My wife and happened to be walking by around dinner time so we stopped in here. We ordered a Mussaman curry with beef and a Singapore noodle with chicken. The Singapore noodle was listed as Southern Thailand style which was interesting to us since we are fans of regular Singapore noodles, so we wanted to try it. It seems like they just used the noodles from a pad Thai for this dish and it was good but I wouldn’t go out of the way to order that again. The Mussaman was really good. A couple things that I noticed about this place was rice doesn’t come with your entree order, that’s a first of any Thai restaurant we have ever been too. It was $3 for a large jasmine rice, not a big deal at all but I still found it strange since most Thai places will bring you a second round of rice for free. I also noticed they didn’t ask what spice level we wanted our food and because of that, we totally forgot to ask for it spicy so both entrees were mildly spicy. These are just a few quirks we noticed about this place but it wouldn’t stop us from dining there again. We will go back and try some other items. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was brought to our table a few minutes after we placed our order.

Visited here on a trip from NYC. I think this was the best Massaman curry I’ve ever had in the US. When you walk in, the setting is very simple. We almost wondered if we were in the right place. Don’t be fooled this place is bomb. We got there at about 7 it was moderately full but by 730 there was a line out the door so locals know what’s up. Portions are very large and easily shareable with a group. There are also plenty of vegan and vegetarian items which makes it easy for our difficult friends lol. I will absolutely come back the next time I am in Chicago.

We were greeted by the owner, Eddie, who immediately let us know that the meat was halal for anyone looking for a delicious Thai option that is halal in the area. He recommended an appetizer of grilled chicken and beef served with peanut sauce and tamarind sauce. We also ordered a whole snapper that was deep fried, shrimp shumai, tom yum soup and pad khee mao. The service was very attentive, we were there early so we beat the dinner rush and had no wait time. Eddie came and checked in on us and we told him everything was delicious—it was! If it’s not on the table and you like spicy food, ask them for the hot sauce.

Loved the food here - its authentic! Went here for lunch, they have ample seating. Service was good, our server was really nice and she took good care of us. The have very good seating arrangements. We got the chicken satay - the sauce is amazing and goes well with the chicken. The Tom kha Kai soup was my favorite - it's a large bowl and we had it between 4 people. The massaman curry and the red curry were really good too. The drunken noodles were okay. The serving size is large and it's a loft of food! Really enjoy the food here!

The manager was very helpful for our request to cook our dishes. If you are from Thailand, they can accommodate you to meet your flavors. Tonight, we are going back to request the northern Thai dishes.

The Pad See Ew is amazing. Highly recommended. The Pad Thai is good, but on the sweet side. The Yellow Curry is also great. Maybe skip the spring rolls.

I know it sound weird to get halal foods in a Thai chain. But they claim it so. Foods are delicious specially the noodles, chowmeins. I love those dumplings and shrimps too. Another thing I wanna mention: I love their unique seating arrangements. It is more like, if you wanna fold your leg, you can. If you wanna spread your leg, you can. So comfortable and spacious. They follow their cultural authenticity in interiors as well. Just one last thing which I do not like: it is normal etiquette that when you pay the service charge to any waiter, it is highly praised to look at that when your customers leave. But they do not follow this stuff. This is quite embarrassing I guess!

Stopped by here on a quick trip to Chicago. Had the fresh spring rolls and spicy chicken with vegetables. Great spice but not over the top.

I was glad to see that they were really busy on a Saturday night. Quite a bit of take out business there too. We really love this place, but this time the food was a little "off". Tom yum soup tasted great,, but was very oily. Pepper beef was almost sweet, and the veggies were overly cooked in my opinion. Pad Thai tasted great, but the presentation was not as remembered and looked like it was taken from a massive batch rather than individually cooked. Will go again, can't vote them off!

Great restaurant for Thai food. 100% Zabiha Halal which is a huge plus for those looking for halal Thai food! The service is best in class and the food is cooked to perfection. 5 stars for the Star of Siam. Check out the photos below!

I ordered delivery from home so that it would arrive when I got to work downtown. The order came right on time, hot, delicious and with napkins, plastic cutlery and extra chili sauce. I could not have been more delighted. Tom Kha w/shrimp soup and Tom Sum salad were prepared perfectly and all the flavors were in balance! I appreciate how the menu gives allergen information. I’m Gluten Free and was able to clearly see which dishes would be safe for me to eat. Thank you, Star of Siam! I will be a repeat customer for sure!

Brought my family here last night. Amazing food. Chicken cashew is AMAZING. Beef noodle soup had great spice and flavor. The hot curry chicken was something new; I wasn’t a fan but they easily replaced it for a cashew chicken entree for me. My wife loved the mango sticky rice dessert. Amazing service. Would gladly return here.
