Absolutely delicious food. We were visiting the Monastary next door, St. Thomas The Apostle, and during our stay, our Priest took us to this restaurant. We live in Pittsburgh and our kids keep begging us to return. Delicious food. Wonderfully friendly staff. Highly recommend.

I visited here from NC while I waited to see a show at U Chicago. I am so glad that the theatre personnel recommended The Nile. Excellent food Loved the falafel and grape leaves Salad was really fresh with a light tasty dressing The lamb was very tender The server even let me sample the dessert before making a choice! I will make a point to return here whenever I return to Chicago

Last night I tried a different dish this time at this Middle Eastern Mediterranean restaurant. I enjoyed the Baked Spinach Pie and the Shish Kabob Lamb.

I had a dinner party for 10 people and ordered a variety of dishes. Order was delivered as requested, on time with everything marked……and food was absolutely DELICIOUS. I have been a fan of this restaurant for years, but this gave me the opportunity to try some dishes I had not in the past. Lamb chops, Shawarma, salmon, appetizers all perfect. The Jerusalem salad simply could not have been better and is now one my favorites! THANKS!!!!

The food is really good at this long-time restaurant staple. The reason I give only 4 stars is the service - no tableside banter or personal touch. Just throwing plates and drill Sargent mannerisms. Aside from that, it was a great date location with my boo.

Amazing food. Good service. Not crowded. Found street parking about half a block away. It's very good and authentic. We had shawarma and kabobs with an appetizer.

Dining at The Nile of Hyde Park was a pleasant experience. The service was great. The atmosphere was spacious yet quaint. The authentic middle eastern food was scrumptous! I enjoyed the Jerusalem Salad and the combination platter of Shish Kabob Beef & Shish Tabuk (marinated chicken) served with sauteed vegetables and Middle Eastern potatoes. I would certainly dine here again.

I got two sandwiches: shish kebab and kifta kebab as takeout order. The wait only took 10 minutes and the food came out smelling amazing. I love that it’s filling and delicious. Personally i prefer the kifta kebab. Its perfect for quick meal near campus and reasonably price for hyde park. The sandwich comes with inhouse chips but it would be great if i can sub it for a drink, which might be a better pairing. Would definitively come back and try more items!

I really enjoy my meals at the Nile. I got the same thing as last time (the #14) and everything is good. The meats are tender and the rice is fluffy. They give you large portions also, so there's always some to take home. Our server was very kind.

Great Mediterranean cuisine. I recommend the chicken shwarma, hummus (the best I've had), red lentil soup, Jerusalem salad. Vegetables and rice. I haven't had a bad dish here. Our server was one of the best.

We walked in for a table for 7 on a summer Friday night around 8pm. The restaurant was not too busy. The falafel was the best, really tasty, hot and soft inside and not overly crunchy or fried on the outside. The pita bread was yummy. I liked how the vegetarian maklouba was lightly seasoned. These days eating out usually end up eating too salty or greasy but not with the maklouba here.

The Nile of Hyde Park is Mediterranean as fresh as can be outside the Middle East. The space feels like a local tavern without all the barstools. Inviting, open area, snag a seat near the front windows for best atmosphere. Service is quick, but not rushed. Menu is quite diverse with Shawarma, Wraps and a wide range of Appetizers like Grape leaves, Hummus, Tsatziki, cheese and olives... I tried the baba ganoush and the Steak Pita (roasted flank steak) and was not disappointed in the amount of food delivered. There was a steady lunch crowd, which they had only one server on hand so had to wait a little extra each time for water refills and check. Otherwise, I'm sure at their peak time The Nile of Hyde Park is well staffed to handle traffic. Definitely will return and looking forward to trying their Chicken Shawarma.

I enjoyed my meal. I ordered the combo beef / lamb and chicken. The portions are enough for 2 people. The beef/lamb was very tender & juicy. I will return.

Low key, unpretentious, DELICIOUS Middle Eastern cuisine. I live in the far suburbs & told my husband we're bringing out of towers here! *chef's kiss
