Great diner. Known for its generous portions, excellent home made biscuits, friendly service, and best bacon in town! They have gluten-free options, plenty of options for vegetarians, and if you don't find the exact combo you want, they'll work hard to accommodate you. Eggs are done right here, and if you like pancakes, be advised, they'll fill your plate and then some! I love the patio seating--it's nicely enclosed and pleasantly decorated. They've received Chico News & Review's Best Breakfast many, many years in a row for a reason. Lunch is good too!
The food was amazing! The portions were extremely huge! Staff was very busy, but very friendly, It's a small place, you most likely will have to wait, it is definitely worth the wait.
Visiting our daughter at CSUC included having *two* meals at your establishment. My favorite breakfast place ever! I wish I could bring the entire Morning Thunder Cafe home with us to the SF Bay Area. All meals were excellent. Among our selections were chicken fried steak, the 1-2-3 (once with the waffle and once with the blueberry hotcake), the sausage combo, and a combo featuring a gigantic burrito that was bigger than our daughter herself! :o Nice people, quaint place, we will surely be back! -Kim :)

I had a wonderful breakfast. Avocado and bacon omelet was delicious. I recommend asking for a side of salsa for your omelet. Soooo good.

This place is great! The service is always good. It's classic dinner style food, but it's is always good. Overall great place. It can get busy, but just plan to wait if you show up on a popular day or at a popular time. IMO, it's worth the wait. Your milage may vary.

What a great breakfast spot! The service was on point and the prices are pretty good as well! The girlfriend and I split a chicken fried steak and an order of french toast, with a full spread of eggs, hash browns, biscuits and french roast coffee. Everything was delicious, and the portions were sizeable! For $15 per person, we both could not finish our plates for the first time in as long as we could remember. Definitely stop by if you're in the area.
Great service, hostesses and waitresses. Good prices, large portions, very fresh, soft and fluffy biscuits. I like the patio seating, tucked away from the wind and traffic. Best place to get breakfast in town.
Breakfast review:. Bring a big appetite because the servings are large. Probably the best bacon and hash browns I've eaten at a restaurant. Fluffy large pancakes cooked perfectly. I went two days in a row, different servers and 2nd chef, but the level of food and overall experience was great both days.
The good.. Excellent tasting and huge portions. A local favorite and always busy with people.
The bad.. The wait can be long and you have to sign in when you arrive to be put on the wait list. The bathroom is outside and one key to unlock the bathroom door. Can be loud inside and no WiFi.
