After reading from multiple sources that this is some of the best, if not the best, sushi in Charlotte, I knew I had to try it. We came on a Friday night around 8 and it was crowded, but we were able to be seated at the bar immediately. I get the feeling that it is crowded all the time. The service
The always appear to be busy. The food does come out quick. I enjoyed seeing the sushi being made. It is a small place but a lot of people can be seated inside and there is seating outside. The presentation of the food is beautiful.
Food was excellent, and the portions were very reasonable. The place was hopping on Saturday night, but we still received quality service and food. Will definitely be coming again.
Would recommend the "Favorite" roll - the Crispy Tuna was also quite nice (those two pictured here). Also tried the Sw
Loved this beautiful little sushi restaurant.
They have won several awards and is very highly rated place in the area.
We got a several : volcano roll, dragon roll and cruncy spicy tuna.
Not the best we had but its good.
Worth the hype.
Note: since the place is small, it could be busy duting prime h
Such a great sushi place a little bit outside of the Charlotte City area. But it's definitely worth the drive! The quality of the sushi and price is unmatched. Around dinner can be busy and it's first come first serve, so be prepared for a short wait.
Waited 30 minutes to be seated because of how popular it is. Decided to get the sushi sashimi combo. Started with a hot sake, which was generally what I expected. Miso soup was good. The rice in the sushi was not of good quality and brought down the flavor and enjoyment of the meal.
Fantastic service and great sushi. We came for lunch, and they served us right away. The sushi was to die for.
I had the Tamago, king crab, bagel roll, and California roll.
New Zealand is located off Monroe along the Matthews border. It’s a small but great spot for fresh sushi.
They’re back open to in person dining post-Covid and the food continues to remain consistent after all these years. While NZ has assorted bentos and entrees, the nigiri options and rolls are t
One of my granddaughters loves sushi and begged me to take her here, so we went a few days ago. This place is all about sushi, but I'm not really a fan, but they do have other dishes. She had the "Caterpillar" and it was really good! Mine was also very good. The atmosphere is basic strip mall, so on
Loved New Zealand Cafe in Charlotte North Carolina. No frills. Thursday at 6PM and waited 30 minutes. It was worth the wait. We had six rolls, pieces of tuna and tamago. Everything was delicious. The service is really good as well!! Would definitely go back.
I have visited several times over the years, and have never been disappointed. Hands down the best sushi in the area.
Also, they have excellent options when it comes to fresh rolls, where competition usually has very similar rolls.
Love the multiple options for the birthday entree!
As far as sushi goes it's not bad, but well short of best in the city.
I like that it's a small space with a sushi bar in the center of it. The variety of their nigiri list is certainly well above average, particularly for the area. Price point for the area is also pretty good.
Quality of fish is
Tiny spot for great sushi! Delicious! And they even made me a custom roll I wanted for my birthday! Fast and good service. Sushi and food was great! Sake was hott! The prices were great too! Not overpriced like all the others!
Fresh, amazing, great tasting food every time. Stumbled across New Zealand and haven’t went any other place since then. Every time my son comes to town we make sure to go and enjoy the BEST sushi around.
Great sushi. I especially like the spicy tina roll. Reasonable prices. It's a popular place.
My favorite sushi place for a very reasonable price for the quality. They have an excellent selection of sushi/sushi rolls both fried and fresh.
The inside is intimate but very small. If you don't like being close to other tables this isn't your spot. The good news is their take out service is e
A friend recommended this place to me a long time ago, we finally went, it was packed for a Monday afternoon and we still got a seat super fast, the attention was first class, all the team was super helpful and really kind and friendly, I didn't have time to take a picture of the first dish (we we
One of my go-to spots for sushi! Creative rolls and always fresh! The bento boxes are an excellent deal, most not more then $8. It is small spot and can get very crowded at prime dinner time. Plan ahead to avoid the rush. Everything is made to order so the sushi can sometimes take a bit to come
My husband and I just ate here tonight and absolutely loved it. I think this might be my new favorite sushi spot. All the rolls and nigiri we got were such good quality and well crafted. Can't express how much I loved that food. And, our server Nicolas was a gentleman. It's a 10/10 place for us. We'
