Running a restaurant in a large city is expensive, especially post-pandemic. $1 tacos only exist at Taco Bell 🤢 The small family-run shops like Asadero are worth the price
Steak burrito was honestly one of the best I've ever had. Chips and salsa are also solid. I found the chicken in a chicken taco to be tasteless.-early 2019

What an amazing authentic Mexican restaurant! Tacos are only 3-3.99. Their vegetarian one is the best in the menu. Beautiful service nice dinning area and Mexican vibes.
This place has the best nachos I’ve had in Chicago. They have changed my life. They have fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, and they don’t add any yellow nacho “cheese”. I recommend getting it with barbacoa, amazing. The serving is enough for 2 people easily and the nachos do not get super sogg

This is one of my favorite places to get tacos. The steak is juicy and the seasoning is just perfect. All of their food is a perfect 10. The place is small but their food is huge in taste and portions. It will become one of your favorite places to get authentic Mexican food.
We had a burrito and two soft shell cilantro steak tacos. Delicious.The Pico de Gallo is amazing. The girl who took our order was very friendly. It is cash only here but there is an ATM on site. It is very clean and you can dine in or take out. We would return.
Delicious. They have mint toothpicks. The person at the register is lovely. They’re very quick. The burrito has a good meat to topping ratio with no rice or beans. It tastes like an oversized flour taco so if you like the taco you will like the burrito.
Pretty darn authentic excellent carne asada tacos. Only negative experience was I accidentally spilled my horchata due to a loosely placed lid, no one offered me a replacement. While not mandatory, would have felt like the right thing for them to do.
I love this taco place. I could eat their beef tongue tacos every single day. They are so tender and flavorful, the meat just melts in my mouth. Steak tacos are good too. The staff are very friendly and service is fast. I’m not a fan of their guac, I prefer the chunky style.

Very good carne asada tacos. Cash only still in 2023. One of my favorites along with zacatacos. For those that aren’t aware, taqueria cinco de mayo (two blocks down) are owned by the same family and make the same skirt steak tacos (and they take credit cards).
The steak burritos are packed to the brim with delicious meat and each bite bursts with flavor. They are honestly addicting and once I start eating I cannot stop. Cash only.
I also really like the barbacoa and vegetarian options as well. Great horchata as well.
Great taco place! Guac is flavorful and ordered rice and beans with asada, pastor, and barbacoa tacos. Hands down best carne asada tacos! Cash Only so be prepared.
Hands down BEST STEAK BURRITO AND STEAK TACOS in Chicago.The steak is cooked on cast iron grates that gives a flavor like its cooked on a charcoal grill . Highly-reccomended i have been coming here for 10 years and its still as good as 10 years ago!
