In town for the Lions game at Soldier field and we had some time to kill before our hotel room was ready, and thought…… margaritas? The answering was an overwhelming YES!!!!! So we made our way by foot & pulled up to a table & were greeted immediately. Service. I’m not sure what defines good service for you, for me it’s when I feel like I’m at the servers house and they are being a great host. Once I have drinks in front of me, and I can forget I’m at a restaurant as a patron not an employee, is when I enjoy myself the most. This restaurant had great food, service & vibe. Margaritas were strong, fool had soul & this lunch was a moment our family will remember for decades. Thanks for your hospitality & keep up the good work.

I’ve come to La Cantina Grill a few times, and usually, the food is spot on. This last time I went, the food just didn’t hit the same, but it was still good. We got mini chimichangas, regular chimichanga, mole veggie enchiladas, and veggie fajitas, and all of them were good. I also got the stuffed quesadillas, but they messed up our order twice, which was frustrating. The staff was super apologetic about it and fixed it, but it just took so long for them to get it right. The restaurant is pretty small and gets very loud during prime lunch and dinner times - I’d recommend making a reservation! I’ll be back since the food is excellent, but not during prime time!

Very pretty mid sized restaurant with great staff and fantastic food! The best part is the abundance of vegan and veterinarian options! Great margaritas. All around a fantastic experience. We will definitely be back

Great service and vibes with affordable prices. The Michelada was full of flavor and huge for $12. The tacos meal for $14 with 3 tacos, rice and beans.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! Spent a week in Chicago and this was BY FAR the best food we had. Service was great and friendly while the atmosphere was authentic. Great whole in the wall!

Wonderful atmosphere and staff was very greeting along with super friendly and helpful when deciding what to order. The chips and salsa were delicious. Wife ordered the chicken tinga tacos and I ordered the Al Pastor tacos recommended by the staff. They were superb and very happy I did! We both washed it down with a total of 4 large margaritas made with Don Julio that tasted wonderful. If ever back in Chicago will definitely revisit. Obviously with the alcohol and meal pushing well into a $100+ for two.

Do. Not. Skip. This was the best food we had in our 5 days in Chicago. Dinner under $20, exceptionally accommodating of dietary restrictions. Presentation was jaw dropping, atmosphere was relaxed.

Came here for my birthday lunch with my mom and I loved my time here! This seems like a very lowkey Mexican spot and I love that! I will be back as the food was well seasoned (you don’t even need a salsa!) The drinks were well made as well!

Incredible chips and salsa. Service is exceptionally fast. In fact, the fastest I have ever had in any restaurant. Extensive Vegan and vegetarian menu. Good margaritas. Sadly no beer on draft. Very good flan. In fact one of the best places to eat near McCormick convention center.

A great experience for a neighborhood restaurant. It's one of the few places that give great portions for the price. I had a great lunch with a friend we enjoyed the ceviche, she had the steak and shrimp fajitas and I had the chicken taquitos. It came quick and had a great flavor, my only compliant is that the spiciest salsa they had was pretty muted (wish it was hotter) but that's just imo 😅. If you're in the area definitely check them out. Oh and before I forget get the sangria, they are definitely not shy with the drinks.

First time going and I loved it! Food was so authentic and flavorful and staff was quick. We ordered chimichanga and enchiladas and tamales and margaritas. The music was good and the plates were plenty full! It was a little tight because it's not a big place, but the food is very satisfying, so once I was eating that did not bother me. The pico was Really Good!!! Prices were decent! I would definitely recommend it to others!

I loved this Mexican restaurant. I passed many times from there but on friend’s recommendation tried it and totally loved it. I would suggest it to anyone who is in Chicago to give it a try. Oh their chips and salsa are amazing too! Loved it!

La cantina was a great experience. I sat at the bar and Diego J was my bartender/waiter he provided excellent service! I ordered a chimichanga and it was phenomenal, the chips and salsa were great too. I also had a grapefruit margarita which was amazing! The bar/restaurant was a touch crowded at times so I docked 1 star for atmosphere.

South Loop surprised me. This place gives value to your buck. The food is good and they give you plenty of it. I couldn't eat everything and made 2 or 3 more small meals out of what I had boxed up. The drinks was good. This is a busy place but the staff work hard to make it look easy. Impressed. Paid street parking was easy.

We entered the restaurant at 7:35P and were seated immediately. It was pretty crowded in there but plenty of room to move about to our table. The atmosphere was a mixture of sports bar and restaurant with music playing and plenty of games on the big screens. You could still hold a conversation with your party. Our server was incredibly accommodating and made very helpful recommendations regarding appetizers and drinks. The frozen mango margarita was delicious! It was made to order - not from a margarita machine. We skipped appetizers and got right to the main event - dinner! We ordered a steak chimichanga and a beef chimichanga. Both came with chihuahua sauce, rice, beans, sour cream, and guacamole. The food came out quick, piping hot and did not disappoint. The presentation, flavor, and freshness exceeded our expectations. There was so much food neither of us were able to finish our plates so we boxed it up to go. Lunch (or a midnight snack :) will be delicious! This restaurant is highly recommended for good food and good vibes.
