I would give actually 5 stars for the pho soup, which tasted delicious and had enough meat in it. But they serve it now in plastic bowls, like other places lately, 1 star..I mean at least the hot soups should come in real ceramic bowls, it does matter! This place is clean, bathroom included.
The staff lady was very nice.
I wanted something different from what I usually get when I go to the mall. I saw the review for the spicy noodle soup (Bun Bo Hue) and had to try it. I'm so happy I did, it was the best I've ever had. I was honestly very surprised, many Pho restaurants tend too have less authentic flavor nowadays, but the food here was legit. I even heard the cook talking in the back in Vietnamese lol. Since there is already a review with a picture of the Bun Bo Hue, I only took a picture of the BBQ Pork Vermicelli dish to post. The waiter/cashier was very nice and he cleaned and disinfected the tables immediately after the guests left.
This place was good but not great. Service was slow as we waited for 15 minutes before our waitress took our order. Food came out quicker. The pho was again 4 out of 5. The spring rolls were delicious but the salt and pepper shrimp was not good. Way too much breading which is strange because the shrimp were actually pretty big. BBQ beef rice plate was pretty good too. I would go back but will probably try another place before I do.
VERY authentic dishes and Pho! If you enjoy spice, I highly recommend the 'Hue Spicy Pho' or the 'Lemongrass Soup' both tasted just like I was on vacation back in Vietnam, will eat here again forsure.
Friendly staff and always fresh Pho (it means noodle in Vietnamese). My favorite is the Pho with beef brisket, served with a side of fresh chilled bean sprouts (which you drop into the soup) and lime wedges (squeese the juice into the soup also. Don’t forget to grab the bottle of Sriracha sauce, squeeze plenty of that into the soup. It’s a-mazing, Wow!
If you have not tried this spot yet it tops every place I’ve been to in Philly. The only spots I’ve been to that make broth this good are in California.
You are missing out if you don’t give them a shot.
Their broth is probably the most flavorful I’ve ever had. They cook tendon PERFECTLY, soft and cooked down like tendon should be but still maintaining a slight chew to it. They are extremely hospitable, there is not a single thing to complain about. Anything other than a 5 star for this place is ridiculous.
So delicious and the service was nice. New favorite pho place!
