Chiu Quon Bakery - Chicago - Photo album

I love coming to this bakery. One of my favorite spots for a quick breakfast. Cash only. The service is always fast and efficient. I will say everything in the bakery looks delicious, but looks can be deceiving. Some of the items are not for my American taste buds (I.E. Chinese sausage), but what I
Red bean and taro buns — egg tart was simply delicious. The buns are perfect and priced well, and they have so many options. I often get the egg sausage veggie bun to keep frozen in my fridge, and they make for a great meal anytime to just steam easily. The red bean buns were so delicious, and the t
If you have tried original Japanese bakery this place will disappoint you. If not, you'll probably find it delicious. The cheesecake is good but not as fluffly as the original one, the swiss cake is good but nothing from another world. Nevertheless, don't let my opinion discourage you from trying so
Deep dish pizza is one of Chicago's claim to foodie fame. But the city should also be known for its traditional baked savory and sweet chinese pastries. Chiu Quon 's bakers have maintained the traditional way of preparing sweet and savory delights in pillowy buns or delicately flaky bites. Its char
Let’s get it out of the way. This place only takes cash. Get over it. The buns here are so fresh, perfectly proofed and baked. The bbq pork buns had a good amount of filling with the perfect amount of sweetness. The coconut cream bun was heavenly. The cream was so light and not too sweet. Just divi
Very very good baked goods. The staff are really nice and the store is very nice as well. Only downside is cash only but that's not the biggest deal. The red bean mochi is to die for I would highly recommend. Sometimes I take a trip to China Town just for this bakery. Very good stuff I would highly
No cash? What’re y’all up to behind the scenes. Lol! Nah the bakery items were delicious. But cash only. There’s an ATM I. The store but yknow? 2023 who has cash?
I love this place. Lots of great options and they taste good. I love the lotus and red bean baby mooncakes and the bbq pork buns. They only take cash but they have an ATM inside.
We love love love the pork buns and portuguese egg tarts here!!! Both are frequently sold out when we visit, they’re so popular! This place is one of the oldest bakeries in Chinatown and has a rich history. It’s extremely well known to the Chicago community. If you haven’t gone before, go check it o
Aug 2023 Update on items we tried, see pics Honeydew cake roll - had to try this, as you normally don't find this flavor at the bakeries (eg. Original yellow cake, mocha, coffee, or pandan). Honestly, the cake roll itself is very good, moist, not too sweet, with just a thin line of cream running thr
Great options of asian pastry, bread, desserts, and drinks! It is as authentic as it gets. With some unbeatable price but the only thing is MAKE SURE YOU BRING CASH! It looks like a family run store and I love seeing it. Everything tastes amazing, fresh, and delicious.
Wow! Their selection is incredible and the pricing is unbeatable. Even if you don’t know what something is, get it. You won’t regret it. Everything is phenomenal. I even recommend the hot dog rolls. Soft and to die for. Best hot dog I’ve ever had in my life. Never would have thought!
Plentiful and delicious Hong Kong style pastries of many types. My favorite includes the world famous egg tart, coconut turnover, custard bun, and the one that the store was most confident at: BBQ Pork Bun. Many of the pastries here were scrumptious and flavorful, especially the egg tart and the bun
Great little bakery in Chinatown. Tons of options to pick from here. The pastries are fresh. Many to-go items available, as well. As other people have said, this place is cash only but they do have an ATM inside. Good service.
Bakery here was alright. The coconut bun had no filling inside so it was kind of bland and the taro filling in the taro bread was a bit dry. I would recommend the tarts as they do look good.
Great place to get some Asian bread and pastry. We mostly come here to buy their BBQ pork buns, and their sweet breads, such as the custard filled or coconut filled breads with sugar crusts on top (which they call Pineapple crust) Their sausage bun and Egg tarts are pretty good too. All great deal
Really yummy baked goods. Of course there was a long line inside, but the staff managed to keep it moving and to stay friendly. I would recommend coming earlier in the day before everything is sold out.
