Personally I am a little biased because I am not huge on BBQ (or I am really picky), but it wasn't bad.
We tried the Jalapeno Corn Poppers as an app. They are sort of like mini corn breads with pieces of corn, cream cheese, jalapenos, and bacon inside. They were not spicy, which I was hoping they would be. My GMA liked them and she's really picky.
I shared the Create Your Own BBQ Combo with St. Louis-Style Wet Ribs, Fried Shrimp, Curley Fries, and Collard Greens (and still had a lot to take home). My mom and GMA got the Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwhich.
The fries I liked the best out of all the food, but again, I am really picky. My mom and GMA liked their sandwhiches.
The service was great!

First, I would like to say that generally I’m a fan of Brock’s BBQ. However, my most recent visit was quite disappointing. I understand that we are currently in the midst of a global pandemic, but there is only so much you can blame on the pandemic. Businesses have been allowed to blame lack of services or lack of staffing and inflate prices due to difficulties of being able to receive product.
However, as a consumer we expected to be forgiven as we watch our bill goes up and our services diminish. If we are expected to pay higher prices for our food, businesses should be expected to balance out their service to an acceptable level. This is not what I got today when my wife and I went to Brock’s BBQ. Today, my wife and I ordered our food and it was delivered in a prompt manner, but that was not the problem. My wife’s platter arrived on an already chipped plate that the food covered the chip in the plate. While trying to bring this to our servers attention, she would not slow down enough to bring it to her attention. When you order food you expect the server or someone to come over and ask how your meal is or if you need a refill, but this did not happen once. When our server finally decided to slow down enough to ask my ask if she needed a box, my wife informed her of the chipped plate. The server gave us a very insincere apology and placed the check on the table.
When I gave my check to the young lady I informed her of my displeasure. She was more responsive to my complaint than the server was. She once again blamed the pandemic for most of concerns. Once again I agree that the pandemic has caused issues in food service, but they need to come to some kind of compromise to make patrons feel like they are paying higher prices and getting the attention they feel they are paying more of their money for.

Sides were better than the meat, but as a Texan I am going to be hard on the brisket. It seemed to be not freshly cooked. Very uniformly sliced with grill marks added. The ribs were better than the brisket and the sides were all great. The atmosphere was nice, the only reason I leave 4 stars is because of the brisket. Prices are great especially for the buffet

Brock's has been around for a long time, and with it's recent face-lift, is still going strong. The buffet is yummy 😋 and is a mainstay in this BBQ heaven! Service is top rate and don't forget to save room for the peach 🍑 cobbler!!

If you are ever in the Chester, Virginia area you would do disservice by not dining at Brock's. The service was impeccable, the barbecue sampler platter was AMAZING! The barbecue sauce was so good i bought a bottle. The owner took time out the busyness of the day just to talk with our group and that spoke volume to the group.

I had the Flounder. It was the best I have had in YEARS! Could not eat it all even though I tried hard. Staff was fabulous, friendly and fast. We will be back.

In my never-ending Tuesday quest to find the best buffet... we find this spot. Brock’s BBQ took us 30 minutes to reach from the Airport. The food was good. Fresh but very slow coming out. The beans tasted unseasoned and straight out of a can. The greens very good. The corn was ok. The mash potatoes were average. The salad bar was very simple. The meat 🍖 we’ll let me tell you.
The chicken was to die for. I try to stay away from fried foods but the seasoning on the chicken and fried livers kept pulling me back in. I LOVED it!!! The BBQ 🍗 was pretty smoky and tasty. The pulled pork was more of a shredded pork and was very good because it wasn’t stringy. Almost like chopped BBQ. Either way those where my favorite dishes.
The reason this location lost their stars. My server was very nice and friendly. So friendly that she hand picked my lemons and held them in the cup with her fingers on top of the lemons flesh so they do not fall. Gross!!! 🤮. Other than some basic health food violations. The place is worth a visit.

The food was just ok. I ordered several different things on the menu. I like to see if it's just one thing that are good at, or if it's overall great.
The pulled chicken, pork and ribs were good, but there was no BBQ char or smoke flavoring. The sides that we ordered were all lack luster (mac&cheese- cold flavorless, corn poppers very oily. Potato salad pictured is mine) .
The standouts to me were the cole slaw and tangy BBQ sauce. I think if they just switched up a couple of things they could really improve the quality of food. As of right now, it's just something to eat and it tastes like they stopped trying.
