This place was recommended by our guide Ben for the best Chicago dogs, Downtown Dogs did not disappoint. We took them next door to the bar and enjoyed with a beer at the patio table.
nice small place that has now opened up outside seating. Great food at a great price
Really good. Charcoal boil flavor...... Chicago style!!!!! I'll be back soon!
Hands-down I absolutely love this place the food was amazing and on point
Great service. Awesome dogs. Decor is rad. I would highly recommend.
Had the Downtown Dog with everything (except peppers) and it was pretty much the best hot dog I have ever had! Delicious!!
Fast and friendly service, great dogs, location is easy to get to on foot from the Loop. Excellent first Chicago Dog experience.
My first trip to the Windy City and I had to find out what the deal was in regards to the hot dogs that I'd heard so much about. Got 2 of "The Works" and they were fantastic! When I return back to Chi-Town (and I will), I will most definitely return to Downtown Dogs. Great food as well as great service!

Downtown dog with everything is the best way to go!!!! Fries and zucchini are awesome too!
Enjoyed my char dog - with almost everything on it(no peppers no onion). Delicious! My sister had grilled cheese and tomato and that was great too.
Great option for a tasty, all-beef, hot dog at an affordable price, especially when you're on the go. If hot dogs aren't your thing, the chicken sandwich is a great option as well. Friendly service. No place to sit down, but there's a small stand-up counter where you can eat inside.
Great staff friendly and smily and fast service
If you looking for burger joint this is not the one from my experience, I ordered the back yard single burger.

What can I say.. the staff here is what makes the place! Super friendly and the food is everything you could ask for in a hotdog/burger place. Clean, quality and at a great price. Check this location out when you’re in Chicago or if you live here.
I give this place 5⭐️
Jerry (the pigeon) gives it 5.5⭐️

at the risk of sounding like a broken record, this was a simply amazing hot dog. it's fairly cheap at around $5, and the Chicago hot dog was stellar. The other reviews and its reputation are right on point! keep up the good work and keep those prices low!
I like Devil Dawgs a lot. The prices are fair and the food is really good. They have a good selection so even vegans can eat here.
Came here to satisfy my need for a Chicago Dog in Chicago. I picked the right place! A smaller joint it has a counter to eat at as well as some tables outside. We stood and enjoyed two fabulous Chicago Dogs with Tater Tots!
Great, fast service! Juan B was behind the counter moving food in and out with speed.
Highly recommend Devil Dawgs!
Awesome place! I got the vegan dog chicago style, and my husband got the chicago style with a bag of fries. Everything was soo good (esp the fries!). Prices are pretty cheap and a regular sized dog with fries is very filling. Will definitely be back to try the other dog styles.
Saw this place when searching for a hotdog joint on Google Maps. Went there looking for a sit down place but this was takeout only. There was a spot at the counter by the window so we were able to enjoy our food while we were there. I got the Big Chicago Dog, fries and a chocolate shake. Might be the best hot dog I’ve had. Shake was fantastic. Really enjoyed it will definitely go there again but would like to find a location with seating to sit down and relax after the long walk to get there.
The most important thing is “is the Chicago dog good?” and here it was great! Tried the big Chicago dog and the Maxwell Street Polish sausage. I liked them both but I loved the Chicago dog here. I woke up dreaming about it.
Small spot. Had to stand eating at a counter, but that was good because I didn’t drip mustard on my shirt. Clean spot. I’ll be back!
As a fairly recent new resident to Chicago (within the last 3 years), I think Devil Dawgs is up there when it comes to hot dogs in city.
Although I don't eat hot dogs often, I always know what to expect when I come to a Devil Dawgs, and this location in particular had a really friendly gentleman working the counter.
My friend was trying her first "authentic" Chicago dog ever and she loved it. I got something a little more spicy as recommended from the guy, and it was fantastic. Every bite was a amazing.
This particular location is small compared to others I have been to, so if you're not taking it to-go, expect to either stand by the window (they have a place to stand and eat with a surface to place your food), or eat outside on the patio which is probably mostly only recommended during the summer.
Amazing food with amazing taste, authentic city dog experience and worth the stop. Every bite delicious and I reflected on how good it was until I took the next bite.
Whenever I go to Chicago I must stop at one of the three locations. Some of the best smash burgers I've ever had. Simple no frills burgers. The breakfast burger is my favorite. And the fries are fantastic. Love that everything is cooked to order. Wife had a Chicago style dog for her first time and loved it. The staff was so friendly.
I'd heard that Chicago Dogs were good, and that they only came with mustard, never ketchup. I hadn't realised how different from a regular hot-dog they are, though. This was the best hot dog I've had, and it's not close, but it's almost not a fair comparison, because this is such a cut above!
The tater tots and awesome sauce were really great too, really crispy. Amazing stuff.
It’s so nice to have a place in Chicago that offers a vegan dog, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to check it out. I got the vegan dog classic Chicago style and my boyfriend got the regular Chicago dog. I can’t say enough good things about it! One of the best dogs I’ve had and the workers were super helpful and you could tell they take a lot of pride in what they serve up! I will definitely be back whenever I’m in Chicago.
This was the last spot I hit in Chicago during my summer trip there. I saved the ‘Chicago Hot Dog’ for last because it’s the perhaps the most iconic food associated with the city. I got the ‘Chicago Dog’ along with a bag o’ fries. I didn’t realize that Chicago Hot Dogs have this green colored relish on them. Definitely a generous amount of food coloring on their. Also the huge slice of tomato was a surprise. The hot dog was excellent. The onions added a nice crunch and the bun was soft. The fries were excellent. They have chairs and tables out front so it’s a nice place to chill and have a hot dog while watching the busy street across from you. Spent about $10 there. Very affordable. They are credit/debit card only. No cash.
Best chicken fingers in the city and the ranch is out of this world! French fries are also made from real potatoes and are always perfectly crispy. My favorite go to in the city. Service is excellent and food is delicious. Highly recommend!
Best hot dogs I've had in Chicago. Simply amazing. The shakes are also incredible, and they also have a decent chicken sandwich for when the Chik FIL A craving hits on a Sunday. I do wish they carried big burgers instead of sliders. They're just too small.
Nice to have a vegan option with plenty of toppings to choose from!! A lot of their competitors only serve vegan dogs Chicago-style (I’m just not an tomato/onion/relish person!) Great prices especially for downtown. Service is good and most importantly the food is tasty.
Devil Dawgs was awesome! Fast service perfect patio seating! We were happy to stop by and try the "Its not a corndawg" the tots and onion rings were perfectly hot and fresh as well! ❤
