Really tasty food for reasonable price! Everything was pretty much spot on besides the AC being turned up a little too much. Fried pickles, tomatoes & gumbo were all great. I would like to try the dessert next time. Come hungry and bring cash. (ATM available in restaurant)
If you are looking for hearty dishes made with love – this is your spot! Their Po’boys cannot be beat! I really loved their jalapeno cheddar corn muffin, fried green tomatoes and a few others! The staff here is top notch! They are some of the nicest people I have ever met! At the same time – when st
Decent prices, very generous portion sizes. It's a bummer they are cash only but luckily we had enough to not have to not order things. The jalapeno cheddar bangers were great, I really liked the friend pickles too. The vegetarian gumbo was gross (spinach and white rice). We liked the fried chicken
We went there on Tuesday for a late lunch. No wait got right in. It was a cold rainy day so we craved for hot gumbo. It was located on the seventh floor in a business-looking building so we would’ve never expected there is a restaurant in the middle floor. We had to ask around where the restaura
The best Cajun food in Chicago. Super friendly waiters who don't mind sharing their hot sauce recommendations. Must try the fried shrimp, gumbo and the jambalaya. Also, ask for the ghost pepper hot sauce. Edit: it’s cash only, so come prepared. There’s an ATM inside the restaurant too if you need i
I cannot say anything negative about this place. The shrimp and grits were fork licking good, the gumbo was too. They have a variety of hot sauces on each table to choose from. The entrance is a little tricky to find because it's on the 7th floor of a building. I hope you can find it bc the food is
My coworkers headed to Heaven on Seven for lunch and had a GREAT time. The service was friendly, the venue was fun and unique and the food was delightful. While my Louisianan coworker said that nothing can beat his family's cooking, he said this place is one of the closest places in Chicago to authe
Good food and service, nice variety on the menu. Great place for Cajun food. Went at lunch, looks like it can get busy. Food was not overly spicy as some Cajun places will do. Good experience.
Everything we had was really good. The gumbo was by far my favorite, followed by crab cakes and Jambalaya.Food 5, ambience 5, service 4, Cleanliness 5, Price 5.
Our first time to try Cajun food was great. The restaurant has great food, atmosphere and service. We will come again next time visit Chicago.
Very delicious food. Actually, insanely delicious food. Best Cajun food I’ve had in Chicago. Only issue was it took long to get our check, and the restaurant is cash only. There is an atm inside to make up for this however.
Nice ambiance. Gumbo is just fine. Not great. Fried catfish is good. Even the shrimps are good.
Always love coming here. Still the best gumbo I've ever had but it was a LOT of fun to come during their Halfway to Mardi Gras party. Thought the Nashville Hot Chicken could've been spicier but the myriad of other great items and Green River on tap will keep me coming for a long time...
Overall, a great southern-style experience. After I ate both menus (Today's special and the Gumbo), I realized that I should've only eaten the gumbo. "Today's special" was WAY TOO SALTY for me. No wonder the other people were digging in their gumbos...
Fantastic Cajun in Chicago. Cash only. Luckily, there's an ATM inside (with a fee of course). If you can't see the chalkboard with the specials, ask. The paper menus can be incomplete. Literally can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
I have been here three times. Fantastic place. very energetic staff and friendly. Loved my well seasoned food and my friends also enjoyed their meal.
Oh my God! This place has just become my favorite place to eat it all of Chicago! Food was amazing, the staff was the nicest I have ever seen, and the prices were pretty fair and normal. The food was the highlight by far, inside it was beautiful! Will be going back many times because there is so muc
This was a unique find in the heart of Chicago! The food was excellent, as was the service. Being from down South, the food and atmosphere were excellent reminders of where it stems from. Just FYI, cash only and it's on the 7th floor of the Garland building.
