WOW... just love this place! For live music lovers this place is one of the best venues in town. The two open levels makes for an ampytheater sound that's just awesome for listening and viewing some of the best bands from this area. The food is some of the best barbecuing you'll experience anywhere. Their Pit Master Chris, whom we were privileged to meet, had that pride in friendly conversation of barbecuing that showed the love and care he puts into it ! This is a must go to place !
Copied from my Yelp review...
Slap my momma this is devine! You can smell the smoker from the parking lot and follow the scent.
Walk up to order. The big sign is a little confusing to me, but the menu on the counter was what I ordered using. Plenty of seating! We just ordered a couple trays of food to all share. Party of 7 at a high top and ready to chow. We started with dessert while are food was prepped but it was FAST! We started with a Lucy Q and boozy balls in key lime and bourbon pecan. All were delicious! Food arrived before we had time to finish our sweets. So, here is a run down of all we tried out...
Pulled pork - tender and delicious.
Brisket sandwich - BAM! So yummy.
Burnt bellies - thick bites of fat... in a delicious way!
St Louis ribs - tender and falling off the bone.
Mac and cheese waffles - gooey goodness with crispy edges.
Corn muffins - moist and full of flavor.
Pendleton Pork Sandwich - DANG! Will not regret it unless you forget your indigestion medication.
Fuego - Love those onion straws on top of the tender meats.
I tried the mild and the gold and would have taken a bottle of each home.
My 9 year eats nothing but Tyson chicken tenders on a regular basis, but today she ate ribs and mac and cheese waffle. She ate more food than I did today. I could not believe it.
We were in and out in 30 minutes. I really hope nobody was watching how fast we inhaled our food. My husband joked that we could take home whatever we didn't eat, but there was nothing left.
Final bill was $90 bucks-ish including soft drinks and a three Rhinegeist. Well worth every penny and will be back. Much continued success to Lucius and gang. Can't wait to check out that beautiful patio that is screaming for me to return on a sunny day.
We had both the brisquit and pulled pork/ Delicious!!!!!!! The place is totally cool and has a great patio outside and also there is an upstairs area. Our server was awesome. Great service with a great smile and told us about the specials on both the food and beer. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a great experience.
Another unique gem in Cincinnati’s OTR. Awesome place... good BBQ - the Brisket is delicious! Highly recommend this place! #whodey
Stopped in for lunch on Thursday. There was a line but it was handled well and we were in & out in plenty of time. Had the brisket sandwich and collards. Everything was great and the space is amazing.
Stopped in today for lunch we ordered a little bit of everything...sausage, pulled pork, chili, queso, greens and the waffle. Our favorites were the waffle, queso and chili! Deeeelish. Atmosphere is super cool and relaxed and the staff was friendly! We will definitely be back!
Whaaaaaaat?! BBQ options for a vegetarian! I always struggle with hanging out at BBQ joints and being able to enjoy the food, but these guys have outdone themselves with the Veggie Q and the number of delicious sides. The atmosphere was awesome - from the patio seating to the cozy upstairs. This is a great addition to the neighborhood. Well done!
Have eaten times and bring items home as well. Wonderful food and atmosphere! Friendly staff and a fun place to hang out.
Lucius Q catered the Indian Hill Middle School welcome back lunch for 75 people. Everyone loved it!!! We had the turkey, pulled pork and veggie proteins. The grits, slaw and beans were also amazing! Highly recommend!!!
This place is gorgeous! Friendly staff, fabulous food. Try the sausage with the mustard and a tequila slushy!
Delicious! We started with the BBQ nachos. They had tons of queso on them, which we really enjoyed. We also ordered a chili dog, and it too was really good. Service was a little slow but very friendly. We will definitely be back!
Great sandwich! Tender meat. Very good slaw. Thick sandwich! Delicious! Got it at their booth at The National Homecoming Festival. Very nice people running the booth!
Food was absolutely amazing. Had the biscuits and gravy and the Pendleton Porker. My boyfriend also got a sandwich that was delicious. The waiter was very attentive and nice. Wish I lived closer so I could visit often!
The staff was very friendly while offering very detailed descriptions of what they had to offer with it being our first time there. The food was amazing! The banana pudding is probably the best I've ever had. I definitely recommend. It's very nice and quiet on the inside. Nice little place.
Went for wing week. Had the smoked dry rub wings. My companion had the korean barbecue wings. Both were excellent. I had a side of collard greens. They were a little salty. My companion had the mac and cheese, which was only ok. The meat was the star of the show. I've had their brisket previously. Definitely come for the meat.
Food is just absolutely amazing. Didn't even know until after I got there that this was featured on Guy's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives just a few weeks prior. I was passing through and the menu looked interesting.
I got the Fuego and shared the biscuits and brisket gravy. The sandwich was one of the best I've had. The meat was all tender with a nice sauce to pair with it. The biscuits as you can see are small. They are however delicious. They hit different than your regular breakfast biscuits and gravy. Worth sharing them.
The only complaint was I tried my girlfriend's Pendleton Porker (not shown in the picture) and some of her meat was hard like jerky which made it hard to eat on a sandwich. Unfortunate and not sure if that's intentional. She picked it all off and ate it after.
Yum yum! Finger licking good!! Loved the atmosphere! Service was over the top...treated like family! And the food...everything is smoked so the great taste lingers even after food is gone. I recommend the rib tips but the smoked wings, whole rib, and collard greens are worth trying also. Can't wait to go back! I'll be going on a Friday when I hear they have a variety of live bands.
I got the wing week special .Very good Korean style BBQ wings, great red beans and rice. . Friendly people and they had a band playing. I would like to go back and try more of their BBQ.
Great Cincinnati venue. Food was great, service was great. Beer was great. Can't ask for more
Travelled to Cincinnati for a Reds game and I can sum up Lucious Q in one word... CHRIS!!! On the grill Chris does his THANG!!! He was an extremely gracious host and was proud of his food. I now see why!!! He educated that there are No Microwaves in the restaurant. Every protein is freshly smoked, allowed us to sample the toe-wigglin' mac-and-cheese!!!! The corn was SLAPPIN! The wings, rib tips, pendleton, fries ARE ALL 10's!!! I ate and smiled the entire meal. A must try restaurant and my instant favorite.
I’m not even from Cincinnati & I’d say RUN here as fast as you can! Phan owned which was my initial selling point. Went back again last night. Meat so good, you don’t even need a sauce, but if you do, go Carolina Gold! Collards to die for (we don’t get that at BBQ joints in Chicago). Great atmosphere & fun neighborhood.
I came there with my friend and that was our the best choice! Food was sooo delicious, I can't say anything bad about that place!! I definitely put it on my toptop list! We tried half pound of pulled pork, and brisket, with Mac&cheese and corn muffin. I don't know what you guys put on top of Mac&cheese but it was soooo good 😋😋 and probably I ate my first corn muffin at that place. Definitely 20/10! Service and atmosphere were perfect. Great job guys! 👏🏻👏🏻
Ribs ok, sausage and brisket are excellent. Carolina Mustard BBQ sauce is superb. When the female bartender pours you a shot, it's more of a drop! They really hold back on the liquor. Have a beer, can't go wrong there.... Friendly atmosphere, and overall, I like this joint
AMAZING! The whole experience was wonderful! We were seated by the food prep area and kept seeing all the meals people ordered so it was difficult to narrow down what we wanted for dinner. The pulled pork was so juicy and delicious. I liked the Carolina Gold sauce but their traditional bbq sauce I liked better. My friend ordered the Carlson and was pleasantly surprised with how wonderful it was. Our order did take a while, as they were busy, so I joked with our waiter Drew that I was going to steal one of the delicious nacho orders I saw going out. He brought over a small chips which I thought was very considerate. The atmosphere was very nice, the food delicious, and the waiter Drew amazing. This was an all round relaxing, delightful experience. Will definitely be back!
This is such a fun place . It’s best to go with a couple friends. We ordered the burnt eggs, pulled pork, fries, Mac and cheese and pretzel nachos. All delicious 😋
The staff was extremely kind and inviting I truly wish I could recall the name of the waitress that helped us today because she was spectacular. We ordered just about a quarter pound of everything , all the meat was delicious. If you get the st Louis ribs get some napkins ready! All of their sauces were unique in their own ways and paired perfectly with the various smoked meats, the Carolina gold and alabama white were fantastic and the mild and hot were delicious as well. For dessert we got the banana pudding and no lie this is easily the best banana pudding I've had in my entire life, I'm sad I live 8 hours away from this spot otherwise I would be here daily for lunch
It was The perfect day to sit on the patio bar. After ordering a beer and taking a look at the menu I decided that I wanted to sample a little bit of everything so I ordered a quarter pound each of the burnt ends, the St. Louis ribs, brisket, pork bellies and the chicken. Everything was delicious. Try to sampler of all of the sauces I’m a big fan of the mustard base they are mild and they’re hot sauce was tangy and had a nice heat. Wasn’t too hot which is good because I’m a big baby. Also tried the corn, the collard greens and the baked beans all of which were divine.
First time in Cincy and so glad we stopped by this place for dinner! The dine-in area was rather spacious and tables upstairs are well spaced out from each other, with a TV screen in every view. The ambience was spectacular, and this was matched by the taste of the food we had. The ribs and Mac and cheese were so tender and full of flavour! The ribs were smoked just right and paired so well with the barbecue sauce. The selection of drinks were not too bad either. Loved our time here, would definitely swing by the next time we are in town!
My wife and I both thought that the food was very, very good. We got the Korean style buffalo wing. They were delicious. Just the right amount of heat for us.
We also got an order of brisket along with their Carolina mustard and the Alabama white sauce. I don't think I've ever had a better Alabama white sauce. The brisket was perfectly smoked and had a good amount of fat. (You may differ from me, but I think that outstanding brisket needs a good amount of fat).
We will be back.
