awesome! went here twice while in town for the marathon. everything was good and quick. very diner feel. You get to choose if you want 3 pancakes or toast, and you can add fillings / topping to the pancakes instead of having just plain. our table got the skillet / corned beef hash / crepes / eggs + sausage and everything was good.
If you're used to have breakfast (substantial breakfast, not just coffee and some bread/bagel) before 11 a.m. and you're in or near the magnificent mile in Chicago then this place is for you, reasonable prices, exceptional service and a great variety of dishes to choose from.
The amount in every dish is generous and with a decent flavor.
We've eaten here two days of our vacation (so far). The western skillet, the veggie skillet, the Santa Fe omelette, and the build-your-own skillet are all great choices. The buttermilk pancakes are so good. The service is friendly and FAST. Dress accordingly because it is very warm inside because it's a small place that's usually crammed with people, but that's always a good sign for a food place. There was a line one morning but we were seated almost immediately because we were a party of two. You do share tables with other people but I never felt like we were on top of each other.
Best Gold Coast breakfast spot. Open until around 3pm. Outside seating are is great but it might have little more waiting time. Plates are around 14-16 usd.
This place you better be hungry you get a lot of great food. I would prefer a little less and not as expensive, but I have no complaints. I feel we got what we paid for. I just didn't need that much
Great location. Friendly atmosphere. The wait line to get a table can appear very long, but moves fast. Staff are accommodating. Food is always good no matter the location. Highly recommend.

Amazing Pancakes! One of the best pancakes I’ve ever had and the crepes too. Cute little place, excellent food and great service. Only downside is they don’t take reservations so lines can be pretty long sometimes.

Love the Original Pancake House. Been to six different locations in four states. The service was great. Love the coffee and fresh squeezed OJ . Try the Dutch Baby pancake with strawberries OMG...
If you are looking for an American breakfast place in Chicago, I recommend this place.

Bustling breakfast spot that knows what it’s strengths are. Pancakes were fluffy, light, and tasty. I got the pigs in a blanket, which are pancake wrapped sausages. Very solid breakfast. My girlfriend got the eggs Benedict which was below average at best. Get the pancakes if you come here. It’s called the original pancake house after all. 7.3/10
Best breakfast spot ever. We made this our breakfast spot to go to whilein chicago. I know there are many more places. But everything was amazing.

Warm, welcoming spot for a good breakfast. The pancakes—not surprisingly—were light, fluffy, and delicious. I was a visitor, but it seemed like there were plenty of locals and regulars there. I can see why. Reasonable prices, excellent wait staff, and a great breakfast with fresh, hot coffee. Fantastic.
Food is very tasty and obviously the pancakes are classic. Been coming here for years and slowly the prices have been rising and portions getting to be only LARGE. If you want a simple diner food forget it. Only large portions. But that’s OK if you want that. Good coffee and cozy atmosphere.
