I enjoyed dinner after visiting Chicago360 at John Hancock Center building.
Luckily "the Chicago Restaurant Week" is was held, I chose the special menu.
Cup of brisket chili with cornbread garnish was very good for warming my body. (outside was very chilly)
2 meat sampler menu was my selected meat (beef brisket and pulled pork) and fried potato. That was very good portion and delicious!
Dessert was banana cream pie, that was sweet, delicious and very good finish of my dinner.
The atmosphere of the restaurant and the room was very clean, stylish.
A waitress was very friendly and kind to me. so I had a very very good dinner time!
We love Southern Cut. We have been 3 times. The food and service are always consistently excellent. Loved the BBQ mac & cheese! The leftover ribs were even better at home two days later!
Great food. They make a watered down old fahioned though (soda water added). I would eat there again but avoid their mixed drinks. Nice outdoor seating with awesome view of the Hancock tower.
This is the best food we have tried in Chicago so far. We found it online and we didn't have high expectations. So it was a great surprise. My husband ran the marathon so it was a great place to come afterwards. We shared a two meat platter with sliced brisket and pulled pork. Both were delicious. The brisket was super soft. We were surprised they had North Carolina vinegar! It's not common to find it.
We also ordered baby back ribs that were tasty and soft. These plates come with coleslaw that was surprisingly delicious. We didn't order an extra side because we were afraid it would be too much food. It was a good decision because we still had space for dessert. We ordered a delicious carrot cake. Some people may think that the slice was too small, but I think it was ok after eating so much meat. In addition to the food, the place is nice and a good option for a date night. We spent around $30 per person but it was worth it. I definitely recommend it.
Chicago wasn't reading a temperature this March morning so at zero degrees I needed to find a place close by. This was about and block and a half from my hotel door so in my mind this was my only option.
I walked in a little late for my normal lunch but around 1:15. I set at the bar and from what I could tell by my view, I was the only customer in the restaurant.
I looked over the menu and ordered a beef brisket chili and a ceasar salad. My chili came out first which was excellent. A small topping off cornbread on top that you could choose to mix in with your bites. Highly recommend.
My salad was just ok. I did like the crunch parmesan on top but the salad lacked any kind of dressing. What was there was very very lite. To lite for my taste buds.
Good food for any time of the day. Profecinal staff on a relax environment. I invite to stop by and try. Brisket is phenomenal. Good wine list and cocktails to please.
Great food. The crab cake was one of the best I've had in Chicago. We sat on the elevation portion of the restaurant, it was very private and quite we loved it!
Staff: 5 stars
Main course: 3 stars
Chicken wings: off the charts!!!
I thought the main course was pretty average, tasty and large portions but not the best in the area. The service was awesome and our waiter was so enjoyable all evening. But the chicken wings - phenom always!!! Smoked and so much flavor I could enjoy them regularly. Highly recommend for your next visit
Had breakfast here by happen chance; it was close by and we didn't have a lot of time to search or wait for a table. It was very slow, but the space was clean and inviting. We had immediate service and a solid breakfast.
Last minute choice to stop for lunch and it was awesome. Service was good and the food was amazing, especially that chocolate peanut butter pie 🥧! Amazing!!
I ordered the Mac Daddy. This sandwich in the picture did not last more than 2 minutes on the plate right after. I miss it already :(. So delicious!
Excellent and fast service. Also, they have pillows for your back in the booths, and that right there is maximum comfort.
Hands down the best barbecue I have ever tasted. The environment was very cute, clean and modern farm house. I ordered the ribs and mac and cheese. I hate coleslaw but their slaw was even delicious. The ribs fell off the bone. They were so moist, tender, smooth and almost creamy. They didn't need barbecue sauce but the mild sauce was perfect. Not too sweet and not too spicy. The mac and cheese was delicious. My husband had the brisket, pulled pork and jalapeno cheddar sausage. They were all also so delicious and tender. My only complaint would be more staffing. We waited for a long time on everything. Our server had excellent customer service but they were a full house at 9 PM on a Sunday and I only seen 3 servers. It's a must try!
I know about good bbq, and this place has it. When you walk in there is a wall full of awards. One of them is from when the chef/owner beat Bobby Flay... at bbq! I asked around and several people at my hotel recommended it as the best bbq in the area (River North/The Loop, Chicago). I tried serval items and everything was great. Pictured is the pit master sandwich: pulled pork, chicken, AND brisket, house made pickles & fried jalapeños, with chips & slaw.
I'm staying two blocks from Southern cut and when I arrived here, I could smell the smoke and knew I had to find out where it was coming from. I had sliced brisket and pulled chicken. Both were done to perfection and the chef even showed me the smoker and gave me some tips that I can use at home. Next time I'm in Chicago I'm definitely coming back.
Went for lunch and it was amazing. Jalapeno cornbread was flavorful without being overly spicy and the pulled pork was phenomenal.
Fried onions... This worth the MEAL... Everything Is well cooked and presented. Quite rooms, great people serve you fast and as real professional. I suggest to test... I'll be back as sono as possible!
Had a great time here! The food & service was fantastic! Thank you Daniel for your great customer service!
