Tanta is amazing. Ambiance is great - very comfortable. The place is very clean. The service was phenomenal - super friendly staff, very attentive, our server gave great recommendations, our dirty plates were cleared immediately, our waters were never empty, I wish every restaurant was this good at being on top of every little detail. Cocktails were delightful. The food was absolutely delicious - bursting with flavors, fresh, high quality ingredients, beautiful presentation, I can't wait to go back and try more items!

I love peruvian food, and I have a Tanta in Chile also, so I had big expectatives. The food is good, the service too, but the atmosphere, even they have great decorations, is mixed with american stile , loosing a little bit the peruvian experience. Altogether, I would recomend this place, the food is very good.

Tanta offers the flavors of Peru amidst the heart of Chicago. As a dedicated aficionado of Peruvian cuisine, I enjoyed my visit thoroughly. It was the perfect blend of fresh, flavorful ingredients woven into traditional recipes, enhanced by a contemporary flair. The restaurant is finely decorated and the staff was really nice! I totally suggest checking it out if you want delicious and fresh food. I’m definitely planning to go back!

What an incredible experience my family and I had at this restaurant. The atmosphere is very pleasant, incredible service from Paulino, but the best thing without a doubt is the food with its spectacular flavors. Everything was very delicious, the drinks, the starters and the main dishes. 100% recommended.

Amazing food, service, and vibe at Tanta 🔥 We ordered two pisco sours, one Royal and one Classico (both were good - Royal was slightly better in my opinion). For two people, we ordered 3 appetizers and one main dish and thought that was enough food. For apps, we did the Empanada Tasting Trio, Ceviche Clásico, and the Pollo Anticucho (grilled chicken skewer). Our main dish was the Chaufa Aeropuerto (stir fried rice with meat, shrimp, and veggies). All of the food was good, but for us the highlights were the empanadas and the Chaufa Aeropuerto rice. The empanadas were perfectly crispy, warm, and stuffed generously with fillings. In my opinion, the trio is the way to go because each empanada (corn, chicken, and brisket) has a unique and delicious flavor profile. The Chaufa Aeropuerto stir fried rice was also excellent. All of the ingredients were fresh and it was made perfectly with just the right amount of heat. Service was also excellent - Vanesa gave us a fantastic experience! Definitely visit Tanta if you can

Great vibe, great food, great service. Love the acidity and boldness of food - not shy nor held back. Pulpo (octopus) was my favorite - bright, smokey, and fruity (from the sauce).

Really nice rooftop and tasty Peruvian food. Highly recommend the empanadas, the ceviches and the octopus. Friendly servers and central location. Portion sizes could be a touch bigger but nonetheless very happy to return.

The food & drinks are always tasty & of high quality. Service is also on point. The El Chingon with the rococo pepper ice orb is my fav drink there. I always get ceviche and the octopus & anticuchon (veal heart) anticucho. Their happy hour menu changed a few months ago for the worse. Not much of a difference between HH prices & regular menu prices. Lots of other options at nearby restaurants in River North offering better specials. It’s nice they have a rooftop, but since it’s a 2 story bldg, don’t expect much of a “view”.

Peruvian food and eats in the River North area of Chicago. The food, ambiance, and servings were all on point. I’m glad I had Tanta as my first Peruvian food experience and can’t wait to try it again and tell other people about here. Food I came here with 2 other coworkers and ordered waaay too much food for us since the portions are just that big. We got a whole pollo because my coworker recommended the chicken as a must have (which I second)! But I did not expect the chicken and the fries it comes with to be as big as it was. So we ended up not being able to finish it despite it being super delicious. This was my first time getting ceviche (we got the limeno) and I loved it. The seafood was very fresh and the corn pieces were humongous. I went to look for ceviche at other places after my first time at Tanta and they just disappointed me. We got a wok dish as well and it was pretty good but it was a little wet and mushy. Not sure if the food was supposed to be like this but this was not to my preference. The fried calamari was also very good and we got it to also try the yuca fries. The wagyu beef nigiri (criollo) was very good and I would definitely get it again. Atmosphere The inside was on the darker side and gave it a nice vibe. The interior is well decorated and at the center of the room is a colorful wall of fabric. The noise level was on the noisy side though since the place was packed for a Wednesday evening. Great place for casual or fancy alike. Pricing The prices were on the slightly expensive side but this was my first time having Peruvian food so I don’t have anything to compare to. The food tasted excellent and was worth the price point. Service Service was good and the staff was nice in explaining what different things on the menu were. Other

First time in Tanta! Came here in a business trip and was perfect for the entire team. This place is hopping during happy hour and dinner, even on a weekday. Drinks are on par. Loved the dishes they had on the menu.

Enjoyed Tanta on a Thursday evening visiting Chicago for work. My good friend picked this spot - what a great choice! Had a Prickly Pear Margarita - it was ok - not much liquor frankly. Then I enjoyed a Pisco Sour!!! Oh my! I could have had ten of these! So delicious - plenty of liquor. They go down so easy! We enjoyed a few appetizers to share - including the House Chips - don’t miss those! I enjoyed the Lomo Saltado and my friend had the Half Pollo. We both cleaned our plates. Both meats were tender, flavorful, and delicious. We ate outside - on the roof - which was a beautiful atmosphere. Service was impeccable from beginning to end. Lots of couples, gatherings of friends, and families alike. I did see kids enjoying meals with their families. Would highly recommend Tanta without hesitation.

Went here for my birthday brunch and absolutely loved it, not only was the food amazing but the service was even better. The bottomless mimosas were amazing, my friends and I still rave about them. They made me feel incredible and I definitely will be going again.

Came here with friends for a birthday dinner. The staff were pleasant, but they got some of our orders mixed up. They eventually fixed the issue. The food was okay. I got the criollo, which was smaller than expected. The drinks were good. The ambiance is more of a dim-lit cozy environment, so it does not have the best lighting for pictures. We wanted to try their dessert special, but they were out. Overall, it was an okay experience.

Cozy and fun rooftop restaurant. Very interesting cocktails, tasty food. The cebiches are super-good, but really everything on the menu is worthy. Cool vibes and people, would definitely recommend it for a brunch or celebration.

Stopped in for happy hour. We had the ceviche “Lima-style”. No fish but rather octopus and shrimp. Loved the Peruvian corn two ways in it too. Happy hour is bar only-get there early to get a seat. Beer specials were decent too. We will definitely be back for dinner sometime.
