Really nice ambiance, exquisite Italian food on Taylor, and good deals on the menu all week long. The staff is very kind and we always go there when we want to celebrate something with some good Italian cuisine.
This was my first time at Francesca’s and it was perfect. The service was fast, polite, and professional. We ordered the Cappellacci con Asparagi and the Quattro Formaggi pizza. Both were cooked to perfection.
Wow- I have been to this comfortable neighborhood restaurant in Little Italy at least 10 times. I keep thinking I will eventually get a meal that I absolutely don’t love. No way. Our recent dinner on Sunday was perfect. I had the comforting cream of red pepper soup to begin with followed by the tube pasta with perfectly prepared short rib pasta sauce which was of course amazing. One of our diners had the special, which was gnocchi in basically a pizza crust bowl. What a great idea and as always very flavorful.
They also have a decent beer selection for an Italian restaurant and a very solid selection of wines.
Always my top Italian restaurant pick in Chicago, which has so many good restaurants to choose from!
The Mia Francesca chain is a Chicagoland staple. Traditional Italian cuisine served by a knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. Approachable, delicious cuisine always. The wine list is impeccable. Francesca's on Taylor never disappoints.
Great lunch while visiting a family member at UIC hospital. Just a short walk down Taylor St.
Loved the food and ambience of this place. So glad I visited this restaurant. If you like Italian food, Francescas can’t disappoint you 😊
Thursday night live jazz music and an excellent menu! The desserts are a must here... Make room 😝
The food here is amazing! No wonder it was packed. They also offer valet.
Service was good, not great. Didn’t feel rushed though. Portions are great size for the price
We ordered the gnocchi and I would go back for it tomorrow! The calamari was really good too!
Came here for lunch and it was not busy at all. Service was excellent and the menu was fair. They have a lunch combo that is about $10. Comes with, I believe, a soup and about a half portion entree. I did not order that. I had the linguine. Portion was good, I had to take half of it home because they served bread with olive oil and cheese at the beginning. I would definitely come back again for lunch, try something else.
I love all Francesca’s locations! They have great authentic food and friendly staff with quick service. This location specifically barely ever has a wait, I do believe it is one of the larger ones in the city! They have tasty wine and seasonal options as well! My absolute favorite thing about all Francesca’s restaurants is the rotating menu, and that there is always something different! They of course do a fantastic take on the classics. I always highly recommend whenever people are asking for authentic Italian restaurants.
We had a private event there for 45 upon our daughter's graduation and Francesca's was phenomenal from start to finish. The management was helpful and flexible in planning for our budget. The food was absolutely delicious (chicken, pasta, salad, bruschetta, grilled calamari) and our guests let us know that, especially when considering it was cooked for a group. The staff assigned to us (I wish I could remember their names) were so attentive to us and our group -- something else our guests commented on.
I went here for my department's holiday party. Parking in the area is rough so beware. The police were very active giving out tickets as my co-worker learned the hard way. The staff was very friendly. They kept our glasses filled and our stomachs full. We had this ravioli stuffed with cheese and spinach. I'm not sure if it was in a vodka sauce but it was really good. The chicken with capers and spinach was delicious. The bread was jot and fresh. They also has some good coffee. It has a fruity note to it. The tiramisu was out of this world. It wasn't too sweet or bitter. The cheesecake was nice. There was also a pastry stuffed with ice cream that my co-workers liked. I wish I could have seen the menu to see what else they had. I'm not really big on Italian food but I wouldn't mind coming back here.
Very nice, intimate restaurant. Great private room that we used for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The food was extremely delicious, and the cocktail menu is very unique with plenty of variety for any type of mixed drink to fill your fancy. Wine menu is also extensive and priced fairly.
My favorite place on Taylor. Delicious bread though I always fill up on it before my dinner comes. I have never had a bad meal. Most recently I had the chicken parm which was amazing! It’s nice for lunch or date night, but a little fancy for kids.
My family and I celebrated Easter & my Birthday 4/21/19. Our server Mayra was Fantastic, she was very pleasant and enthusiastic to serve our group, she felt like family. Great food, great experience. I highly recommend the Veal medallions in wine sause. Thank you !!!
If you like Italian then you will love Francesca's. They have been around forever and they have supreme Italian food. I have been there numerous times and have always been pleased. Food is great, wine is awesome and the ambiance is very mellow and perfect for a nice meal. Highly recommend.
My friend and I went during lunch hour. Valet parking. The place was busy but not crowded. Appetizers: calamari and stuffed peppers. The calamari was good. We shared our meals pizza sausage & spinach and a salmon & spinach & tomatoes entree both entrees were great the spinach was plentiful on the pizza; not over cooked. Really fresh salmon so delicious cooked to perfection. Awesome lunch experience.
My wife and I celebrated our 9th anniversary here. The staff was super friendly and the Italian food was wonderful. I had the Tuna and my wife had a scallop and clam bowl. We loved it, the server went out of his way to show us a great time and we thank him for that! Thanks Francesca's & Felipe for the wonderful dinner and anniversary/birthday celebration.
