Fantastic Chicago style pizza, and from my searching, the ONLY true Chicago deep dish pizza in Charlotte. I got this as a take out and when I got home it was still warm and FANTASTIC. Restaurant looked really cool too, really nice decor and they clearly made the pizzas in house. They do validate parking at the garage that’s designated for the Green, so don’t worry about having trouble getting there. 10/10 would recommend, and will 100% be bringing people back here because it is in the heart of uptown so you’ve got a great place to walk off that deep dish deliciousness.
I had lunch at Pete's twice. The veggie calzone was super tasty, fresh, good quality ingredients, and the sauce light and fresh, not the over garlicky heavy sauce sometimes served in pizza joints. Today I had the thin crust bacon and feta pizza and OMG. What a treat. Pete runs the place with passion and charisma. A local gem! The line at noon says it all!
This place was so nice! We were in a rush, and the employee at the counter personally checked on our meals to help us get our food on time. Everyone was so friendly, and the food was delicious!
Pete, I know you get a lot of this but I grew up in Chicago and for 40 years I enjoy Johnny’s beef, Lou Malnati’s’s pizza, etc. and what you’re pushing out of there is right on the money bro…!

But I would seriously consider opening another restaurant in the outline areas southend, south park, etc. you’d be extremely successful and I’d probably go visit three times a week…!!! LOL!!!

Really good pizza. I had deep dish pepperoni and thin crust pepperoni and they were both excellent.
Great looking place. Looks chic and clean. My order was ready when I walked in and I was met by the owner. At first glance, I thought maybe the price was high for the portion I received, but after diving in, the deep dish veggie was amazing and very filling. I can eat on this pizza for a few days. The price is worth the product received. I will be trying other menu items this week.
It's a really good pizza and fair prices. The pizza itself is not that big, but it is quite tasty, and you can tell it is fresh. We didn't have to wait too much time for the food to be ready, although they did have to remake one of ours, so we had to wait longer than expected. The only detail I didn't like much is the fact that they only had bottled water, so they charged for it. I really liked my meat lovers pizza and my wife her Margherita pizza.
Let me tell you how my experience went. I walk in the restaurant and guess who is at the cashier? Pete. The owner. I know this because after having what I would say is the best Pizza of my life, I had to go up and let the manager know. He tells me that he’s the owner. So I let him know “Man your pizza is amazing”. His response: “I didn’t make that, my employee Rose did!” Then calls over to the lady making the pizza and tells her I loved her pizza. The guy is humble, he works when there’s not enough employees, and he respects his workers. We need more restaurant owners in the world like this guy. Definitely recommend every time and I guarantee you I’ll be eating here any time I am in Charlotte. Thanks for a great experience!
The Chicago dog was excellent as it usually is when you use Vienna products. The Italian dip sandwich was something to behold. I could eat it again tomorrow. I got it spicy and the beef was juicy and tender. The gravy was so rich and filled with herbs I could drink it.
Chicago Pete’s has a wide variety of Chicago style food. It’s a pretty fair representation. Could have used celery salt in the Chicago dog but otherwise was pretty good. The pizza is exceptional.
Best pizza in Charlotte, absolutely. There are plenty of good places in Charlotte to get good pizza, but if you want GREAT, authentic Chicago style, this is it. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The food is good. Hot dogs and burgers. The service isn't as speedy as I would want at lunch time but if you are preparing good food I understand it takes longer. The homemade chips are delicious! Overall a solid lunchtime place. You can also take food and walk outside and sit on the greens.
Good food. Always fresh. Hearty portions. Regular prices are a smidge high, but catch a special and prices can't be beat. Because everything is grilled fresh, wait times can be longer, but never excessive. Consistent quality, clean. If you are craving a good burger, dog, or sausage, then Matt Chicago Dog's will not dissapoint!
More than just great Chicago style hot dogs, they have a great bacon cheeseburger that's worth the wait with a huge range of fresh toppings. I also heard they'll have Chicago style deep dish soon too. Busy during week day lunches so get there early. There's a great courtyard right outside for a fantastic patio view of the city and a park.
