Reviews Sero's Restaurant

Read the reviews and decided to try it. Was not disappointed. All the meals we had were excellent. The portions gave us enough food for a whole meal, to be taken home, except my son's but he's a teenager. We were not super impressed with the desserts; rice pudding was good, but not great, and my daughter's ice cream tasted like a cheap brand. (I eat store brands and actually like them, but not this one.)

Good food at a great price. This is an unpretentious family diner with a large menu and very quick and friendly service. Dinners include soup or salad as well as rice pudding or ice cream for dessert. Chicken kebabs and the lamb entrees are fantastic. Vegetables could be better but the rice and french fries make up for this. Portions are large.

Surprisingly good food! That's not to say that I wasn't expecting good food, but it exceeded my expectations. I thought the cream of broccoli soup was a great temperature (hot, but not burn your tongue hot) and a good mix, the jumbo gyro was very thick with a great mix of onions, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce, along with tasty and generous lamb. The sherbet ice cream was terrific, and the price for this generous meal was surprisingly low. A great visit to a place that clearly seems to put taste first. New visit a year+ later: The soup was again just right by temperature, not burn your tongue hit, but hot. Ribs were excellent! Several Visits Later Many good dishes, dinners are good and come with desert, rice pudding is great!

Reading some of the negative reviews I would have to say they are probably total bs by some who resent the change of ownership and are racist to boot. Ignore them. My personal experience was so totally perfect I don't have words to do it justice. Shades of Paradise Lost!! It was like stepping back 35 years to the best years of recent American history, the '80s! Food quality was EXCELLENT and service prompt, attentive, and courteous. Definitely a favorite and that's saying something as I discover and rate restaurants all over America on all 48 lower states.

My husband and I moved away from the area five years ago and always love Seros but we gave this place a go and it was almost exactly the same. We both had a gyro meal combo and it was just as delicious as we remembered! I even had to take a quart of the chicken lemon rice soup home to fulfil all of my pregnancy craving dreams :)

We're in town visiting and ate at Akamas at the suggestion of our family -- as they frequent this restaurant. Noting: our family members are older and very particular eaters who usually complain about meals at other restaurants (so we knew the food must be good!). We ordered the Sunday specials: swiss steak for me and my husband ordered the fish with mac & cheese. Our family ordered a favored chicken gyro. The portions were huge and the food was absolutely perfect! Our meals came with dessert choice of ice cream, rice pudding, or jello. We opted for rice pudding and it was delicious! The coffee was perfect and the staff friendly. The restaurant is clean with a quiet atmosphere. We will definitely eat here again. The restaurant has a small bar which offers wine & liquor. We don't drink so I can't speak to the wine choices but for those who do like to have a glass of wine with dinner I thought I'd note that it is offered.
