Cutest little spot and the empanadas do not skimp out on filling. They actually have heat to them too! The guy behind the counter was so upbeat and the space itself is adorable.
What an awesome place. Plenty of veggie/vegan options. The workers were so awesome and just made our day!
Tried this place on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I’ve had empanadas but these were extraordinary! The prepared one were limited but got to try Mexican Egg, Spicy Red Pork, Chicken Mole, but my favorite was the Spicy Green Pork one. Gonna seek out the other locations and the food truck for m
I got the chicken buffalo empanadas and a lavender lemonade. The empanadas were fantastic. The meat wasn’t dry, it was well seasoned, and they do not skimp on the filling. The lemonade was ok, not sure I’d get it again. The inside was cramped, but they had cute outdoor seating that was great for gro
Fantastic empanadas. They were a hit with our group, and the coffee was good too.
This place was awesome!! We stopped by for a quick bite. The empanadas were so good! I loved the pinto and the green pork. The chicken mole was also pretty good. They serve dark matter coffee. I had a spicy lemonade that wasn’t too sweet and very refreshing. Angelina working behind the counter
I tried this place randomly with a friend and I was blown away by how good the empanadas and coffee were. I got the molé empanada and it was really fresh and big. The horchata latte was also fantastic.
Undoubtedly good and fresh empanadas with super delicious flavors!
My only complaint is they are $6 each… quite pricey for a usually cheap food.
so there I was: me, a simple suburbs lad, lost and confused at some bar in the city. we were at our third stop on our bar crawl. I had shown up late and missed dinner. I was tipsy, mildly scared, and hungry. it was getting later and later into the evening and I was worried that nowhere would have a
Probs top 5 places in all of Chicago! Happy staff. A great cult following! Empanadas with some Mexican cuisine. …over the years it feels like they put less meat and more filler… but they still have my heart!
Had a breakfast empanada and it was delicious (chorizo & egg but really like the jalepeno / pinto bean / cheese that my dad got). $6 felt a little steep, but worth it. Coffee was really good too. My family from out of town was impressed with the cute exterior and food!
First time here and absolutely wonderful. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and patient. Grabbed a bunch of different empanadas to try, and everyone was flavorful, tender, and delicious. Will definitely be back to try the others. They also offer some great looking drinks which I will try in next
If you’re looking for a cute hole in the wall style place with authentic food and a colorful lively ambience this is the place for you. Its small but lively and the horchata iced coffee is to die for.
So good! Been here a few times and every empanada I've had has been delicious. I love the variety of flavors and I love that their menu changes so u always get to try something new. The outdoor space is really nice, too.
My guy and I were wanting some coffee to help with the mid day slug and this place hit the spot! We were tempted with the delicious empanada names and had to try one. We got the cheese and jalapeños empanada to share and they were mind blowingly delicious (trust me, don’t share, get your own!!)! I
The biggest, juiciest, tastiest empanadas! I got a chicken mole and chicken salsa verde and they were both unreal- soo much chicken! The man working at the front was SO upbeat and helpful and they had a great latte/ coffee selection.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I go to Cafe Tola at least once a week, and I always try to go when Erin is working! He is one of the consistently best and kindest baristas in which I have had the opportunity to meet. I absolutely love the Dulce de Leche latte, which is always consistent
