Purchased a large curried goat combo (jerk chicken was the other meat) with Mac and cheese as a side and requested a pineapple drink bit was given a pineapple ginger instead. The drink was lukewarm, the Mac and cheese a bit on the salty and overcooked side and the 2 pieces of fried plantains were underripe. The curried goat was good but the jerk chicken tasted more like a baked chicken than jerk. The texture of the rice was good. The veggies needed a bit more color. There is enough seating in a clean environment and music and televisions to keep your attention while eating. Overall I'd rate this experience a 3/5.
The didn't miss at all with their cooking style. By far one of the best food spots in the city, I mean this place has unlimited amount of flavor in each bite, it's good for the soul!
meats are well seasoned sides are done good their homemade drinks phenomenal, but not completely the traditional seasonings
Absolutely delicious best food hands down. I got 3 plates and we had enough to eat the next day. They give you a nice amount of food and it's flavored to perfection. Well worth my 40 minute drive. We will be back.
food was amazing staff was nice as hell real great spot not too expensive niether
This is my second time DoorDash. And the food is amazing. I would definitely order from here. Thank you
Looking for some authentic Jamaican food ? The Caribbean Hut is where it’s at, they have been around for some time now but this is your reminder to re visit .
They have 4 locations with two being here in Charlotte, one in Gastonia & the other in Clemson . Be sure when you go to try out their in house juices I fell in love with the Sorrel flavor which is a Jamaican flower, I’m obsessed with ginger and I could taste a lot of ginger in this drink .They have other juices in house such as sea moss & more .
We lucked up and were able to try their famous curry shrimp with coconut milk and great balls of fire that dish alone sparked all my foodie needs for that day. Also tried the steamed snapper which was super flavorful, the oxtail were some of the best I have had in a long time. The jerk chicken hit the spot as well and I felt like a fat rat when I left lol .
The entire vibe is irie! I felt like I was transported to a joint in Negril. The food and atmosphere are definitely Caribbean. My curry goat and callaloo was to die for. Everything is delicious and authentic. They have all the Jamaican wants, Ting, Red Strip, Malta. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
I visit here quite often. I always get the Curry Chicken Plate and my husband always gets the Jerk Chicken Plate. It comes with Callaloo along with rice and beans plus they also give us plantains. The meal is quite filling. It takes both of us two days to finish the meal. Everything is good. The plantains are hit or miss depending on the day. I have gotten the coco bread as well; and it's decent.
My husband while visiting Charlotte wanted some Caribbean food and His sister suggested this place. He loved every bite. We are all foodies. Not only did the food look good but it tasted great. He will definitely return again soon.
Great food and service, I get my wife beef Patty every week. I really like their home made drinks like the pineapple ginger drink.
Caribbean Hut is my go to spot when I want Jamaican food. 9x out of 10 I order Oxtail. The dish is very flavorful and the meat is always tender. The rice and peas are not dry at all. The line does move slow so I would suggest calling in your order should you happen to be in a rush.
