Dreamer. Good food, good service. Prices may seem high but well worth it if you ask for Heather or Maryann you can't go wrong.

I'm torn.... I love Oregon seafood and we watched people dig up clams the entire time we ate which was a really enjoyable way to spend an afternoon but the food did not stand out compared to the other restaurants we have dined at in Oregon. Still a good seafood restaurant so I can't complain too much!

Exceptional performance!. I was twice treated to an outstanding dinner here when I served as a judge in the Miss Coos County Pageant. The food here is second to none! The service was impeccable, done quickly and had the judges table all set for us! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a friendly environment and very tasty food.

On a cross country roadtrip .. found an out of the way stop for tye night. To my surprise.... a waterside restaurant a bare 2 min walk away. Now.. I have an affinity for fried seafood... it just makes me happy... though normally the plates are simply mediocre at best. Portside does a good job. First off... that meal could easily feed 2 hungry people. I eat pretty big servings...and there was no way. Our server was very pleasant and asked if we wanted bread and butter.....it was warm and good. My wife wasn't very hungry and ordered the appetizer calamari. That was great at well... tender calamari strips battered and fried. My meal...the Captains platter..consisted of.... soup ( clam chowder)... followed by a mountain of a plate...of... calamari strips, oysters, plentiful amount of tender fish, shrimp and scallops. The shrimp and scallops were just mediocre in my opinion. I live in SW Florida.. fresh shrimp is bountiful. So is fish....but...for me...cold water fish is better. I loved the fish..this coming from a fisherman (catch thousands of fish a year) .... who almost never eats fish. Also served was a huge baked potato that was delicious. If this restaurant was local to me.... I'd be here at least twice a month. As a foodie... that's saying a lot. The service was awesome! Live music (singer) in the background. Harbor view. Made for a wonderful way to end a long day of driving. We ate the leftovers down the road in California the next night. Still great....just less crisp... was enough to satisfy both of us for a meal.

Pretty good food but very spendy. They do give you a lot and the staff was super friendly. The clam chowder was yummy. The fish and chips were decent although thin and crispy instead of chunky. The tartar sauce was way too sweet!! The crab and zucchini appetizers were delicious.

So good that I visited 2 days in a row. The seafood is local and fresh. Bay shrimp cocktail was simple with a tasty cocktail sauce. Local Cod Fish and Chips, Panko crusted. Note that the F&C and other fried goodies come out FAST = Flash fried not bathing in oil. Service is great, welcomed my pup on the patio. It’s not fancy. Plastic forks, paper cups. Christmas lights year around. It’s a gem.

The food and service is amazing. Know that if you go for lunch you won't be seated in the main restaurant overlooking the bay. They have an enclosed patio they use for lunch. I had the captain's platter and everything tasted great. My family said the clam chowder was some of the best they have had. I was too full to even try it. I bet this would have been a five if we had gone for dinner and been seated in the main restaurant.

One of the best meals I have had in ages! Started off with their Calamari, which was simply amazing! Then a House Salad that was impressive both in the presentation and how it tasted. The main course was the Stuffed Petrale Sole which was quite marvelous. Their bartender makes a very nice Spanish Coffee. And their Chocolate Mouse........Heavenly. On my Must Return list!

Promptly greeted and seated. Great service by our waitress Sierra! Very fresh seafood. Petrale sole almondine was delicious. House salad fresh with lots of extras. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. A little pricier restaurant but it's quality food and plenty of leftovers for next day. It's like getting 2 meals in one. We didn't order their clam chowder because we didn't care for it in the past. They might have updated it but i remember it testing like mashed potatoes and gravy instead of chowder soup.

The food was Absolutely Amazing! And the service was equally as wonderful. I don't think I've been to a restaurant where they've paid as much attention or cared as much. I recall we were stuffed to the brim and ready to get boxes, when I realized (quite loudly by accident-I have a loud voice and it echoed😅) that I didn't get the clam chowder that I had ordered 😆 two separate employees almost immediately popped up from different corners like "Did we hear you're missing chowder?" And I turned around like Wow you guys have GREAT hearing 🤣🤣 They're all super friendly and kind, and we really enjoyed our server and everyone else who came by and had contact with. I will say- for our price range it was a bit expensive; but we had been driving through towns for almost an hour and a half trying to find a restaurant on our way through into coos bay and this was the first place we finally found that was open. Everywhere else we used our GPS to get to, was closed even though it said they were open and their voice-mail said it was open. It was great to find a restaurant we could sit down and break our travels at; but it was a lot of money for 2 adults and a child. (The fuzzy picture I didn't get a clear shot of- but it's the Escargot thay my 4 year old daughter even tried and absolutely loved!! She also enjoyed the fried crab legs, baked oysters, and the fried mushrooms🥰) Also pictured is the Cajun salmon, the fish and chips, two oyster shooters, and the child's fettuccine Alfredo It was great to watch her try all the new amazing foods! I wish we could have left more as a tip for the amazing server;but we were already spending so much money that I couldn't afford to give any more.

What a shocker! This restaurant was great and you can't judge a book by it's cover. The outside is typical seaside cafe style looking, but the menu is amazingly great! Portside has a fabulous selection of seafood and it does not dissapoint. I highly recommend this restaurant and the service was fantastic as well.

So happy we stopped here to enjoy the seafood. Wonderfully good and service. Prices are a little high for the season, and my scallops were a little overcooked. Other than that, everything was perfect.
