Great sweet tea. I will say we wished the maple syrup was heated, and the frying oil may have been too hot because the breading was very crispy and almost overdone. That could be a plus or minus depending on your preference. I liked it, my wife considered it a minus. Overall 9/10 for us.

Wow!!!! This chef is amazing and definitely knows what he is doing. I ordered the blueberry syrup stuffed French toast that sounded amazing but I was worried about the cream cheese filling as I was not sure if I would like it but my husband talked me into trying something new. I think that was one of the best things I have tasted in a really long time. The little potatoes were crispy and delicious. My husband got eggs Benedict and grits and he was amazed and said 10/10 off the charts great and he would be here all the time if we lived here. The waitress was foreign accent super sweet and great thank you for the best experience.

Delicious breakfast in a storied location. This place is famous and for good reason! We strolled in on Saturday morning at 8:30am. Very friendly service. Everything on the menu sounded delicious so it was hard to choose - decided on the Country Benedict and it was perfect. My husband’s meal (biscuits and gravy) was a bit cool when it came out but our server was very nice about heating it up. The grits were absolutely amazing. Certainly recommend if you’re looking for a taste of “old Charleston” (and even if you’re not).

I went to this place because it was close to my hotel and I’m glad I did. I was greeted by very friendly staff. My server was very helpful in describing the dishes to help me pick a dish. I ordered the fried green tomatoes eggs Benedict and it was very good. I really loved the unique twist on this dish. I can see how this is a local favorite.

Stopped by on a steady Sunday evening. We didn’t have reservations but we’re able to be seated immediately. We ordered a VOK Bloody Mary, a Peachy Keen, and the Kitchen Sink Potatoes to start. They were all delicious. For entrees, we ordered the Crab Cakes and Shrimp & Grits for the adults, while our 3 year old got the Baked Mac & Cheese. They were all okay, nothing that blew our tastebuds off. The place had a cool feel to it—we had a good experience and would recommend this place to others.

You can’t go wrong if you start your day at Virginia’s on King! We got breakfast here before we left Charleston at the end of our vacation and it was a good way to cap an excellent trip off! My wife got the Chicken and Waffles and it was what you expected. It was a piece of fried chicken, a Belgian waffle and a hot honey type sauce. It was good but it was nothing specially. Personally, I prefer my chicken and waffles with a different type of waffle but it wasn’t bad by any means! I had the Eggs Benedict and personally I felt it was a little special. The one thing it had over a regular eggs Benedict was it had a Tabasco powder on it. To me this little bit of kick really set the dish off and made it special! I loved it and I would recommend it to anyone! Same is said for Virginia’s on King. It is a cute southern restaurant with good southern food!

From start to finish the best meal we had in Charleston. We originally made a reservation but decided to come earlier and they were extremely accommodating and got us a table right away. Then came Danni who was absolutely amazing, she made us feel like we were right at home. We tried a little bit of everything the tomato pie was my favorite and my wife loved the onion casserole. I could try to share everything great about but you would be way better off just coming to try it.
