Omg! This place was great.. the food was really good and the staff was great. Definitely a must if your in Chicago.
My wife and I were attending a conference in Chicago! We googled and found this place! Food and service were top notch! We were told about the lounge downstairs! Beautiful and cosy! We went back the next night for dinner again! We will definitely go back when we are in Chicago! Highly recommend! The sloppy Sunday dessert is awesome!
Nice quality and variety of food & drink for a rather large professional graduation event. Upscale family-style dinner format allowed sampling of the course selections. Nice space with young attentive service staff, great Gold Coast location. Recommended.
You won't have to eat for a couple of days with the generous portion of veal parmagiana. As the grandson of Calabrese immigrants, I give Francesca's 2 thumbs up--way up!

The food and service were excellent. I had the beef carpaccio, which was amazing and the pollo de avia? or something like that, chicken with prosciutto and fresh motzarella. I would recommend and go again.
This place is amazing. I have never had better Italian food in my life! Ate there for Christmas and returned for my birthday. This place is a must when visiting Chicago.

We were staying at a hotel nearby and decided to give it a try. The food was amazing, my friend loved his wine ... and the staff were so very friendly and helpful. This will be a must stop at restaurant every time he comes back to Chicago (or that's what he said). Thanks for making it an amazing night.

We chose this restaurant because I had a Francesca's gift card and this location was perfect to our evening of events as we celebrated a family birthday. When I made the reservation, I asked for a "nice table" since it was a special occasion. We were given a beautiful table in the downstairs wine bar. The waiter was wonderful and the food-EXCELLENT plus very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!
We were in Chicago for a play and stopped in this restaurant for lunch. They were serving brunch and it was outstanding. A hidden gem on Chestnut.
Quite simply outstanding! The pasta was excellent and service second to none.
We came on a busy Saturday night. The service was excellent, including suggestions for a nice wine. The food arrived in a timely manner and was excellent. My very large piece of carrot cake ( the dessert special) was to die for! To top it off, the live jazz trio was wonderful. A great experience.
Great group dinner. A number of ADA Dentists had a group dinner. Service and cocktails and hors d'oeuvres were very good and the dinner was served Family Style. Each course was delicious and the ambiance was perfect
This review has been a long time coming! One year ago today we had the most amazing rehearsal dinner for our son and his wife. The staff took care of all the decorations I dropped off earlier in the day, the event coordinator was beyond easy and helpful to work with. The servers that night were outstanding from service to wine reccomdations. I belive there names were Tiffiny and Sarah. The food was excellent! The guests loved it all as did we. Thank you for making this day extraordinary 💕
Cute place w warm ambience with good food in the Gold Coast across from the theater. Food is a bit salty but it’s good and the pasta was al Dente and good quality plus chewy and fresh.

Overall a great little place! I just wish there was more food or bigger serving size for the price. Service was great too.
When it's GOOD it's really GOOD....this place was first class all around. We had the best servers ever, Sarah and Tiffiny, and they served with grace and passion. Our food started with group appetizers (flavorful), main course (5 star), and finished with the best cheese cake I've ever had.
The Ambience was classy and quaint for a group.

This is a wonderful old school classic Italian restaurant. Service was fantastic. Don't expect new depends on Italian classic recipes. Expect the real thing. We had their pasta special and one of their halibut entrees which was incredible. My partner says the Halibut was melt in your mouth good.
We enjoyed this place after for dinner on our last night in Chicago. It was in walking distance from our hotel. The only issue I had was the pasta was a little too al dented for my taste but the sauce was great!! The app we ordered was Italian bread topped with whipped ricotta cheese, bacon, asparagus, then drizzled in honey!!! Freaking delicious
Hands down the best pasta I’ve ever had. My wife and I enjoyed every aspect of this meal. 10/10, 5/5, you name it. Absolutely incredible! The cocktails were delicious too!
This was probably my best Italian meal in Chicago since I started coming 6 years ago. The wines by the glass were all fantastic. The bread was lovely. We ordered what our waiter, Mauricio, recommended (he had great recommendations for my vegetarian husband, too!). The vodka sauce with sausage was one of my favorite dishes ever and my husband really enjoyed the rigatoni eggplant in a spicy red sauce. Francesca's On Chestnut is a busy, upscale, warm and friendly festive vibe for the holidays! Also, the bill was really reasonable!!

Highly recommend this place! They were able to accommodate us on short notice. 3 people helped us to get sited moving tables around, bringing high chair and crayons for the kids. They made it look like they are a team, every single person knew what she/he was supposed to do to make things as much comfortable and easy for our big family as it possible. The food is delicious, we actually ordered more than we could eat as the size of the appetizer and main course is significant. I can repeat again that every single bite tasted great and we really enjoyed the place. We will come back there many times for sure.
My daughter and I had a lovely lunch here. Our waiter was top notch. Food was wonderful! My daughter said it was the best spaghetti and meat balls that she'd EVER had. Our waiter even let me in on the secret when she was out of ear shot - butter ;)
