We have frequented here from time to time and their food has never disappointed us! We completely recommend this place! Hamburgers are great (fresh!) and so is their chili!
Main Street Cafe One Great Hamburger. Great homey restaurant with good food, good drinks and a great staff. I believe the owners son owns Zips in Hyde Park. My wife and I enjoy going there for sweet potato fries a great hamburger with a few beers/wine. A very friendly atmosphere!
Pretty much the only place to eat in Newtown. I've been driving right past this place for years and have thought on several occasions that I should give it a shot. I finally did and was happy with the experience.
The atmosphere is warm and the service was good. The draft beer selection was decent and I didn't have trouble finding something good (a Sam Adams seasonal). I ended up ordering a burger and it was cooked exactly how I wanted it and it tasted good.
Overall I don't think the Main Street Cafe is anything outstanding, but if you are in the area and you need to get a quick bite, you should give it a try.
Get the chili, burger, and sweet potato fries. With that said, this cafe has nice daily specials and many cafe classics executed well. An older crowd mixed with business people pack this local lunch favorite daily.
Best Burger in Town!. Awesome burgers and fries! Never had a bad meal here and the service is always the best. The chicken salad is also very good.
Craving a good burger? Skip Micky D's and Burger King, this place has delicious burgers, freshly made and not served through a drivethrough window
Friendly Place. The patty melt I had was perfect and they had club soda. The wait staff was warm and friendly. Its a great place for lunch. I'll go back and try the desserts next time.
Standard popular place. This was a place to get some food, it was clean, and the wait staff was around. A little pricey for your standard fair. The dining area is mostly tables and chairs, I would always prefer a nice soft booth. I will go back because it isn't offensive, but I would rather go to Demitiro's IV or Fricsch's big boy for the same money. I end up eating at all the restaurants in the area because I live there and this is an option. Not great but an option.
Good food, good times, eclectic and cool people. I can't believe how many years I drove right past this establishment, watching it and it's customer count grow, without stopping in. Perhaps tonigt may be different, going home from downtown Cincy via the Appalachian Highway your friendly lights lure me as I grin after Xavier soundly beat Minnesota, 65-54.
Nice for Lunch. Though I wasn't impressed by the prices (almost $7 for a grilled cheese sandwich) the food was uniformly good. I recommend trying the sweet potato fries with calypso sauce (a sweet sauce with coconut, citrus, and apple flavors). The bread pudding we had for dessert was unexceptional, but next time we'll try a slice of pie, which they're supposed to be known for.
Dessert!. The best and biggest selection of pies, cobblers and cakes diner-style!
Zips Zips Zips. My understanding is this place is owned by the same people who own Zips. The menu is nearly identical, including burgers and chili. I love Zips, but sometimes I don't want the dark crowded atmosphere. Main Street Cafe is well lit and has never been crowded. Definitely worth trying out if you're in the mood for Zips.
Great food and service! Everything we had was great! Seriously the best burger, fish sandwich, fries and fried pickle chips we've had in a really long time. We'll definitely be back. Loved the cozy, calm ambience and big windows...our server was attentive and kind. Thank you!
Food was great. Definitely some good burgers, but the cost was way over my range. I do have to shout out though to our server, Grace. She was amazing and such a great joy to talk to. If you see this, Grace, thank you, and I wish you the best of luck ongoing.
We are in town visiting and decided to give Main Street Cafe a chance. Me and my wife are soooo glade we did. We started with the mozzarella sticks which were awesome. I ordered the chicken sandwich (blackened) with a side of onion rings and my wife went with the grilled cheese on white bread with fries. Both our meals were delicious, and could not have asked for better food. The wait staff was great and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. The cost of our meals was very reasonable. If this place isn't a local favorite I'd be surprised. We will be back before we leave for sure.

Loved it! The burgers look and taste as a burger should. I got the double Cheese burger and that thing bordered on a food challenge due to its size. It was cooked perfectly, juicy and a flavor that can not be beat. Had a side of Onion rings and they reminded me of what Frischs used to serve decade's ago. Everyone in at my table loved what they ordered, from a Club with fries, grilled cheese to a bowl of chili (don't forget the cheese and sour cream). It's a smaller place with a full bar inside, still was comfortable though. Swing by and at least try a burger here, though I am sure whatever you order will be delicious.

Stopped in to grab a bite while I was in the area. Quaint lil pub-style diner. I went for the special which was grilled chicken melt on artisan bread with sweet potato fries and their holiday punch. The server was sweet and didn’t take long to get my food. Perfect location RIGHT on the corner so you can’t miss it.
Nice bar tender. Great fried pickles. A good Reuben sandwich. The chef made a nice thousand island dressing.
Our server accepted our challenge to get us out the door within 30 mins. She switched up some normal steps and got us quenched, fed, and departed within 20 mins. Thank you!

You would be surprised to know that there is an incredible yesteryear style diner right in the heart of newtown. Call it what you want but Main Street Cafe has it! In taste, quality, and service. I worked here in the early 2000s, my first job and the food was so good, just a simple cheeseburger and fries went a long way. I recently came back here in Nov 22' to find that not only the menu was affordable but the food was EXACTLY like I remember from 20 years. It hasn't changed much on the inside, but that's a good thing. Stop in and enjoy a burger or see what else they can whip up in the kitchen, I'm willing to bet you'll really enjoy this place.

Quaint place with really good food. Fish sandwich was outstanding and my wife said the chili and mac & cheese was delicious. Definitely going back.
