Hidden gem! Amazing food and the service was on point! Huge portions for a great price!
Everything.....Excellent!! Food, atmosphere, server Nothing but the best!!
Excellent food, comfortable environment, well trained staff. We have never had a bad experience at Bella Notte.
Omg, this restaurant never disappoints me!! Ordered delivery tonight and even their packaging is insanely perfect. Best Tortiglioni Carbonara in the city!!!
One of the best fine dining Italian Restaurants in Chicago. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Congratulations to Belle Notte on their first 22 years business.
Thank you Bella Notte for a delicious birthday dinner. The service was amazing, as was the food and wine! We will definitely be back!
Hands down some of the best food I've ever had. What they do there is truly an art.
fantastic! you have to try their lemon chicken! it is amazing
Daughter lives in the neighborhood and we checked it out on our last visit. LOVED the food...great service...atmosphere.... coming up for another visit.....see you soon
The decor is nice and has low lighting for a relaxed scene. The staff was extremely nice and made sure we were always taken care of. The food was really good. I ordered basic spaghetti in meat sauce in the full size. The full size is meant for about 2-3 people. I had tons of leftovers. I also tried the carrot cake and it was really good! The frosting tasted like Cinnabon frosting. I would definitely come back here!
Came here late, just an hour before closing, but had a great experience. Being a Sunday night, staff was extremely light, but so good overall. Prompt service, phenomenal food with large portions, and good ambiance.
I don’t do a lot of reviews but this is such an outstanding place I’ll gladly share. On the Sunday after SAIC graduation we came in with our 6. Loved the front windows being opened, loved never having to ask for refills, now double the love for the food. The sausage and peppers , octopus and fettuccine Alfredo are just a few of the standouts . Portions are incredible, all fresh and homemade. Any Chicago visit will now include a trip to Bella Notte.
We didn't make any reservations but we stopped by since we've been here before. The place has plenty of paintings from Italy and reminded me of the last trip I made there. The man at the entrance walked us over to our table and our server came right away to give us the specials of the day. We got some drinks and they were great, not too much or too little alcohol. And as for the food, it was good and plenty for more than one person per plate. Later on when it started to get dark outside, the candles on the rabble were lit. Our server was bilingual since he spoke English and Spanish. The place can host small to large groups, I saw a table being set up for a party of 13. Try the drinks and share the plates. The host did not have a face covering this Saturday when I picked up my food, so I'll just keep ordering for pickup.
Love this place! The brothers that run it have really made the restaurant a well-oiled machine, and the food hasn’t changed one bit! Top notch!
** RECOMMEND: Baked Cavatelli is my favorite dish. I’ve been ordering it for over 10+ years.
Delicious. Efficient. Ummm... DELICIOUS. And the host was hilarious. The server was quick.
Walk in (no reservations) and we still had the best table in the house, front window. Large portions... just as good the next day. My new Italian go-to. Thank you!!!
As a local small business owner, and a patron of Bella Notte for 15 years I had an experience that I felt needed a review to commend a family owned business. Decided to host my office holiday lunch there and due to some miscommunication with the reservation when we showed up we realized they were not open for dine in lunch (carry out only). The owner/manager went above and beyond. Rather than turning us away he warmly seated us and provided AMAZING service. The grilled octopus appetizer and calamari were amazing as always, and the pastas are top notch. It is so very hard to run and staff a business in the post Covid world, I would like to commend Bella Notte for constantly turning out great food and providing great service. Will definitely be back again and again. It is up to Chicagoans to support establishments like this that take pride in their food and service. Thanks Bella Notte!!!
Amazing service and big portions! Calamari and veal were definitely worth getting! I would come back here many more times. The prices were affordable too.
Great neighborhood joint. Pastas, sauces, salads, breads... all delicious. Service was off and prosecco flat, but food made up for it.
Really fantastic food. Best calamari I've had in a long time. Pasta was super fresh and just melted in your mouth. I had ravioli, sausage and peppers... All great. Everyone just raved about their food. If you have not been..... Put it on your list
I think this is one of the best red sauce restaurants in the city. Always good
and totally reasonable.
Wonderful food! I had the brushetta and chicken marsala. Great service as well!
From the bread, baked clams, meatballls, 2 types of pasta and 2 veal dishes, the food was incredible. This is probably the best Italian restaurant we have been to in decades. Everything is so fresh. The portions are huge. We never made so many "yummy" sounds while eating. The service was amazing! The tira misu was outstanding. Our doggie bag smelled like heaven all the way home. Can't wait to go back.
My overall grade for Bella Notte is: A-/B+
For the most part, this is a great place to seek out great Italian food whether you're coming from the suburbs or the loop area. We had tickets to a show at the United Center, but it was on Sunday and the show ended at 7:30 PM, which put us in the position of finding a place that was open on Sunday night and would seat 6 people at 8:00 PM. Bella Notte was the place.
The minute you walk in, you get a great Italian, local, friendly place. The bar is huge and the bartender is very friendly. Our table was not quite ready, so we ordered drinks.
Before our drinks all came out - our table was ready.
For appetizers, we ordered fried calamari and an order of sausage and peppers. The calamari was perfectly done and maybe could have used a bit more salt. The sausage and peppers were great and plenty for all to share.
Then we ordered main courses and soups and salads. Let me get to the good stuff first. The soups and salads were good according to those that ordered them. The mains is where this restaurant shines very brightly.
The pasta is spot on and a few of us ordered veal dishes. I ordered veal picante. The mains were all delicious and everyone loved them. The portion size - wow!! Really, really big. Perhaps the server could've warned us that one main dish was plenty to share between at least 2 people, maybe 3.
No harm, no foul, since of course we took the leftovers home and I had a great pasta with a little veal the next day and it was still delicious.
The improvement point is really this: The pace and timing of the dishes coming out was really flawed. One salad came out 30 minutes before the main course which the person expected to eat with her main course. The soups came out at a different time. And then, really, the most painful part of the dinner was the wait for the main courses.
We were surely the last seating of the night for this restaurant and it seemed like everyone else in the place had already been served their main courses. So we really couldn't figure out why our dishes took so long to server. And we had to try extra hard to get a hold of our server to ask for a status on the food.
That said, once the food did come out - it was all very good.
It was the second time I've been to Bella Notte, and I don't remember having the same "timing" issue the first time I was there. Just this time. So, hopefully, it's the last time. But we will be back for more great Italian food - especially when going to the United Center for an event.
Best Seafood plate I had in Chicago
Food and drinks are excellent as is price point but it is very gloomy and would be helped by candles on each table. Also no "real" menus which I loathe, hate reading off my phone.
