I went here after work to try something different. I didn't have a reservation, but I was seated. The atmosphere was nice. Service was great. Food was delicious. The short ribs was very tender. It it pricey, thus the description "upscale". I would recommend it for special occasions, but definitely not for a causal outing.
Great service, atmosphere was chill, and food was delicious. Brussel sprout appetizer was delish! Wood fired pizza, best cheese! The entrees were both great too. I enjoyed our waiter and even the hostess was on point!! Recommend all around! Love a place with all the good vibes and smiles!
Let's start with the negatives....there are none....this place was spot on, had a few items never would've had, amazing, the buffalo chicken skins, was one of them. Recommended items: buffalo chicken skins, potato gnocchi with chicken, butternut squash and cabbage all mixed into a bowl, the scallops, and fingerling purple potatoes.
There was a chef checking all food prior to going out. Service was spot on, they even validated our parking ticket.
I love the concept of this place. They shop local and create a menu around what's good. It's expensive, but I feel like it's priced exactly how it should be. Eating out should be an occasional thing with cost factored in.
I got the potato gnocchi, which included chicken and spring vegetables. It was cooked to perfection. But, one little thing and this isn't a complaint, and probably just a personal preference, it really could have used some salt.
My daughter got THE best burger I've ever had. Maybe the burger got all the salt.
Anyway, the waite staff was super attentive and made great recommendations. The ambiance is cozy and comfortable (to each their own on the wall decor 😂) - I will definitely try this place again!
Great place to dine in downtown Charlotte. It is conveniently located within walking distance of the Spectrum Center. The menu has something for everyone. The food is reasonably priced and expertly prepared. You definitely get a lot of food for the cost. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and give great suggestions. I will definitely be back when attending an event in the area.
The food was great. Loved the bar atmosphere. When we got to the table it was close to the chefs area. It was a little loud for a quiet dinner. If you can get seated farther from the kitchen I think it's an amazing place.
I had a half bbq chicken and fries which was awesome. The portions are large and easily shareable. My wife had the flank steak and butter beans which she said brought her back to her childhood.
Overall a great place to eat.
I came alone on workcation (from Atlanta) and was impressed with this spot. With the downstairs /upstairs set up, this restaurant is perfect for any occasion. The menu is a la carte, so heads up, you'll need to order an entree + sides separately. I got the grilled salmon, brussels, and au gratin potatoes. The potatoes were excellent. The salmon and brussels were pretty good but the potatoes were the star of the show. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The only struggle of the evening was parking--I parked in a deck, then took an elevator to an escalator. Other than that, great drinks and food. Watch out for the bill, it creeps up on you like a really good drink 😅
One of the best meals we've had!!
First of all, the place looks nice, cosy, and inviting.
The bartender/waiter was very friendly and the service we got was amazing. He also made us great, balanced, and flavorful cocktails.
The food was amazing!! We got the spinach salad, which was fresh and had an amazing dressing to it. A flank steak sandwich with pickled jalapenos that gave it a nice kick, with a side of incredible grits with bacon bits. And we also got the side of Mac and cheese that were creamy and delicious.
We finished our meal with a chocolate cake, with salted caramel, that was one of the best I ever had, and a scoop of whipped cream. Surprisingly the dish was not as sweet as I thought, and was a great ending to the meal. We also got the coconut cake, which was simple but very good, and again, not too sweet.
It is definitely a great place, with impeccable service, and amazing food and drinks.
I'll definitely try and come back here before I leave!
I visited here before a concert and was incredibly impressed. The atmosphere was incredibly comfortable, with excellent and private booths. And the food was fantastic. I tried the Buffalo chicken skins, and they were delicious. And their cocktails were also incredible. So beautifully presented and mixed to perfection. And on top of all of this, the service was outstanding too: efficient and so welcoming. I found my new favorite restaurant in Charlotte. I can't wait to come back. Thank you, Roosters!
Great craft beer! Really enjoyed the Party Starter Marzen and Rise Tattoo Red. Buttery-lemon salmon and au gratin potatoes were delicious and filling. Lots of potatoes. Atmosphere is popping.
Oh yeah, fabulous farm-to-table restaurant with excellent IPA. Small, intimate, but not too noisy. Close to the convention center. All the good was excellent.
Really liked this place, the food was very tasty. The service was quick and nice. Prices were reasonable.
Attended Rooster’s for the first time before heading to a Hornets game as a early Christmas gift. It was one of the best dining experiences I had in 2022. Carly our server was fantastic, and super knowledgeable about the menu which I appreciate. She was accommodating to all of our requests and timely in doing so. Starting off the pizza and bisque were outstanding. The bisque had a velvety texture and smooth tomato flavor complimented by the basil oil and salty goat cheese. The pizza was equally delicious and simple which I think is the best and allowed for the good ingredients to shine. Olives are a no for me, but my girlfriend enjoyed them so I’d say they pass the test as well. Lastly, the faux shrimp & grits I ordered was really well done. Shrimp grilled perfectly, with the Calabrian chili butter to give it another layer of flavor. Paired with creamy grits, you can’t go wrong. The star of the night however was the pork tenderloin. Perfectly cooked and nothing goes better with pork then apple. The two combined with the butternut squash on the side was the perfect bite. Overall, a gem of a restaurant in Charlotte and I highly recommend this place if you have yet to go.
Visiting our 21 yr old from CT.. Google this location. I'm so glad we stopped in. Marcus, our host, was such a pleasure, and in my opinion.. a great asset to the Roosters family. His suggestions and input were very valuable. We also had the pleasure to meet Christopher, who was very warm. Great employees represent a seemingly lovely establishment. The food was great and the atmosphere was equally.
My husband and l ate here on our anniversary which just so happens to be NYE. We didn’t have a reservation so we sat at the bar. We luckily didn’t have to wait. Our servers were both absolutely lovely and knew the menu so well. We asked for recommendations and they were quick to offer suggestions. The food was great and they even surprised us with a celebratory dessert. While the food was amazing, I have to say that the service is what will bring us back again and again. I wish I had asked the names of the two men who waited on us. They were phenomenal!
This was a very quaint restaurant with a big feel. The staff was great and made excellent recommendations when it came to food and wine. We had a party of 10 and they were able to seat us fairly quickly. The food was also excellent... especially the kale salad! I'd definitely come back. The service here was really great. The short rib & scallops were fantastic, as were the cocktails. I’d definitely recommend sitting in the upstairs section if possible, the atmosphere is a lot better there than the downstairs area.
Wow! My friends recommended this spot, and I am so glad they did. We sat in the upstairs dining room that features an open kitchen concept. So many of the menu items looked delicious, so our group of 4 ordered a bunch of plates to share. Everything we ate was incredible! The service was very fast and attentive. I can't wait to come back here again the next time I am in Charlotte!
Good: Great service, convenient and free parking, food was delicious. Atmosphere was beautiful (minus the animal taxidermies on the walls, personal preference I guess lol)
Bad: Price for portion. I ordered the shrimp with potatoes au gratin, which was $20 + $13. The shrimp were grilled and tasted fine, but not worth the price point. My boyfriend got the burger and fries, which he said was good but too heavy on the Dijon.
