I recently enjoyed an exquisite dinner at McCormick & Schmick's in Chicago, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The star of the evening was the "Sugar and Spice Salmon" – a special that exceeded all expectations. The delicate balance of sweetness and spiciness elevated the salmon to a whole new level of culinary delight.
Accompanying the salmon were perfectly cooked asparagus and Brussels sprouts. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, and the freshness of the ingredients was truly noteworthy.

I must also commend our server, whose name unfortunately escapes me. Her service was nothing short of amazing – attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. She truly added a personal touch to our dining experience, making the evening even more enjoyable.
We had an exceptional dining experience at this restaurant. The "Sugar & Spice Cedar Roasted Salmon" was a culinary delight, showcasing superbly prepared fish that exceeded my expectations. The ambiance created a perfect setting for a memorable evening, complemented by impeccable service. While the "Grilled Asparagus" and "Blistered Brussels Sprouts" on the side were satisfactory, the star of the show was undoubtedly the exquisite salmon. A must-try for anyone seeking a delightful combination of flavor, atmosphere, and attentive service in Chicago.
An amazing lunch at McCormick and Schmick's. We were traveling and wanted a good steak and salad. Attempted to find a local Chicago based spot, but ended up at this PNW based delight, right as they opened. I love them at home in Seattle and now in Chicago. The staff were friendly and helpful. My steak was perfect. My friend's salmon was cooked exactly right. I absolutely loved our lunch and would recommend it anytime.
Great, great 30th anniversary dinner for my wife and I. We found the experience from service to our meals to be extraordinary.
For starters we had the Shrimp Kisses and the Walnut Mixed Greens -
My wife had West Australian Lobster with Asparagus and roasted potatoes. Paired with Sonoma Cutrer Russian River Ranched 2021 Chardonnay!
I had the Chilean Sea Bass with Broccoli and Mashed Potatoes! Paired with Estancia Pinot Grigio 2021.
Our server was Aby, her service was top of the line and made the experience extra special for my wife and I. I highly recommend for special occasions and some of the best food in Chicago.

I went there for a marathon celebration, the staff was awesome, our server Brandon was great and the food was amazing. I would definitely revisit them
If it’s lunch, happy hour (I LOVE happy hour), or dinner you’re guaranteed great service, intimate atmosphere and dynamic food and drinks! I don’t eat many sweets so that’s why they’re not selected.
The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable and our server was very attentive. Plus, you get a great view. What more can you ask?! Definitely recommend it.
Special thanks and appreciation go out to Miza, manager and her team. I made a reservation for 20 guests during a very busy weekend and the server assigned to our group was so friendly, efficient and a pleasure to work with. Every order was spot on, prompt and provided with a smile. We look forward to coming each year and will definitely be back. Keep up the great work! Thank You.
My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday. I loved it. All the wait staff who passed by would wish me happy birthday which was lovely. The food was great. Had calamari and crab tower for starters which was delicious. Entrees was scallops and my boyfriend had mash with lobster and Parmesan fish great food. The lobster mash was so good we ordered it again. Lovely ambience was a Monday so no crowds and great intimate setting. They even brought over a free dessert for my birthday which was a great gesture. Lovely time had would come again.
Food was great !! Scallops were spot on . Server was great, very patience my fiance couldn’t decide what she wanted. He was such a big help !! Drinks were also amazing !!
We had a wonderful experience on Thanksgiving Day. Very thankful they were open! Ernest was our server and he took great care of us including the need for gluten free options. The manager, host and crew were all very friendly and welcoming. Thank you all!
Very nice place, but the service was quite slow, we finally received our drinks as we had nearly finished our meal!
Anyhow, very tasty seafood dishes. My wife had the tuna and I had the stuffed salmon, both very nicely cooked and very tasty. The dessert was also good, the upside down walnut and apple pie with cinnamon ice cream.
Prices not too bad for the area.
However, we liked it so recommended!
I hadn’t been to this location in some years. The waiter was courtesy and had decent recommendations. Actually, the pictures are his favorite two entrees on the menu. We started with Oysters Rockefeller, which we great! I forgot to take pictures before we ate them. So shells down are what you see. The Prosecco Sangria was tasty. My friend had the Salmon fish with crab. She cleaned her plate! Lol! I had the mixed grill, which includes a crab cake, salmon & crab stuffed shrimp (3). I had a doggy bag, but the food was tasty. For dessert, my friend has the Fruit in a chocolate bag. Very cute and very good. I ended with the Spiked Mocha! Yep, yummy! No complaints, except there’s no real parking around the restaurant, only very competitive street/metered parking. For those traveling public transit. The green & blue line stops are a block away on Lake St. All in all, it was a good experience!
I went for my birthday! They even had a birthday message on the table. Customer services was great from host to waiter & food was good. Only minor issue is I paid extra to add the shrimp like scampi to my meal & I only got 3 shrimp which was a little disappointing.
The food was very delicious and the service was great. Wonderful location as you’re able to see a lot of the beautiful Chicago architecture along the Chicago river. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the decor seems very old and outdated. Other than that, I enjoyed myself.

Mamma Mia! What a spectacular experience, Prestigious decor’ and world class Seafood to the jaw dropping deserts plus delightful wait staff, my wife and I were satisfied by all of it🙏😊
