This is the perfect brunch spot for a gathering of friends- the menu is shareable friendly - like a brunch tapas.. The coconut pancakes are a must, the eggplant Benedict and salmon Benedict made me sing out loud!- Their Mimosa was definitely different but totally amazing. Thanks to the staff for all of their recommendations- I’ll be back...
I love this place, great food, excellent service, a interesting menu, a fabulous mixologist. The inside is a little loud for us older folks but worth it. In season if noise bothers you go for the patio.
Loved everything about this place!!! The food was deliciously flavorful, the bartender was friendly and made superb cocktails, the owner was welcoming and down-to-earth, the atmosphere was stylishly fun, and we were joined by the best unexpected company! ;)
Been here a few times and have had quite a few things on the menu. The ambience is cozy and the serving staff delivers in a timely and friendly manner. Go for brunch and stay til dinner and the menu will satisfy at any time of the day. Cocktails are a necessity here and I'd reccomend on ordering many dishes and splitting them.
Also theres a guy on staff named Nate who just has a big ol smile that blesses the entire place. 10/10 wish I knew his dentist
Another food gem in Chicago. Mott St rocks!! A new Asian fusion place in Wicker Park. The service is great and very attentive to one's dietary needs. The Pork Jowl is delicious and the Ricotta doughnuts are a must try for dessert.
Great location for a date night or special occasion. Not cheap but you feel like you are getting your moneys worth. The burger lives up to the hype, unique savory flavors that don’t make you feel bloated.
Very nice atmosphere and service, we let them know we were celebrating a special occasion and they comped our dessert.
The salad was a bit too fishy for our liking, burger was fire and the dessert (hummingbird donuts) also was unique and delicious.
Came here for a friend's birthday and had a great time. I got to try a bunch of different dishes and they were all phenomenal. We tried the brussels sprouts, Oyster mushrooms, imperial rolls, garlic fried rice, everything wings, fire chicken, steak kalbi, and whole fish. I think the standouts were the mushrooms and the wings. The cocktails were also unique and creative. There is a bunch of outdoor seating, and it's very open and spacious.
Highly recommend this place.
A restaurant that offers brunch on Sundays. The menu is tempting, the dishes are varied and they all seem to be delicious. And it was no different, we all liked the dishes we ordered. Better to arrive early, as demand is high.
Mott St. serves up delicious, inventive Asian American fusion fare ~supremely~ well. I went for dinner with a reservation and it was pretty crowded inside. The ambience is casual and lively, and the service was reasonably quick and friendly. My partner and I got the following dishes (**= especially recommend):
- Oyster Mushrooms**: Ooooh this was so so good! It’s a small dish, but the flavors were so rich, buttery, and powerful, that just this small portion was completely satiating. The mushrooms are soft with the perfect amount of char and crispiness and they just melt in your mouth.
- Mott Burger w/ Egg**: I get why people consistently rank this burger among the best in Chicago. Yes, $20 for a burger is ultimately a lot, but I do think it’s worth it. The bun is soft and pillowy, and the meat is incredibly juicy and well cheesed. The amount of meat and cheese is generous and you can really feel it melt in your mouth. The egg is +$2 but I highly recommend it as it adds a wonderfully rich, decadent layer to it. The sweet potato pieces on top offer a unique taste and crunch.
- Wood-Smoked Gailan**: Another one of my favorites— the flavor is very smokey and charred, and the stems were cooked to the perfect level of tenderness.
- Everything Wings: These wings were tender, juicy, crispy, and flavorfully marinated. The tzatziki pairing added a nice, tangy flair.
- Crispy Chili Cauliflower: These were pretty good, but not my favorite; the flavors were a little basic and I’d prefer it cooked traditional Szechuan style.
- Brownie with Miso Caramel: This was pretty standard and good, though nothing mind-blowing. It comes with two small brownie rectangles with blackberries. I liked the lightly whipped matcha sauce at the bottom and the brownies had a good texture.
Overall a fantastic dining experience with a diverse range of creative Asian fusion foods on the menu. I’d love to come back in the future with a larger group so that we can try more dishes!

Mott St. Is a casual fusion restaurant, the seating is very close together so it can be loud and you do have to shuffle between other tables to get to the bench on the tables.
Service was a little slow sometimes but friendly and informed. We opted for a beer and the Mango Stasi cocktail, the drink was delicious and refreshing, with good spice flavor.
To order it was recommended to get 4 total items for 2 people, 2 smaller, 2 larger. We got the Brussel Sprouts, garlic fried rice, stuffed cabbage and char siu pork belly. For us the real show stopped was actually the Brussels, charred nicely with a miso glaze these really delivered.
If you are here for the burger - know that table service for the burger ends at 7pm, but it continues to be served at the bar.
Been here many times and both the team and the food are consistently great. Stopped in recently to have the burger which is notorious as one of the best in the city. The hoisin aioli and miso butter onions give it a lot of flavor that sets it apart from other burgers. Despite being a half pounder you won't have any issues putting it away quickly.
The miso butter oyster mushrooms, king crab rice, and stuffed cabbage are all highlights from the rest of the menu. I doubt there's much else you could go wrong with ordering. The menu is very gluten free friendly and a lot of their items can be made dairy free upon request.
Any time I find myself in the area I stop by, the bar and patio is first come first serve and if you want to eat inside during the summer you'll need to make a reservation. Went here for their NYE tasting menu as well which was an unforgettable experience. Check it out!
Best burger ever? Definitely the best I have had this year and definitely in contention for the best burger ever. Also the wangs are bonkers but y’all need to do 4 instead of three to make sharing easier cuz I almost got into a fist fight over the last one with my boy. Also that miso butter on the brownie had me eyerollin.
Everything was delicious! Only complaint I could have is about the bread not being served with the oyster mushrooms anymore! That delicious butter sauce just goes to waste and there's no bread at the table to lap it up either. It's so good, but it needs the bread! It is also worth noting that the outside patio during the summer is dog friendly!
Bottom line: It's the kind of place that makes you want to go back and try everything else on the menu, and I'm very excited to do just that.
Innovative, vibrant, and delicious take on Asian fusion. So many different flavors and textures to try, so go with people who like to share! Well made drinks to pair along with a lively dinner atmosphere. Great neighborhood restaurant.
A few notable dishes:
Oyster mushrooms with miso butter
Crispy cauliflower
King Crab rice
Loved the burger - it was so savory and a different flavor profile than typical burgers given the hoisin and sweet potato. The other dishes were nothing to write home about in my opinion. Gets a little dark at night. Service is good.
Wow. What an incredible meal. The food here is stellar. My only regret is that I’m not a vegetarian. However the fish and fire chicken were amazing. The cocktails were good. Definitely coming here again. Next time I’ll be smarter and book ahead to get an outside seat.
Pros: phenomenal flavors, good variety, great ambiance, food is solid. This is a staple in this neighborhood
Cons: tables can be a bit close together, given it is tapas style may be hard to figure out the correct quantity to order - had significant leftovers after they recommended we get 2-3 dishes each, and got 4 dishes. I don’t think they intentionally upsell but prob good to keep in mind your personal preference
Fun space and great food! The burger is the best burger I have ever had. We went during happy hour and got the burger/drink combo which is a pretty decent deal!
Prior to 2022, I was not providing any feedback on any restaurants I visited via social media platforms. So over the next few months, I will revisit some of my favorites I still think of and pine for; so I can provide some constructive observations. I will limit it to places I have visited within about a decade prior, and starting with The Mott Street cheeseburger.
REVISIT Tour
This self-described Asian inspired eatery, as I recall, had a fantastic burger. And upon trying it again since my first visit in 2014 (shortly after having tried Au Cheval in that same year), I now know why I still remember this meal. The meat is perfectly cooked and juicy, fatty and salty. The hoisin aioli adds a nice sweetness offset by the pickled jalapeño heat (surprising where you finally bite one). With egg topping, there was an added creaminess to the overall flavors. This is still one of the best burgers in all of Chicago!!
Came for the burger and it definitely lived up to the hype. The pork belly was also melt-in-your-mouth good! Definitely on the pricier side for some of the dishes.
So fun! We got the Chef's Menu, and everything was so tasty! The mushrooms 🤩🤩🤩 Christina was fun and engaging and answered all our questions with a smile. She even remembered my brother and his wife from their previous visit.
Get a cocktail and get all some great food!!!!!!
Great fusion food, their burger and pork belly are the best. Staff is very nice and knowledgeable. Will be back to check their other dishes.
Got a chance to check this spot out. Decent set-up I do like the patio sitting but the inside can get kinda tight. I posted up at the bar and order my old-fashioned. Again decent bro, did put a kick in the second one I got. I went with Everything Wings 3piece and they were cool. I there was a little too sweet for my liking but still a decent wings 7.2. What I came for was the Mott Burger. It's a double cheeseburger with shoestrings, grilled onions, aioli sauce, and jalapeño. This wasn't a bad burger...minus it was a bit on the sweeter side. 8.4. It's on the top 10 list for me top burgers but not I'm my top 3. Overall, if you looking for a burger can't go wrong here....wings it a nah....spot 8.1.
