I have NEVER had a bad meal at this place! The simple pad Thai with chicken becomes a true experience at Thai Orchid. The staff have always been friendly! Aesthetically it is more low-key and down home but don’t mistake this for the quality of the food and the warm atmosphere created by the workers!

Tried the wonton soup, bbq chicken, fried rice, pinapple chicken, and the peanut curry. All were super amazing!! Everyone was really happy with their meals, including my dad who really didn't want to try Thai for the first time. He wants to go back!!

Thai Orchid has been one of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte for the last 20 years! Their food is always delicious! I like very spicy food and 4-5 stars for spice level doesn’t disappoint.

One of the true hidden gems of Charlotte.. Tucked away in the Strawberry Hill shopping district, Thai Orchid has been a staple of South Charlotte for generations. Welcoming atmosphere, great service and incredible, authentic flavor. One of Charlotte’s best for a reason!

Oh my goodness. I don't know how to begin. My boss brought me here for lunch and I swear I'll bring my sweetie back for days night. First time ever eating thai and I was definitely pleased.

Pad Thai was basic with ni crushed nuts, but the Pad See Ew was on point! Service was great and prompt.

Lovely ambience. The staff was very welcoming. The menu was user friendly. The Thai food here is authentic and made with precision. I would love to try their fried fish with sauce on the side the next time I visit. It was a bit of a hassle trying to find them. They’re located tucked inside.. just give them a call and they’ll be glad to direct you.

Food here is pretty darn good. I had the Pad Prik King and the flavors mixed really nice. Best quick Thai place.

I have been a very long time customer of Thai Orchid and invited a friend to meet there last night to celebrate her birthday. It was a better meal than I have had there or any other Thai restaurant. Service was great, food presentation was lovely and the meal was absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I had number 34 and my friend had number 36. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here. It is all good. Go for it and enjoy!

I don’t know how I didn’t know about this place sooner, but I’m so glad I do now!! I’ve been ordering takeout from them for about 6 months and it’s SO GOOD. I have a gluten intolerance/allergy issues and very much appreciate that they have a variety of gluten free options that can also be made vegetarian - I’ve tried every option that fits both criteria and they’re all good. Love that they put so many vegetables in them. Every time I’ve ordered (even at peak times) my order has been ready exactly when they said it would, and I think every time has been within 15 minutes or less.

Thai food is one of my favorite so I am always searching for a good place. Overall this is pretty good. The best was the Green Curry with Chicken. As always, I love a drunken noodle but I like the noodles a bit more crispy and spicy, still great. Papaya salad was good by itself but I'm used to having more items mixed with it (green bean,, baby shrimps, peanuts) I tried it as a lettuce wrap and didn't care for that, probably would be good as a wrap if there was some meat to throw in with it. I also am happy that they isolate the hot food with foil from the Styrofoam so its not melting with your food.

We decided to give Thai Orchid a try after reading many good things about it. We absolutely agree, this is a wonderful place to get the best Thai food in Charlotte. It was very neat and tidy, nicely decorated, and comfortable. It is a place you can actually enjoy a good meal and hold a conversation you can hear for change. The food was fantastic (try the stuffed boneless chicken wings... you will be as stuffed and happy as they are, just delicious). The green curry was equally as good. The staff and owners are so nice to talk with too. We will definitely be coming back!
