Great place for comfort food or a quick bite. We just wanted something light and had soup and sweet potato fries. Very good and fast. The vegan chili is spicy (yum!) and the fries are flavorful. The chicken tortilla soup was excellent too.
Great little breakfast/lunch diner. A short hike off the tourist trail, but worth the effort. Not quite as busy as some of the places up top, and with better food to boot. There will still likely be a wait here but we were told 10 minutes and it was exactly 10 minutes. Comprehensive selection of food that came really quickly and was fresh and delicious. Seems to be something on the menu for everyone. Staff was friendly and efficient. Pay on your way out, don't wait for a check! Highly recommend for breakfast.
Secluded and quiet location. Very short wait time for how busy they were. We both had crepes. The food was amazing and ready super quick. The cappuccino left a bit to be desired but was not terrible. The restaurant is decorated very nicely. There is also bar seating available. I would highly recommend this place as it's one of the best breakfasts we had in Chicago!

Damn this breakfast joint was bomb. It was so good I went two days in a row lol. First, I looooved that they actually served you freshly squeezed orange juice! It was such a great surprise. The service is so on point, the servers were kind, friendly and got everything right. I got The Denver and berry pancakes. The Denver had so much flavor and perfectly salted and the pancakes were phenomenally fluffy and warm. Coffee was also really tasty. I will be damn sad to not have this spot in Philly. Highly recommended by a fellow foodie!
I had the most awesome time at Eggy’s. The food was ok, however the conversation with my waiter and waitress was even better.
Very busy restaurant. The hostess was also very nice.
Loved this place! Food was delish, fresh and served hot. Bloody Mary's were great! Service was good. Parking a little difficult. Definitely a place to frequent often!
We recently stayed in Chicago for five nights and visited several diners for breakfast. Eggy's was our far and away favourite place. Service was friendly, timely and our breakfast was great.
Buttermilk pancakes were fluffy, side of bacon and biscuits w/ gravy were all just great, everything tasted exactly as they should.
We also liked the Avocado Toast w/ fruit cup from the Healthy Food section of the menu. This was a quality healthy option. Coffee served during breakfast was just fine.
This place was really good. We got two different breakfast skillets, and I give them a five stars because it only cost one extra dollar to make your regular pancake a speciality pancake. We had to wait for around an hour to be seated on a Saturday morning, so get there early. Good food though
Eggy’s Diner did a great job accommodating our large group of 12 people (split into a table of 4 and a table of 8) and did their best to be flexible and as quick as possible with their service. Although there was some confusion as to which tables ordered first (somehow we were only approached to order after the two tables who were seated after us had placed their order), it still felt like the staff was trying their best to give our large group a positive experience. The mimosas and the Puerco Picante Skillet were delicious. Definitely a great spot to choose for brunch!
Cozy little diner off the main thoroughfare. Staff was friendly and food was good. Nothing mind blowing but hearty. My boyfriend and I split an egg combo and we both left feeling full and satisfied.
Very clean establishment and the mimosas were 🔥.... Great Portions and our server was great... They give a lot of food and food comes out very quickly..... This is a go brunch spot.... Good prices and got seated quickly. Get the pancakes. Very fluffy.
My family enjoyed our breakfast. Wait staff was very attentive. My daughter's French Toast had a staple in it. Eek! We were not charged for her entree. Overall, this was a great experience.
Very cozy, staff was incredibly nice. I got the cheapest thing on the menu cuz my friend and I forgot our wallets so in total we paid $30 for two people.
Came here for brunch on a weekday. The inside ambience was nice and bright. Loved the vibes. Since we came on a weekday it wasn't too busy, if anything, the service was just a little bit slow.
We ordered the New York French Toast, Eggy's Combo, and Gyro Omelet. I Food was overall pretty good. The servings were huge! I got the french toast and I really enjoyed the blueberry compote. The banana cream inside the french toast was pretty good too, just a bit too much cream towards the center of the french toast. We also ordered orange juice and some coffee, which was overall decent! My friend didn't really like the orange juice.
Great spot near Navy Pier in Chicago. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced, especially so close to the Loop. Light and open atmosphere and great service. An easy recommendation to stop by for breakfast and a mimosa!
We saw good reviews about this place, so we walked to try it. A big line and around 30-40 min of waiting (Sunday at 9:30 am), we asked the hostess If we can sit at the bar, she said the place at the corner was tiny but we can look it up and check if we wanna stay, that was so nice of her to give us the opportunity to sat there, we were fine, our server was kind and gave us options. Food tasted original, not processed. Fresh banana shake, fluffy pancakes even the syrup tasted good. Prices were not expensive and good quantity for value.
This was probably the best breakfast we've had in Chicago. I got the Nutella crunchy french toast. It was so incredibly delicious. The bananas were warm and caramelized. The strawberries were cold and refreshing in contrast and the entire thing was stuffed with warm gooey peanut butter and drizzled in Nutella. I could only eat half of it. We got the churros which were filled with strawberries and maybe cheesecake/cream cheese. They were yummy and it was a generous portion. My husband got the breakfast poutine and it was so unique and delicious. The cheese curds were fried and the gravy was perfect. We had about a 20 minute wait on a Saturday morning. Apparently you can put your name on the list through Yelp, which we didn't do and it was still reasonable. They text you so we went and sat by the dog park across the street and watched the dogs while we waited. We will definitely return here on our next visit to Chicago.
Loved this place! Came back home to Chicago for the first time in almost 6 years, and this place is definitely something to brag about!!! There was a bit of a wait, but after eating there, I see why!! Food was absolutely DELICIOUS!! My mom and I thought it was a family owned joint, with how well everything was cooked! Service was excellent, even sitting at the bar. Going back to the food, talk about huge portions!! I could barely finish my meal, my mom wasn't able to, but that's a good thing! You definitely get your money's worth at Eggy's. I recommend this place over an ihop or other chain any day! ❤️
Worth the wait for a seat on Eggy’s Diner. BIG delicious breakfast. We ordered omelettes and they come with side potatoes + one toast or one big pancake. The coffee is terrible, but the staff is friendly and quick. Not the best breakfast I’ve ever had in Chicago but pretty good and big portions!
