Some of the Best Noodles & Food I've had ever! Just enough meat to noodles & heat ratio. The variety of dumplings & noodle choices are out of this world. Can't say anything but greatness about this location. There's a reason it's one of the busiest locations here make sure to check them out & order a few of everything you can't go wrong 10/10 ☺️
Everytime I come to optimist hall this is where I go. The service is always mediocre but the food is to die for and keeps me coming back. I tried something new this time with the pork belly and mushroom dumplings. It comes with chili oil on top but I always get it on the side for controlled dipping. The dumplings were well stuffed, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. Partnered with the rice is the best combination ever. I want to try their noodles but they are too spicy for me. Which modifications were an option to make it less spicy. Welp, until then I will continue to come and ordered the variety of dumplings. Definitely a must try!
Shrim&chicken dumplings officially my favorite. It’s my first time and i really liked the food, service was quick, wait was about 10 minutes. Chili sauce is spicy but not burning your mouth, i am not spice food lover but this was fine by me. If you crave dumplings try this place, you won’t regret it.
This was an interesting dining experience! I should have done my reading and saw that the dumplings were going to be spicy— they certainly had a kick to them! I had to save them for a later time, and they were actually quite good refrigerated. We ordered the pork and chives dumplings, the sweet pork belly dumplings, and the dan dan noodles. The flavor of these was amazing and overwhelming. It took about 10 minutes for us to get our food after ordering, which I was pretty surprised by because there was a long line! I highly recommend trying this place if you can handle your spice.
Found this spot by coincidence and was excited to try their Dan Dan noodles… I’ve had them previously while in Philly and it’s been hard to find anyone that makes them in GA. so I was ready to order! Sadly, I was not happy…it was nothing like what I’ve tried before. The noodles were like spaghetti and overall it tasted nothing close to what I’ve tasted before. We also had their scallion pancakes and that did not disappoint! It was nice, crisp, and perfectly fried! The customer service was amazing especially being as busy as I they were. The young lady took orders and answered questions with a smile and no hesitation.
The dumplings were nice. I liked the shrimp and chicken but the soup dumplings flavor was awesome. The only problem is how small they are. Do not plan to share the soup dumplings.
I love the Chengdu dumplings here! I crave them frequently and probably eat them about once a week.
The line can get long, since The Dumpling Lady is very popular.
I liked the scallion pancakes, but the one time that I ordered them, my order took AGES. I do not suggest ordering them if the place is busy.
One of the most popular spots in Optimist Hall! There will likely be a line but the cashier is always working their hardest to get orders through and we only had to wait about five minutes for the food. Overall Optimist Hall can get very busy and crowded, but this is a must try!
Fresh dumplings and tasty noodles. I ordered 10 pork and scallion dumplings and spicy beef noodles. The spice level of the chili sauce on the dumplings was extremely high. The filling was delicious. The spicy beef noodles had good flavors and if you love spicy noodles this is the dish for you. The restaurant is very popular and the dumplings are hand made to order so be prepared to wait for your food. My husband and I waited 20 minutes for our food on a Friday night. The prices are reasonable per dish.
Some amazing soup dumplings, and I've had some in NYC. Highly recommend and would come here again. Loved the scallion pancakes, too. The pan fried chicken dumplings were flavorful and had such a nice crunch. And, by the way, the chili oil is something you want to have by the gallon.
Great dumplings and spicy for a lot of foods but I am down. Make sure you order from the right one in south end I go a to go order recently from the optimist hall location and it wasn’t that good could have been an off night though. Only reason for 4 stars. South end gets my 5👌
We were new in town, there for the weekend for a concert, and happened upon Optimist Hall. So glad we did -- it's an amazing food collective with some delicious options. The dumplings were the breakaway star though, and I could have eaten 100 of them. We didn't plan our stay too well though, and because it was NYE when I went back to The Dumpling Lady to get more dumplings and try some of her noodles, it was already too late and they were closed. But I would have ordered two of everything they had if I could've. It is great food to have for leftovers. We don't go to Chalotte often, but I will be dreaming of those dumplings swimming in delicious chili oil until we go back :)
We order the chengdu dumpling and wonton soup. Both were amazingly delicious 😋 our first time here to try their food out and did not disappoint. I would highly recommend and would come back for me.
I researched this place before I even visited NC. Well worth it. This place is a GEM! Service is A1! The lady at the register was sooooo nice! Food didn’t take long. Taste very fresh, and flavorful. Would definitely visit again if I’m in town. If you been wanting to go, go! You won’t regret it. The sauce is soooo good!
The food was delicious! Definitely will be coming back for more :)
Ordered the chengdu style dumplings from here since it was listed as a crowd favorite on the menu.
The dumplings were very, very tasty. Flavor was a little like a chili powder based flavor. We all sampled them and everyone enjoyed them.
Would love to come back and try other dumpling options the next time as well.
