Wow!! That fried rice...wow! It was delicious. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Staff is just so nice. We had several dishes to try, including meat, dumplings and noddle soup. All od them very good. 100% recommended this Chinatown restaurant.

Since I found house of fortune I haven't gone anywhere else for Chinese food. The food is good, the chicken isn't stringy. I never feel like I get a piece I can't eat. If you go with four people get three entrees. Also the cocktails are like four dollars and super delicious. You go in and the owner is almost always working smiling from behind the bar. It just feels like a nice place that the workers have pride in. If it's open and you aren't looking for dim sum or hot pot I recommend this place.

This is a solid hotpot joint. The all you can eat option should please us greedy Americans. There are "premium" options available for additional cost. The broths are really good. If you want to try the numbing broth, I'd recommend going half and half, especially if you haven't tried numbing peppers before. Staff was really friendly and attentive.

Been coming here for 15 years. Just had 23 people there for a wonderful lunch. Not one complaint and the owner chose the luncheon dishes for us. Great place..stay away from the tourist traps farther north up the street and in the new China town north of 22nd street.

The lamb was very tender with perfectly sauted onions to compliment the already amazing flavor. Not only was the food good but the staff were very humble and kind. I would recommend House of Fortune to anyone living in or visiting chicago! To be honest, its probably the most authentic and best Chinese food ive ever ate!!

I was staying nearby so I went there one Monday night, the place was completely empty, the staff were super helpful, the food was good (sweet n sour pork, spring rolls) and $10 portion was huge (certainly enough for two). Not a fancy destination for a date or drinks with friends but definitely a good value place to just eat if you're around.

Absolutely excellent Chinese food. I had the hot and spicy chicken. It's spicy but not overly so, and the chicken glaze was amazing! Great service and authentic experience.

What can I say. This place is a FAR walk to the end of Wentworth in China town. You have to literally walk past dozens of good chinese restaurants to get to House of Fortune. So what could possible be worth the hike? The food is very good and the price is amazing. Lunch Specials (even on Saturday, sorry no sunday specials), includes soup of the day (no substitutes), fried crab rangoon, fried rice and something close to a choice of 40 dishes. And the staff is amazing, while you can't get a different soup the other day I went with someone allergic to shellfish, after asking if the crab rangoon had real or imitation crab she suggested they could make it with the cream cheese filling. Another in party who just doesn't like crab rangoon also got a crab free rangoon (AKA fried wanton).

Delicious Chinese cuisine in the heart of Chinatown. Go for the friendly service. Several tours drop off diners at this location. Busy and fun!
