So my previous review was not entirely the best because my first encounter was not great. But something was off that day i could feel it. So I thought I would give it another shot. I went back with my partner and we had a stupendous experience. The servers where answering all my questions about pricing and portion sizes. (That was the reason the first time wasn’t so good, i like the most for my money and good healthy portion sizes) This place is not the cheapest in town but it’s great fresh food made with superb ingredients. I am new to the vegan world and this place feels cozy and comfortable. Please try their buffalo cauliflower! You will thank me later!! so with that I deleted my old review because it was DEAD wrong. I have now been back 5 times. Each time I enjoyed myself and the food and i try something new each time (if it’s good portion sizes lol) but in any case will keep going back and that’s a promise!

As I embark on a plant-based diet, my husband researched and found the perfect place for our date night....Fern! Boy am I happy he took me here! Surprisingly for me, I didn't catch our server's name, but he was amazing! He answered all my questions, gave great and honest recommendations, and even conversed with me about body building on a plant-based or vegan diet. We ordered the kale salad, zucchini and carrot pasta-like dish, cauliflower bites, Brussels sprouts, and the coconut tofu dish. My husband was somehow under the impression that the "earthly" foods wouldn't fill him so he ordered much. I was happy to try it all! The dishes were so tasty, so fresh, full of flavor, did not need salt or pepper or sauce, and it was interesting yet still very practical. We ended with dessert--Pots de....can't remember the rest but this was to die for! I enjoyed every moment and morsel at this restaurant. The decor/atmosphere was original, clean, crispó, and airy. I can't wait to visit again, especially when it's warmer and the patio is open to enjoy amazing vegan-friendly meals. I need to add that I woke up this morning with a strong desire for those cauliflower buffalo bites...yes, they were THAT good.

My husband and I came here for Valentine's day dinner last night. Best food ever. Everything tasted healthy yet savory. Elegant and well presented. The cost was worth it. We've been to another vegan place but the food seemed to sit heavier on our stomachs. This didn't. Can't wait to take friends there. Or just come as a couple. I'm so glad we choose this place for Valentine's. Better then any regular five star restaurant in Charlotte!

I was invited by my cousin and her daughter to Fern for lunch this past Friday, we arrived separately a little after 2pm, I brought my dog and was seated quickly on the patio. Our waitress Tori was exceptional, attentive and friendly. We started off with the Buffalo cauliflower appetizer which is good enough to go there just for that. I had the vegan chicken (saitan) bacon (coconut) ranch sandwich with local steamed vegetables, though it didn't taste like chicken it was very delishish and I would order it again, I also got to try the vegan artichoke barigoule which was excellent. My dog thought the coconut bacon strips were real bacon and he enjoyed himself also. I'll be going back again soon.

Trendy, loud, warm, friendly, delicious. Great atmosphere, crowded so highly recommend making a reservation. Food was amazing and the portions were huge. Flatbread and cheese plate apps were big enough to share. Chimichanga and chicken parm both good, and again huge servings. The chocolate mousse was, i thought, expensive, until i saw how big it was. Definitely get your moneys worth. Can't wait to go back!

We had a wonderful time at the Lenny Boy / Fern beer dinner last night. Both the food and paired beers and kombucha were delicious. Chef Matt’s chowder was incredible! Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone whether vegan or not!

We went last night with a reservation for four. We were on time and so was the restaurant. The buffalo cauliflower is to die for! As is the Brussels sprouts with coconut! Also enjoyed 5e squash filets and the leek potato soup. Our server was attentive. We were very satisfied and will be back!

This place never disappoints. Food is amazing, menu rotates (which sometimes is disappointing when I'm looking for my fav item, but then I try something new and amazing) and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Thank you.

Great Sunday brunch spot. The Brunch will satisfy and wow all palates and diet types, from hungry man to veggie to vegan and beyond. Breakfast nachos come with cheese or tofu topping, damn good from scratch carmel and nut pancakes, eggs are in vogue also plus coffee, tea and juices.

My husband and I have eaten at Fern for brunch on Sundays occasionally and decided to try dinner last night. Amazing!! I had the “pork” seitan cutlet with lentils and cauliflower puree...my husband had the squash filet with potatoes. Plus we got to sit at the bar and watch Chef Matt and his team cook in front of our eyes. We have always enjoyed Fern but dinner last night was some of the best vegan food we have ever eaten. Thanks for a great dining experience. We will definitely be back soon!!

We were here visiting from Michigan and stopped at Fern for my vegetarian daughter's 17th biirthday. Our waitress was super sweet and helpful, and the food was wonderful! We had the Reuben, chicken parmesan and broccoli Alfredo. Portions were big enough for us to take home leftovers and tasty enough to convince my daughter's "Midwestern" friend hat a meatless meal is not only possible but can also be very enjoyable. Wish we would have had room for dessert!

Intimate atmosphere with an elevated boho eclectic feel for a lingering meal. The cauliflower wings are a must! I was underwhelmed by the bucatini and Buddha bowl. As a vegan restaurant, you really need to get your tofu right and the tofu felt like a miss. Drinks, apps and deserts were 10/10!

What an incredible restaurant! The food is exquisite! We got the Buddha bowl and the maple squash, as well as the Brussel sprouts. Everything was beautiful, delicious and had large portions. Vegan or not everyone will enjoy this restaurant!

Tried out Fern and it was delicious! The vibe was laid back and enjoyable. Great vegan food in a town that doesn’t have too much to choose from. Go try!!

10/10 I’m so pleased with this dining experience, the inside is small, but there is outdoor seating and if you have to wait, please trust that it is worth it. My husband and I tried the nachos, chicken and waffles and the Cobb salad. I highly recommend all three but I’ll definitely be back to try everything on the menu! Oh yeah, the drinks didn’t disappoint either. The sangria was my favorite and I don’t even like sangria. It was very refreshing!!

Lots of parking, no reservations on Sunday but we got there after the rush & were able to sit no problem. Service was great! Quick & friendly. Food didn’t take very long. Mac & cheese was the fave. I got the Zo boy - I didn’t like the thick bun, it made the sandwich quite dry. But the mushrooms were cooked & seasoned perfectly. My girl got a burger & enjoyed it.

I attended an early afternoon reception at Fern. It was well attended complete libations, mocktails and delicious cuisine. The passed hors d'oeuvres included rainbow roll, mango habanero sorbet, raw oysters, avocado, and a few other items. The service was outstanding during the reception. A quick chat with the owner sealed the deal for service. I'm willing to go back to attempt a full dining experience. *Update* I finally made it for dinner and the food was amazing.

Food was good, not great. Visited on 3 different occasions and tried most of the dishes. Staff were friendly but not very knowledgeable of the cuisine ingredients or preparation. Restaurant is small but very comfortable and decorated nicely. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. Overall a nice place to eat and I do recommend.
