After enjoying a satisfying lunch on a previous visit, I decided to finally try Clyde’s for dinner, and it lived up to my expectations. The service was excellent, and despite the busy atmosphere, the wait for our food was surprisingly short. The Smoked Trout Deviled Eggs were a great choice for an appetizer, and my shrimp tacos were both delicious and filling. My nephew's generous portion of Rigatoni Bolognese left enough for the next day’s leftovers. The only item that was a tad disappointing was the calamari, which was a little too heavy on the breading for my taste. All in all however, I know we will return and in fact, will now make Clyde's one of my regular dining spots.
Love the decor and atmosphere of this place! Almost like walking into a different time period. Very cool.
Lots of tables and booths available. Huge bar. Decent nearby parking. And the menu has just enough options to have a great meal.
Garrett, our waiter, gets major props. Not only was he patient and suggested meals. But he also made sure to call out gluten free items as a member of my party has an allergy. Information is everything.

Had a lovely late night dinner. The Steak Frites was soooo delicious and I had very attentive and vibrant service (even though it was almost 11:30 pm) throughout the dinner. Very relaxed and comforting atmosphere made this late dinner a memorable one!
First time at Clyde's. The portions were small but the taste was great. This is typical of restaurants of this caliber. The bottom of our salt shaker was rusted out and did not produce any salt which all of the dishes we tried desperately needed. The service was great as was the atmosphere but I only gave the atmosphere three stars because the booths were not large people friendly.

My friend and I went for happy hour (half price) oysters and Prosecco. We each got 4 of each of the three types of local oysters from the Chesapeake Bay. The oysters were served promptly on a bed of crushed ice. The dozen oysters were delightful and worth the price.
The atmosphere and service was great. Friendly hostess, attentive and knowledgeable server.
The food was excellent, especially crab and artichoke dip, oysters Rockefeller, grilled chicken wings.
This place is very cool with the theme, it's classic America. Many things with trains and airplanes. Many of the things are based on the 1930's
The food has a very large selection. Everything here was good, I found myself enjoying everything we got on the menu. They handled a big party very well and the place wasn't loud with everyone talking at the same time.
I really like the place because of the theme, just disappointed that they only have one bathroom downstairs. Otherwise it perfect. Just remember if you're older and need to use the bathroom quickly you'll wait for an elevator or have to do the stairs
I was not too happy when we decided to go to Clyde's. American cuisine is not the type I like.
I was first very impressed with the décor. I really liked the Art Deco carpet, the light fixtures, the bars, the old posters, the cars, the airplanes,and the train circulating over our head.
Everyone of us really loved the entrées.
My crab cake was the best I ever had. The fries were crispy and delicious.

Henry was our server and he did a wonderful job! Food was excellent, especially the oysters. The calamari was crispy and very delicious. The leg of lamb was outstanding and the grilled rockfish was cooked perfectly. Even what was under the fish was killer!
Clyde's is a good spot for dinner (Georgetown location is great), we went to the Chevy Chase location for brunch with a large party (12). Food was good, service started out decent but as they got busier our waiter never stopped by to check on us. We had to get our own water refills and were never once asked if we wanted a second beverage. Food came out for the first three people and then at least 10-15 more minutes passed before anyone else's food arrived. It took about 40-45 minutes from the first person's entree until the last person's entree arrived. Given automatic 20% gratuity for a large party, we were not impressed. I would not recommend this place for a large party until they can improve their service.
