Reviews Lockwood Restaurant

I don’t often review restaurants and I’ve never raved about a salad online. Nor is salad the first dish that comes to mind when you think of Chicago cuisine. But, my friends, the Watermelon Heirloom Tomato Salad here is heaven. Sweet Watermelon, peppery Arugula, smooth heirloom tomato, firm, high quality feta, and a tart vinaigrette. It’s just splendid. I completely cleaned my plate. The rolls are also very good. I appreciate the variety of flavors and styles offered. For those who drink adult beverages, the Old Fashioned was also delectable. The service was capable and the atmosphere at the Palmer House was vibrant. Whether you’re visiting from across the world or just stopping in after work, I recommend Lockwood and their lovely salad.

This place is amazing! The food, the ambiance, the service. It's a great place to relax. Have a great meal. Chill with a drink in a beautiful lobby. Our server was Christian, and he was absolutely on top of everything and was excellent.

The atmosphere dazzles! As a teenager, this hotel lobby was one of the places I loved to bring my friends. We’d walk through and admire the beautiful old hotel lobby. Now I can come here to have drinks and sit and truly soak in the atmosphere! For the price of the drinks, I’d say the service is lacking… but it’s possible they are understaffed. I’ve been here a couple times for drinks and seem to always arrive after the kitchen closes!

Everything we had ww perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Glad you decided to stop here for breakfast vs. Adding time to our morning walking to the next place. The bacon was my favorite and the fresh fruit was delicious.

Stayed at the Palmer and had dinner here, I was exhausted and starving but the Lookwood restaurant was the perfect option. Ambience was soothing and luxurious, food was absolutely delicious. I had the green salad with grilled salmon and it was just perfect!

Ok guys this is pretty good we had desert at this resturant. Food is great and obviously the atmosphere is good becsuse the hotel is kinda expensive and stuff but Everything was good except the service they kinda don’t come around you have to get everything. Also when we asked for silverware they gave us plastic silverware and it didn’t work (we had to go get it too) so we asked for actual silverware and we had to go get it but hey at least it was silverware. Overall very good food and atmosphere but poor service. Oh yeah also they have phone outlets so that’s pretty cool

Very nice place. Food was fabulous. Good and friendly service. Only downside is the limited menu. Suggest checking before you come to make sure you can find something you want to eat. Very lovely

We had breakfast after a stay at the hotel. The food was excellent. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The bacon was crispy and had great flavor. The toast was also really good. Butter and jam was available for the toast. The orange juice seemed to be freshly squeezed. It also came with fresh fruit. The interior was a contemporary look, it would have been nice if the amazing area just outside the restaurant would have carried over. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The price for the amount of food was a decent value. Bicycling: Downtown Chicago has a nice set of bike lanes. I'm not sure I would be comfortable parking the bike outside. I didn't ask if there was an interior area to lock the bike. There's no outside eating area as the restaurant is located inside the hotel.

As a lover of breakfast! I don't rate this 5 Stars lightly. The AVOCADO BISCUITS AND EGGS were delicious, coffee as good as New Orleans. The fresh pastry was fresh and delicious, I'm told they bake it themselves. Service was great. The Palmer Hotel is beautiful. It's a one of a kind faberge egg of a lobby. Breakfast is the best way to start your day.

We went out to Lockwood for dinner with our toddler and had a great experience. The staff, including the manager, were wonderful; very accommodating, attentive, and made us feel relaxed (it is not always easy with a toddler) and welcome. The food was great.

Decent food and a nice ambience. The menu is not super wide ranging, but pescatarians have 2 good entree options: grilled salmon and lobster roll. Price is fair at approx. 30 dollars for the entrees. The restaurant is upstairs in the hotel right by a quite busy lobby - good option if you are staying nearby and need a place for a quick no-nonsense business or private dinner.
