Got a seafood pizza it was the best pizza I have ever had. I will get this when ever I am able to be downtown. Fred told me they are only open for lunch he is in there early morning making everything fresh each day.
In town on business. This place was close to my hotel, about a 6 minute walk. Ordered a pepperoni and tomato. Very tasty. I'll come back for sure!
Heard about Fred & Gari's from a friend. Decided to stop in to grab a sandwich to eat on Fountain Square. It was busy - usually a good sign for a restaurant. I ordered the Reuben based on other reviews. I also went with Greek pasta salad and a brownie. Because I was a first timer, they added an free cookie. The guys had a local flair that got them extra points. They were a bit disorganized causing it to take a little longer to fill orders and they messed up and gave my friend the wrong drink. The food was good, but I would try other sandwiches on my next visit. Their rye was a bit thin and soggy for me. Corned beef was good, but not as plentiful as other downtown restaurants. Sides were great. Overall I liked the place and would order ahead for pickup. Good stop for a nice lunch on the square.
There is nothing more in this world that I like better than a Deli/Sandwich shop.
Fred and Gari's is it, and they do it right.
I had a Rueben sandwich. It was absolutely delicious!
Comes with two sides total $8.00, you cannot beat that.
They have many other sandwiches and soups on the menu that I must now try.

If you're in the mood for a pretty decent sandwich this is a place to check out. The spicy crab sandwich really was unique. The roasted chicken sandwich was really good. I've had the chicken salad sandwich which was mediocre. The sides are pretty good, especially the Greek pasta. Prices are decent.
I love salads, particularly Cobb salads, but I would skip it and the spinach salad.

Great spot. This little walk-up deli is about as scratch-made as you'll find these days. Most of their items are house made: the deli meats, the tuna & chicken salads, the pizza dough & sauce, the side dishes. Everything is excellent. I am especially a fan of their steak hoagies and reubens, and their fresh-baked cookies.
My First Time. It was good! My job had catered them in last week and it was SO delicious that I decided to venture out on lunch to see for myself. Food is really good and fresh. I shall return!
Tried for the first time today. Had the italian pizza. WOW is all I can say. It was wonderful. It was loaded I could only eat two slices. Staff super nice. They had so many return customers. That is when you know a place is good. I also got a free cookie that was so big and tasty. I will be back soon
Neat place.... Neat, friendly folks running the place... Cool customer base... Good food... What is not to like? --- I ordered the veggie pizza. Everything is carry out, so obviously I got it "to go." The pizza was loaded with toppings. The chocolate cookie (free since I was a first time customer) was delish... I will be back!
Amazing!. I have read the reviews on Urbanspoon and have wanted to eat here for quite some time. Yesterday, I got the pepperoni pizza and it was wonderful! It was baked just right and the flavor was amazing! I also got one of their famous cookies-- if you would even refer to it as a cookie! This thing is an inch thick in the middle! It was wonderful as well. I will certainly be back to try their other menu items!
Good food and good people. Long time customer of Fred and Gari's - when I worked downtown they were my favorite place to get my lunch. The fresh cooked turkey and roast beef sandwiches are excellent. My favorite is the gourmet turkey sandwich with pasta salad and brownie. The little brownies are deadly. And Fred's pies are unforgettable. I miss when I could order a whole pie for birthday parties...
And yes, they make an excellent pizza...the crust and sauce are always perfect. I've sent them many customers.

Yum... Yum... YUM!!!. I've worked around the corner from them for 10 mos, and have been told NUMEROUS times to try them, by co-workers. But sadly every time I ventured around the corner I "just" missed them closing... :-(
So, today a co-worker came back with food and an INCREDIBLE smell followed... I said "WHAT IS THAT!?!" It was a Pizza... I didn't know we had ANY pizza places nearby, he said "FRED & GARI's"... so I 'ran' out, with 20 minutes to spare, ordered a small pepperoni, well done and waited, during the time I was there a good dozen people came thru in those last 20 minutes, and it was obvious they were "return" customers... The two gentlemen (who I assume are Fred & Gari) were gracious, hospitable, funny and very attentive to their customers... and as FIRST visit bonus, they gave me a HOMEMADE cookie (peanut butter) that THEY make there... (along with EVERYTHING else daily)... and BOY oh BOY... why hadn't I found them SOONER!... The Pizza was PERFECTION, crisp, flavorful, amazing... and the cookie... as YUMMY as it looked!

A hidden gem!. Fred and Gari's is one of the best little places in Cincinnati. GREAT food, decent prices, and great staff!
There is no seating area, so it's carry-out only. Fred and Gari's is one of my favorites by far!
I The pizza is like Papa John's... except everything is better. Fred and Gari's a downtown lunch spot that tends to fly under the radar. The restaurant is pick up only and it's best to call ahead. However, everything I have had here is delicious. While they specialize in various other lunch options, Fred and Gari's also has excellent fresh made thin-crust pizza. the toppings are tasty and the crust has an excellent combination of crisp and chewiness. It's truly a well-craft pie.
I work downtown and there are so many different sandwich shops - I really need to get out and try more of them. A couple weeks ago my friend Ron told me to try Fred & Gari's because they have the best cookies on the planet as well as great sandwiches. So

Decided to try this place out for a lazy hotel room lunch while we enjoyed a little staycation. Food was great. The crab salad was exceptional. The variety of sides was nice, and they were all good. We also had a delicious peanut butter chocolate chip cookie.
The service was fast a super friendly. We will be back.
I live across the street and finally made an effort to make it over here before the place closes. I usually don’t eat much before like 4pm but I’ll say it was worth it.
The guys are pretty cool and the customer service was great, I got a 12” pizza with pepperoni and bacon and it was delicious.
Definitely will be back if I can ever drag myself over there before 1:30pm lol
My boyfriend and I took a day off of work so we could try Fred & Gari's. We were not disappointed. We ordered a pizza with pepperoni and green pepper. It takes about 15 minutes so we stood around and waited. While we waited, we ate the free cookies we got for being first-time customers. We also listened to Fred and Gari - their banter with each other and their customers was entertaining. Once our pizza was ready, we left since there's no seating available there. We walked to Fountain Square and ate our pizza, which was still super hot. The pizza, once cool enough to eat, did not disappoint - the crust was done perfectly, the cheese was extra cheesy, and the sauce had a nice kick to it. The only complaint I could possibly have about this place are the extremely limited hours - I would like to try more on their menu, but that'll have to wait until I have another weekday off.
I ordered Pies for Thanksgiving. They are a Must in our Family and as always they were Fantastic!!!. When I went to pick up my pies I ordered a Pizza and Greek pasta salad. I have never had pizza like their's it's always fresh and full of the topping you choose and the sauce is crazy delicious. The Pasta salad is the Best. Thanks again for making our Family Thanksgiving Beautiful and Delicious.

This was my first visit to Fred and Gari's. I have been working downtown for a few months and this was my first trip there for lunch. unfortunately for them I'll become a regular so hopefully they don't get tired of seeing me. Being my first time (as they say "virgin visit") I was given a inhouse made cookie and it was delicious.
For lunch I ordered a Pork Tenderloin sandwich with the Greek Salad and cole slaw. Absolutely fantastic food. This place also won't break the bank like most downtown lunches.
The customer service was incredible and the guys loved to joke and have fun. You can tell they truly enjoy what they are doing.
Best lunch spot downtown! Everything is fresh and homemade and Fred and Gari are awesome guys. I love the turkey breast sandwich, all the pizzas, and the soups. Our office orders from here periodically and it is always our favorite place for carryout!!
I've worked downtown for over 25 years and never been here??!! The food is VERY good quality and the bread is so soft. I will definitely be a regular here from now on. So glad to find a new place to eat. The people who work there are so nice. I'd give it a 10 if I could.
First time visit today, heard great things about it and they didn't disappoint. Service was friendly and courteous, you can tell everyone enjoyed working there. I was asked if it was my first time, and then was labeled a "virgin" and given a free cookie! My hot Italian sub was good and the Greek pasta salad was very fresh and tasty. Can't beat the price, will be back.
Ordered a Reuben and hands down one of the best I have ever tasted. Solely the reason for the 5 star review. Service was pretty good. Definitely down to earth people who are doing what they love. I have seen other review noting rude service and I think its stems from a lack of formalism/understanding rather than simply acting rude. There was one side messed up in my order, but it was delicious and I bet everything else on the menu is as well. Definitely hope to visit again to try something else on the menu, if I can resist the temptation of that Reuben....
