Pretty good.... I've been eating at this place since I was a child and I LOVE IT! It reminds me of a "Mom and Pop" joint, but with Italian food. The sauce is perfect and their garlic butter is out of this world! Not one bad choice on the menu!
Fabulous service and high quality foid. A great experience.
As a kid, my parents ate at Leonoro's on their date nights :) Now my husband and I have gone on dates here as well! Fresh, signature sauce, traditional menu selections and the best homemade house dressing ever. I love that it's a locally owned 100-year old family business!
Great Local Resaurant. I thoroughly enjoy the meals at Leonoro's and particularly like the stuffed shells (made with meat instead of ricotta). The sauce is genuine Italian and made fresh daily.
Customer4Life. I think it's the best Italian in Charleston. My sister-in-law will rarely eat in an Italian restaurant, because it is never as good as her grandmother's recipe. She loves Leonoras. Tony Caridi loves Leonoras. I find most Italians love it, because it is authentic.
The Best Pasta Around!. My father grew up on Leonoro's pasta - and so did I! I still LOVE their pasta (Their rigatoni is my favorite!). Their bread, & their house dressing is also incredible! I live a good 8 hours away, but EVERY opportunity I have to go back, Leonoro's is the FIRST place I go!! Their sauce is my favorite, because you can get it without meat & it just tastes better than any other Italian restaurant in the states I've had. I know it may be partially due to our having grown up on - and all the fond memories of eating there (& knowing all the same family members who've always worked there), but it's A++ in my book!! Any time we have someone from our family visit, they KNOW we anticipate getting some Leonoro's sauce & dressing when they arrive!! FABULOUS FABULOUS restaurant! I opened an account on this site just so I could comment on Leonoro's! :)
Best Spaghetti sauce, anywhere, bar-none. Staff friendly, great service, great food. A must for locals and visitors alike
Outstanding. I've dined here for years & never once been disappointed in either the food or the service. The menu's deliberately limited selection is rewarded by the experience that everything they do is done VERY well! The perfectly prepared pasta is balanced by a very tasty but not overwhelming sauce accented by excellent meat balls. Ravioli / Spaghetti "combo" is great & easy on the wallet. Tops in my book! (& to the poor guy who doesn't think much of Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee, who was a chef at The World-Famous Greenbrier Resort, you should do as well!)

They have the best rigatoni I've ever eaten! Get the "house" dressing for your salad. You won't be disappointed! To save on expenses, we always go for "lunch special". I agree that the servers are fairly rude, but the again, they always have been! We just laugh it off and enjoy our meal. If you have room, try the cannoli
Miss it terribly. Having lived out of Charleston for 10 years now, I miss Joe and Al and all of what Leonardo's meant to my family and the City. People who decry the service and the "real italian" really don't have a clue of what either mean.
A great neighborhood joint. Our family loves the East End restaurant, Leonoro's. It's a limited menu that probably has never changed, but there is something for each of us. We feel lucky that this eatery is right in our neighborhood! Their lunch menu is more affordable for most families.
May be impartial because my family has been goin here for 50 years but I believe it to be the best traditional Italian restaurant around. There salad dressing is great
Perfectly Quaint. My family has lived in Charleston, West Virginia for years. Though I have long since moved on, it's a family tradition to go back everytime I'm in town.
The sauce has the most original, almost sweet taste. Very distinctive. It is a sin not to order the spaghetti with meatballs.
Simple & delicious. If it's lunch time and I'm in Charleston, I don't have to think about where to go for lunch. It's straight to Leonoro's Spaghetti House.
Do you like delicious consistency? I sure do. That's why, every time, it's the spaghetti with meatballs. It's the only place where I order this simple, yet delicious dish. You get a nice little salad and a few slices of white Italian bread served with little pats of butter. Quaint? Good!
And I'm not even sure why, but the spaghetti and meatballs is really good. Maybe it's the nice red sauce. Maybe it's the meatballs. I don't know. I just know that it's always good and always hits the spot. And I think the same thing every time: simple and delicious. What else do you need? Faggiddaboudit.
Okay, I have to stop now because even though I just had lunch there today, I'm making myself hungry.
Neighborhood Spaghetti House. Every sudo-urban neighborhood needs a spaghetti house like Leonoro's. Located on the edge of Charleston's historical East End, Leonoro's offers it's customers a very favorably priced Italian comfort food menu. Side Salad with Blue, Garlic Bread, and Small Spaghetti and Meatballs, please!
You know exactly what you are going to get from the moment you sit down...consistency, graciousness, and darn good marinara sauce! It's one of my favorite comfort food restaurants.
Everybody needs a place like Leonoro's on Washington Street. It is an old fashioned Italian restaurant where you are welcome to come in the back door and walk through the kitchen. The owner will greet you with a smile everytime. This place is full of fami
My wife and I were looking for some good, authentic Italian food while staying overnight in Charleston and decided to visit Leonoro's. I'm glad we did. The service was great and the presentation and taste of the food was excellent. The sauce on the Lasagna and Manicotti was very flavorful and the meatballs were perfect. We will definitely be back again!
Very warm and somewhat cozy,we shared the spaghetti & meatballs and also the lasagna..Nice Dinner
My favorite place to get Italian in town! Wonderful food, and amazing service! Highly recommend!
When you need a perfect Italian fix and don't have time to make it yourself. Nobody in this region does it better. I have been going here for 50 years and have never had a bad meal. Consistent and perfect. Love this place.
Leonoro’s is the BEST! It was only 10 years that I discovered it in Charleston, WV. The food is anything but ordinary! The service is excellent every single time I believe his name is Kevin and he treats us like family. The lasagna is great, as well as their meatballs and sauce. Please make sure to stop by if you’re in town keep this little place open!
