Chugiak Cafe is one of the long standing wonderful places to partake in Alaska. Everyone is incredibly nice and outgoing and the service is wonderful. There is so much history in this warm and cozy place that it is an honor to spend time within the walls.

Always great service, home roasted beans by the owner and friendly locals that are great to talk to. Bring your dog (as long as they are dog and people friendly). I love this place-get The Bomber - a waffle with fresh bacon and egg on top ( I prefer sunny side) and grab some beans to grind fresh at home. I forgot! Free coffee with any order!

We love everything about this place; from the old timey decor, to the amazing food, to the old timey owner, Trig. The Chugiak Cafe has a quaint small town appeal with open hearts and now an expanded restaurant with a roastery. We frequent here often and recommend it to everyone. Trig's specialty homemade Biscuits and Gravy and the Bacon Waffles are our families favorite dishes. Come try out Chugiak Cafe, you'll be happy you did!

The food is delicious but the staff is really busy so it’s challenging to get a refill or anything you need.

Best place in the area for home cooked food. Trig and team welcome you with the best service, tasty food and a wonderful local atmosphere!. He roasts his own coffee on-site, you won't find a better cup anywhere in Alaska, take a bag of beans home with you!

Although I miss the version of this cafe that originally opened, I still think they deliver an excellent breakfast and I'm happy to see they've adapted to survive. Highly recommend you make time for breakfast here.

This place has wonderful coffee, as well as lunch/breakfast type foods. It's a mile or so off of the main highway, but I have a lot of friends who come up to this "old highway" just to stop here. The prices are quite appropriate, the service is outstanding, and we almost always see friends there. No wonder - it's a great place!

My favorite cafe. Best service and most amazing food. Did I mention fresh coffee that's roasted on site. My go to is their biscuits and gravy and their cinnamon rolls. Now they have a drive through Mon-Friday for coffee and pastries. Amazing great spot to come in and experience local hospitality as it's finest. Everyone who works here is incredibly nice and will provide amazing service. My favorite spot locally.

An excellent experience! Food and service were terrific. The memorabilia was very cool, photos, vinyl records playing, nice atmosphere! Chicken fried steaks or anything on the menu is bound to tingle your tastebuds.

Where to start? The food is always straightforward but high quality. The service is fantastic. The ambiance is warm and homey. Only open weekends but I recommend going Sunday for their homemade cinnamon rolls!

You might want to call ahead to see about hours. They might change, (currently 8AM-12PM Saturday and Sunday only) but it's definately worth coming here. The food and coffee roasted in house is excellent.

Awesome local breakfast/lunch place that's only open on the weekends. It's always packed for weekend breakfast so get there early to get a table. Prices are very good and the food is simple, hearty and delicious. Decorated with an amazing collection of antiques and Alaskana.

The menu is small but the food is great. The biscuits and gravy are on point and those mini cinnamon waffles are amazing. Some on here have said they only take cash, this is NOT true. They do take card, you just have to tell them what tip you want before they run it.

The quintessential cafe! Homemade food, hearty and delicious. Fantastic biscuits and gravy. Amazing coffee from a bean blend they roast themselves. A rustic and cozy ambiance with interesting tools and equipment from a time when things were built to last. A truly Alaskan experience!

We live in Anchorage, but the food is so good it is worth the short drive. The kids loved the waffle bites and hot chocolate!! Staff very helpful, service outstanding and just a cool vibe!

Absolutely real home style food prepared right with love. You won't find better. The whole place is a labor of love. An authentic bit of Alaskana with a great bunch of people sharing it with you.

Excellent food, lovely hometown atmosphere, and friendly service. There are lots of regulars in attendance, and it's usually busy. The chicken fried steak is great.

Stopped here after flying in from out of state. Beyond friendly staff and amazing food. Fire pit was a nice added touch. Well worth it. Will stop back during my trip
