Exceptional experience. We came before a second city show and sat in the bar area. The staff took really good care of us and were very friendly. They held onto our leftovers while we went to the show and gave it back to us after. The food was delicious and the wine was priced appropriately.
This is an excellent choice for quality Italian cuisine in a traditional yet cozy setting.
From the appetizers, the Calamari alla Grigila is exceptional — some of the best-grilled squid I have had, perfectly balanced with a hint of lemon. The fettuccine with shrimp and scallops is rich and well flavored, paired with generous seafood pieces. The dessert options, including tiramisu and cheesecakes, were very satisfying.
Overall, it's a fantastic Italian dining experience with swift service, amazing food, and a warm atmosphere, all at a reasonable price.
Went there to celebrate my daughters belated birthday. When you enter, you step back in time The ambiances was great. The food was awesome and plenty of it. I had Vesper martini , it carried a punch.Service was awesome.Tiramisu is light and yummy.👍👍
Great authentic Italian food and very reasonably priced. This place has been around for over 25 years and a local favorite. Waitstaff was great, quick service, kind and friendly. Nice ambience, with outdoor, indoor seating. Easy access with public parking next door.
We ordered Mussels, Little Neck Clams and grilled Calamari for appetizers. For dinner we ordered the special Alsambuca with veal shank and the Cocchiglie Meditteranea. Both were delicious. Ordered Tiramisu for dessert! Yum.
Absolutely loved this place! Olive oil and Parmesan for bread dipping was delicious. Caprese salad was excellent. Homemade pasta with their red sauce with sausage was amazing.
Their decaf cappuccino was as good as it gets. We had to split a large cannoli with the coffee!
Probably the best Italian food I ever had, and everything else was phenomenal including the atmosphere, ambience, and especially the 6-star service from Adan.
Yumm!! Had the seashell pasta in tomato sauce with sausage — delicious. The calamari was also good, hot and fresh! My friend got the tortellini and her family got the night’s specials. The service was great and everyone was very friendly.
Topo Gigio Ristorante is an Italian restaurant in Chicago that offers modern Tuscan cuisine. It is located in Old Town, on Wells Street. It is one of the best Italian restaurants in Chicago and a favorite for locals and visitors for over 25 years. I would highly recommend making reservations. In fact, it was very crowded when I visited. The portions are huge. If you are eating with two people, feel free to share a dish. The prices are very fair and the team is very friendly and professional.
Definitely suggest reservations, was about a 45 minute wait. Food and drinks were delicious. I love when everyone food comes out hot and fresh and it did! Service was good. Plan to go back and try something else
Beautiful place with great food. The veal was decent, but the pasta was delicious. Definitely plan on going back to try some more of their pasta dishes, which are all around $20 each.
