Visiting Chicago to celebrate my wife’s birthday we decided to have dinner at Gibson’s because it seemed to have an elegant atmosphere and menu with good views down the river. The food was very good with prices similar to other steakhouses. The view was as advertised and the service was outstanding. The one downside was the tables were very close together and it was a much louder, less intimate dining experience than we expected. We still had a wonderful evening.
My husband & I celebrated our 7th anniversary here and had a wonderful time. We requested a table with a view when making our reservations which was so beautiful. Our food was delicious and the service was excellent. Bonus! The restaurant brought us an anniversary slice of mousse cake which was the perfect sweet ending to a great night. We will be back to try the baked Alaska that was being flambéed at a few tables near by!
Fantastic views of the city, especially at night! Food was great. I recommend the vodka rigatoni, sea bass, chocolate dessert, Brussels sprout and the crab bisque. Excellent mashed potatoes! Salads were ok and the seafood tower was good but expensive for the amount of seafood plus no substitutions on the seafood tower were permitted. Friendly service, very attentive! One downfall…. No kids menu for children.
Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Chicago! We went for our first wedding anniversary and from the second we walked in, we were celebrated!! William, the GM lead us to our table and had the most welcoming energy. Gabriel was our waiter and he provided us with incredible service from start to finish. We started with a few yummy oysters and Caesar salad. I highly recommend the scallop risotto for an entree, & we also enjoyed a chicago cut steak with charred asparagus. We were given a complimentary dessert which paired very well with our espresso martinis (best in the city by far). Overall a great dining experience and we will definitely be returning!!! Next time I want to try the octopus and Italia meatballs.
Gibson's Italia is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped into the bar, every aspect of our experience was nothing short of exceptional, but it was the seamless service by our server, Billy, that truly elevated our evening. His recommendations were spot on, guiding us through an exquisite culinary journey that included the Tomahawk steak, the tantalizingly spicy rigatoni, and the divine scallop risotto. The entire experience was an absolute triumph! Gibson's Italia isn't just a restaurant; it's the pinnacle of taste, service, and ambiance.
We enjoyed an incredible evening at Gibsons. Started with drinks, oysters and a Caesar salad, then caccio e pepe and the Chicago cut steak. Everything was so tasty with a quality of service to match a Michelin starred restaurant. Our waiter, Josh, was so helpful and kind. I hope to be back very soon!
This place exceeded my high expectations. Wow. What a view. What an experience. The service was incredible. This restaurant is an upscale steakhouse combined with Italian classics. We ordered cocktails, brussel sprouts, pasta, and shared a steak. Everything was on point. I have nothing to say except that this was one of the high points in my Chicago trip. But again, the view, what a view! This is the spot worth splurging on a date! I would give this spot 6 stars if I could. Extra highly recommended for a great overall experience. You will not be disappointed!
The service was incredible from the beginning. The food was bomb! So good!! Even had mocktails. Our waitress had spot on recommendations and we were celebrated for our 6 year anniversary with a nice little dessert ❤️ 10/10 highly recommend!
Having my birthday lunch here. I felt so special when I was greeted with HBD! The restaurant is elegant. Staff are very nice. The server is knowledgeable, he recommended a very very nice and inexpensive Champaign. All the dishes we had were excellent. The view from the restaurant is very nice. I like everything about this restaurant. Highly recommended.
The banana desert was the best thing we had! Steaks (Australian dry aged and Rib eye dry aged) were perfectly cooked and very good. Appetizers were delicious. Scallop and risotto very good. The wood ear mushroom side was yummy! The puree potatoes were bland and tasteless. We added the roasted garlic from our plates to them to give them flavor. Didn't help. It tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all, with anything. The view wasn't as cool as I expected. Def not like people's pics. Outside was where you got the view. Sommelier Franky was very nice! And knowledgeable.
