Such a cute little place and the food is delicious. Even without crazy family party of 9 they got us in and out and fed in record time and our food was perfect. Great waitstaff , super friendly !!! Don't miss the biscuits �

It's a great place to eat. The meat and three is always good, breakfast is great and now they have that smoking hot Terri waiting tables.

The lady that runs the place is very sneaky. My wife and I eat there last night and she had the beef stew that looks delicious. She eats like a bird so about half was left over which is usual. I asked Angie to please sack up that little stew left so I would have a late night snack. So what does she do, sneaks back there and filled up the stew bowl, so I had a big snack because of her. Sneaky, sneaky Angie. But I've heard of her doing this before for her customers. She goes beyond the norm. Thanks Angie, now I'm too full to go back to sleep. Thanks. I moved away from Red Bank in the late 80's so this was my first visit in a long time. To my surprise the food was good as I remembered. Great cornbread. I need to try the biscuits and gravy next morning I am by there!

I would like to clear up said statement/ review below. I for one, was in the Kim's southern restaurant yesterday. Matter of fact I work with manager. She would not take a donation cup for the veterans from lady simply because she did not have the proper documentation for a donation cup. When we set out donation cups, boots etc, we require them to have the specific and correct documentation required for said donation. This lady, however, did not have such. Also, nothing was said about our president in this conversation. This comment and review is from the employees at Kim southern restaurant. We also would like to say that we want to help and support our veterans in every way possible. We will take donation cup with proper documents. Kim Hankins, owner of this establishment, keeps this restaurant alive for the sake of loving our customers and veterans and our community. She reopened this restaurant to keep our red bank community alive and she will do everything in her power to help. We are sorry if this has offended anyone but reasonings for not allowing donation cup are stated above. We required documentation due to scammers and thief's.
This place has been freshly painted and decorated inside , the new staff is doing a great job there , the place is very clean , and would stop and eat any day other than Lilly Mays

Been coming since a kid. I love this little old restraunt! Country style. Grandma type servers. Food comes out hot and good! Only complaint is that they don't serve Mac-n-cheese everyday. :)
Good homecooking at a great price. I've been going to the Southern Restaurant for over 30 years and it's down home cooking. There daily special is less than $7.00 and includes meat and 2 vegetable with bread. My favorite night to go is Friday when it's fish night. I used to get the haddock, but have since switched to their catfish. It's the best catfish i've ever eaten and i've never been a fan of catfish, but this is to die for. Also, their breakfast can't be beat..my favorite is 2 over medium with bacon, grits and toast. Their grits are some of the best i've eaten. You can also get biscuits and gravy instead of grits and toast...all this for $4.25. Great waitresses too!!

Love it!. This is the first place I think of when I'm wanting good veggies and home-cooking. Ate dinner there tonight: had pulled pork bbq w/ mac & cheese and fried okra. Good grief it was good!! Their breakfast is also really good. It's very small and as old as Red Bank itself, but the food is always very satisfying and the waitresses never fail to call ya "hon"!

Southern Traditions Restaurant is a really sensational place to enjoy a great tasty warm meal! The dessert offered is great to! The staff is very friendly and considerate of all customers that enter the doors of the restaurant! The atmosphere in this restaurant is relaxed and pleasant! I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone desiring a great meal! This is a magnificent place to eat at for sure!

Good service, great food. The restaurant is not very big, so it makes for some tight spaces, but this is also helps create the classic southern and family-oriented atmosphere that the restaurant perfects. If you're looking for REAL southern food (i.e. you can choose mac-and-cheese as a side "vegetable") this is the place to go!
Southern Traditions Restaurant was a stupendous location to get a home style lunch the proportions were adequate. The food was hot and delicious. The staff were friendly courteous and helpful. The restaurant and its facilities were clean and well lit. The cost were very well priced.
This is an unassuming little "mom and pop" restaurant that I've driven past dozens of times without giving it a second thought. I wish I'd stopped here sooner, though! There's nothing chic or flashy about the place, but it does down home cooking well. I went for Sunday breakfast, and I say breakfast because this certainly wasn't brunch, and got a meal my grandma would have been proud to serve herself. This place knows what it is, owns it, and does it well.
Have visited here several times in past few weeks for breakfast. Excellent prices for early breakfast special. $3.50 for 2 eggs, and bacon or sausage, and 1 pancake, and grits, and coffee! Love that and can't beat it.
