Heard about this place from a YouTube video. SO glad I checked it out. It's a family/night-life entertainment kinda joint, interior design feels comfortable, a touch exotic. Feels like it's in the middle of nowhere on Peterson, but hey, the best places sometimes are. Came for the food, though, and from what I saw, it was authentic, well-presented and super tasty. Usually, empanadas are doughy and heavy, but these were crispy, light and the filling was delicious, reminded me more of a fried wonton. Salsa Verde is choice, just a bit spicy and tastes good on almost everything. That includes the Churrascos, the giant steak I had for dinner. Had it rare, flavor was subtle but hearty, reminded me a bit of Peruvian Lomo Saltado. The chimichurri paired perfectly, not just with the steak, but also the fried yuca (why is THAT not on every steakhouse menu in Chicago? Great accompaniment with juicy beef). Overall, a perfect birthday dinner (thank you, Valentina!). I'm trying some of the traditional seafood next time, I like the combinations listed in the menu. Give this a shot, go later on Saturday for the live music, but make a reservation. Great meal. š
Waiter was prompt, food was served within a reasonable time. They didn't have milk at the time so we could not have chocolate con queso. The food and portions were otherwise good. However they weren't able to split our check and they didn't give us a reason why. I did really like how the inside of the restaurant looked.
I loved the food and the atmosphere of this place. They have Life music on Saturdays. it is very good music.
The Bandeja Paisa and empanadas are fantastic. We've been here many times and never disappointed.
We spent an evening here celebrating my fiancĆ©ās birthday, and it was TRULY an amazing experience. The service, food, drinks, and liveliness were just amazing. I canāt believe I just discovered this place, as I live practically right down the road!
I wish I could recall our serverās name, because she was just a spectacular human and made the BEST mojito Iāve ever had.
Highly recommend this restaurant and looking forward to returning on an evening that they have live music!
Fun place. Great staff. Not the fanciest steaks, but still good. Chicken and shrimp were oustanding. Empanadas were wonderful. Excellent decor.
Amazing amazing amazing!!!! Food was great and the decor was so cute
A decent corner restaurant with high-quality food and friendly staff. If you have ever been to Central and Latin America and crave some of the your favorite food from there, you can find many similar dishes over here at this restaurant.
To name a few; Tostones, Patacone, ceviche, fish soup, fried fish, vegetables, etc. etc.. here you find fresh food, laid-back Colombian, ambience, Latin music. Take the chance once you have it.
And the final surprise offered me a birthday candle on my dessert.
We come and try Sabor a Cafe we saw it on TikTok, well we are not disappointed, we are really, really satisfied with the freshness and the tasty food. We get a bandeja paisa and empanadas. We do recommend this Colombian restaurant.
The atmosphere here is so fun. I love the rustic and cozy feel, and the artwork on the walls is amazing. The service was fantastic and the food was even better. It was cooked to perfection and super tasty. Highly recommend!!!
The food tasted great! Everything was fresh and the meats were cooked perfectly. I would only recommend that they check their bathrooms for maintenance more often and better placement of the tables so that customers can eat comfortably. Overall a great experience!
delicious typical Colombian food, a cool and quiet place, very very cozy
Best Colombian food in Chicago! I come here with my wife all the time and it never disappoints. We recommend the churrasco, bandeja paisa, and of course those delicious empanadas! The servers are quick and very accommodating to our requests. The live music is also a great atmosphere on the weekends.
