The food is pretty good diner food. The service was very slow, but they were attentive. I was concerned about what we would be eating when we sat so long waiting for our food to be brought out that I had time to notice that the whole place needed a thorough cleaning. If it looked cleaner, I would go there often. Maybe we just caught them at a bad time (4:00 ish on a Saturday). There were people constantly working, but it just seems like a place with a slow southern pace.

Such a hidden great spot! Still miss the location in Park Road shopping center. Do not miss the baked mac & cheese or cucumber & onions! Breakfast is also 👌🏼!!
As soon as I walked through the doors, I was thrown back back to the days of the Beatles. Was welcomed warmly and served quickly, got a slice of their dessert and coffee, have never had one like this anywhere, it was very very good!!
I've heard about this place since I've moved and decided to check them out since I had a day off. The breakfast special was delicious and at a good price. The coffee was good & hot and staff is really friendly. They will ask for tips in cash but they explain why & it made sense to me. I'll take my family back for dinner soon.
Sarai and all ( I will edit and add names later ) always greet my wonderful father ( Bob ) with a smile. He eats here at least 3 times a week. Tonight he picked up dinner for my fiance and me and it as always was delicious. I first met Jimmy and his wife YEARS ago at the Park Road location when I was a flight attendant and I would always bring the pilots I was flying with here when we had a long stay in Charlotte. ( I was so happy that they added a place at the Arboretum so close to home ) Here is a picture of my carry out .... ( You can never go wrong with the Fried Squash and Fried Okra )
< I also had Quiche & Cornbread> My fiance got his favorite of Baby Beef Livers smothered in Gravy and Onions. It is worth the price for a great meal from great people.
We went to Charlotte Cafe for the first time today and had very pleasant experience. Hostess and our waitress were phenomenal, very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was delicious and came to our table quickly. We walked in on a Sunday at 9:45am and there was no wait. Overall, we were very pleased and will be back!
I'm a bit baffled by the negative reviews here. I've been eating here for years, and most recently brought my parents wh were visiting. There was a bit of a wait -- to be expected as this place is popular -- but not too long. My parents are bothe elderly and PICKY eaters and the wait staff was patient and informative about the options and food ingredients.
I have NEVER had a problem with the quality of food, or the cleanliness of the establishment. My repeated business is a testament to that.
If you want good comfort food, this is the place to go.

Probably the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life, along with great customer service. Got a real homestyle feel to it. The owner was so nice and offered toys to play with for my two year old. Definitely a winner in my book.
Just left Charlotte Cafe where we had a nice breakfast with our kids. They are so family friendly and the service was excellent. Our waitress even brought me a baby spoon for our 7 month old.
